Quit it....your gaming that is?

Being in the military myself, I can say you are quite safely able to quit the game. You can actually have a life outside of this and I am sure we can both agree your service to your country (Whatever country that may be) and your welfare is much more important than this text based game.

Change job to the military on the game. That way if your gone for a long period of time you can use your job points in bulk and recieve a decent stat increase if/when you decide to come back.

Being in the military doesn't mean you have to quit Torn.. Just means you have to play on your phone.

Of course depending on your country/state and which forces you're going into,

But by the sounds of it.. That's not your question, you're asking when your deployed to a different country how can you keep up with your gaming?

My answer is you don't. I'm sorry but when you're on deployment such as operation Afghanistan which alot of my colleagues have just gone off to, depending on your regiment and forces your joining, the likely answer is you won't have a phone.. Not to mention it's a huge distraction to your operation, as a soldier you should know what comes first and shouldn't be worried about Torn when going on a deployment..

Make sure you join a starter job. (Army is my recommendation.)

Also make sure your faction leader / person you are married to knows and are ok with it so you keep getting merits for both of those things.

Also move into a shack so you don't have to pay upkeep and come back with -200M

Depends on where you're going and what you'll be doing. Most of my friends get access to the internet at least once a week when they are shipped off to duty. I only know of one guy who was blocked from torn while away.

Thank you for all you do and i hope for a quick and safe return.

I was in Afghanistan last year for six months - I had internet access for about 3 months of it, some FOBs have crap or no internet. Just change to a job like medical or military so you can accumulate job points, invest all of your money for 3 month periods and hop online when you can - don't stay on long or you will use up your welfare time for the internet.

If you are a Yank ignore what I just said as they all seen to get unlimited free super fast internet wherever they go

When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains, an' go to your Gawd like a soldier. Soldier of the Queen!

lol... it's a good experience, if you dont really have a life or depending on what branch you join you could make it a career... probably safest bet with this bullshit economy we have here in america atm. I did 5 years in the navy, it taught me a lot, and was a good experience overall, but i like my freedom and i like being close to family. If anyone would really seriously use gaming as an excuse not to do anything... need to seriously just kill themselves.

Do you really want to be patrolling for enemy combatants, say you're scouting for snipers, then you think "I wonder what the current Xanax price is, I bet I could make some easy mon- *gets arse shot off*"?

The last thing you want in any combat situation is distraction. Forget about this crap.

When my husband deployed, we were able to chat online just about everyday. Keep in mind he was in a fairly safe place-- maybe 2 or 3 mortars over the wall while he was there, and no off base liberties... but we'd chat on fb, skype, or write e-mails. If we'd known of torn we probably could have played while he was over there. Depending on where at in the sandbox your going you can either play or just pick it back up when your deployment is over. Plus some of the bases were getting "upgrades" when my hubbs got out== one got a Really awesome sports bar! Good luck on your deployment, stay safe, and thank you for your service!
