Well as you know when people go to jail they have anything they suspect can be used for harm away from them. That includes shoe laces and belts so they cant hang themselves.
What I want to ask is, if a person was on an open field with no walls , could they ever kill themselves, because normal argument states that the body is too well prepared and protected and the worst you will do is black out.
If you think you cant just say it, if you think you can, explain each step. Funniest I heard was to jump at an angle where you could break something major but I don't think that would lol

If you throw yourself forwards arse over tit, it'd be very possible to break your neck. Even if you didn't break your neck, you could fracture your skull. Might not kill you straight away but if it's bad enough, give it a few hours and it's lights out.
You could ingest a massive quantity of dirt? That'd kill you. Then again, a tiny amount of dirt could lead to fatal infection.
If you remove the "killing yourself" part and just think of ways you could die, you've also got to think about weather conditions. If you're out in the open with no shelter, you're looking at hypo/hyperthermia, sunburn, pneumonia...many other things that I'm too tired to think of.
So yeah, it's more than possible. Given long enough, I'd say it's inevitable.

.wait till after lockdown, an eat the handful of pills.
.take one of your bedsheets, or uniform pants and tie it around your neck tightly when you start to feel sleepy.

since this is torn the usual things to have in a philisophical discussion are too boring.
as far as a guy in the jail yard killing himself well hes more likely to get shanked by going to the wrong side than committing suicide since most prisons watch out for suicidal intent.

It's a field... are there plants? stones? hills?
Maybe I am missing the point here but fields aren't empty.
If he really wanted to (with none of the above present) he could repeatedly do handstands and let himself fall onto his head. I'm sure that would do the trick after a while.
Edit: just reread OP, and he said 'open field' but still didn't specify what was in this open field.
Also, I don't think normal argument states that the body is too well prepared for what people can throw at it and you could only knock yourself out. A sprint ending in a handsfree head dive would almost certainly do some proper damage. This repeated would kill.
I also just read "5 days in a field and you'd be done from dehydration", true that. And to beat that... I would say 3.5 days of doing starjumps and nothing else. You'd die from exhaustion, just speeding up the effects.

Quick ways to die.
Are there any trees? Climb the highest one, fall head first.
Are there any items relatively sharp? (Including fingernails/teeth) Cut your forearms until you bleed to death.
Are there any rocks? Smash the back of your head into them as hard as possible, multiple times.
Bit tongue off, and bleed to death.
Any water? Drown.
Attack any random animals, enough to make them kill you.
Slower ways to die
Eat any dirt/poop that may be around. Eat EVERYTHING. Hope to poison yourself.
Fail to eat (And starve to death)... this is long and painful.
Dehydrate yourself.
Run. Constantly. Exhaust yourself of energy.
I think that's enough.

I have thought about this & came to the conclusion that since you are in an open field you could just run to the nearest civilisation with a gun shop, buy A gun & some bullets & shoot yourself.
