All the threads here are about specific games/systems. So here is a thread for general video games chit-chat.
Whether it be modern games, retro games, the industry, ebay finds whatever, it can all be discussed here.
Individual game threads can then be spawned from here if the demand is there.
So, what have you been playing lately. Iv recently been spending a lot of time with Euro Truck Simulator (with a bit of Kerbal Space Program in between). I'm not much of a sim guy but this one is surprisingly well done.
At the moment, still hitting civ5 pretty hard. Been playing some point and click adventure games too. Finished the twp Deponia games last weekend, before that it was the book of unwritten tales. Backed the new dreamfall game on kickstarter, so will probably buy the first few games in that series and play them soon.
Have a bit of lego batman 2 going on, and the penny arcade adventures, while randomly throwing in a bit of sims 3 and minecraft.
Good idea, this should just be a new sub-forum for ONLY general chat about games, IMO...
Anyway, I'm currently playing Red Faction: Guerrilla again since my old profile & achievement history was deleted...

The majority of Star Trek game are pretty bad (I'm looking at you Star Trek: Legacy), but in there defense Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force was damn awesome. Even the menus in that game were enjoyable!
Heh yeah I loved Elite Force. I had no idea what the game was going to be like when I bought it, I only got it because of the sweet satchel that came with it, but ended up really enjoying it.

Yep, and it suck balls. I mean I found the space combat kinda fun, but the rest of the game just felt empty and soulless.
I found the space combat to be a rip of Starfleet Command 3 (which had great space combat) but in STO it's a little more simplified, AKA they downgraded it a little, but you're right it's still pretty decent. The ground combat has to be one of the worst travesties I've ever seen, they could have stole any number of cookie cutter style ground combat mechanics from any number of games yet they somehow came up with that junk.
I've been playing Battlefield 3 a hell of a lot lately, mainly because I'm super hyped for BF4. Buying BF3 for me was money well spent, it's kept me playing for a year and a few months and I've no intention of putting my controller down soon. Anyone else still playing it?
Yeah pretty much.
Don't get me wrong I like multilayer shooters as much as the next guy (which is all BF3 is good for) but its the stories I love and BF:BC2 had a great one which has been left unfinished.
I've hated cliffhangers since Shenmue 2 was left unfinished and maybe I'm still butthurting over that I dunno but I'd defiantly be much more excited to have BF:BC3 released.
Not exactly. Im in work bored an feel like discussing my hobby with like minded people.
The threads available have very narrow subjects, so Iv started a thread where we can discuss the subject in a more general manor.
OT: This guy really enjoys video games. youtu.be/egV9yWMFuCE
Kinda makes me excited for this year's E3.
