I've played every AC game except for the handheld ones and AC3 was one of the buggiest peices of shit I've ever played so heres hoping the next game will have FAR less bugs than AC3.

Anyways in the 4th game(technically the 6th game in the series) you'll play as the Grandfather of Conner who was the main character from the 3rd game. For the first time in the series you'll be able to dual weild swords and firearms for some interesting combat variations and take down kills.

If you've played the previous games and want to mention spoilers at least give people a warning that you're post has spoilers.

I think it's going to be terrible. For me AC stopped being great after AC II, Brotherhood was ok, I like Revelations because of the setting and AC III, I didn't enjoy. The storyline of the games has fallen.

For me the AC series always has its ups and downs but it can't get any worse than AC3 which was basically a ton of filler with all the collectibles, shitty fast travel(that you have to unlock going through the "underground"), and ability to encounter a bug/glitch with every step you took.

The only thing and i mean THE ONLY thing that was flawless was the ship combat that from my experience never had any bugs although the fact you never earned any monetary rewards from each mission sucked. The Assassins system needs some serious tweaking though because I'd love to be able to quick select certain assassins and maybe position them in certain areas to better execute a mission or situation.

Im still not sure what to think about Black Flag. I have enjoyed a few of the Assassins Creed games in the past and I really liked certain aspects of the AC3. The customization was great and the ship combat was amazing. The story though... ehh I felt that Connor really didn't have much of a personality of his own which always took me out of the game a bit.

What I am looking forward to with Black Flag is for Ubisoft's rendition of the Caribbean in the 16th century. I am somewhat of a history buff so the setting has been one of the most enjoyable parts about all of the Assassins Creed games I have played. Besides I want to know more about the father of Hatham, who seemed more of an interesting character to me than Connor in the first place.

Love the AC games, imo bar the bugs and the more of a go here do this gameplay instead of dealing with the main characters moral dilemnas it was all in all a very good game.

Meh

It looks like they ran outta ideas regarding making it simply the grandfather of the game before.

Overall I loved the AC series, but it does have its decline..

Look at it this way the AC4 character is a badass compared to the whinny Connor from AC3

i mean the AC4 character shoots a guy and takes his wife which might be a way of blending in after a stealth kill which would be funny and awesome.

Well each character in the series displayed a certain character style

Altair - Arrogant virtuous hero
Ezio Aditore(spelling?) - vengeful at first but very respectful in the end
Connor - Honestly I would rather have played as his father the whole game, at least he had witty humor and a charismatic personaly(kind of like Ezio) regardless if he was a (Spoiler alert) ex-assassin turned Templar (End spoiler)

I just hope and pray they don't make an Assassins Creed 3 Brotherhood , that would suck especially with how they watered down the assassin system that was such a fun part of the AC2 games.

Yeah. I've played Assassins Creed 1, 2, brotherhood, revelations and 3. By the looks of it I'm also the only one who got a glitch free playthrough of it

I've noticed all the comments regard to Ezio, Altair or Connor.

!!!SPOILERS!!!

Desmond (in case you forgot) is the only constant in the story. With him dead the story has lost direction. After he sacrificed himself to allow one giant dominatrix goddess to save the world he died.

Also, 16 is dead.

But that opens a few possibilities. Maybe you're an Abstergo recruit. Training or another excuse for it.

Maybe you're Desmond's father or one of his relations.

Maybe you're Shaun. I'll get permabountied for saying that

I hope they keep the Chinese ropedart, make the naval combat perfect (AC3 was sooooo good) and a lot more quests that allow you to find ancient relics like Altairs armour or Sword.

That said, if It's the Same shit with a new label I won't be buying it.

They never truly declared him dead in game perse even though Ubisoft has stated he will remain dead that can simply be a ploy to allow for a plot twist later involving Desmond possibly coming back in some way.

The thing I want to see is them bring in more artifacts into the game because they've really only shown 3, the staff thing in AC2 games, the Apple(AC1-AC3), and the Mind Control wand in ToKW DLC(albeit this was a what if scenario and not actually canon).

Ubisoft does have a way of making plot twists

The objects of Eden (Papal Staff, Altairs apple, Ezios apple(Yeah. Two apples), The memory discs and the Papal Shard) were very interesting. Maybe they could incorporate them into 4.

They never explained where the pseudo apple in AC3 that Connor touches to talk to a precursor comes from so most likely its something the tribe found in the cave or something his father Haythan(spelling?} inherited from his father for which he left with the tribe.

I had kind of a cool idea.

Since they can extract memories from people for someone else to view maybe if the next game is through the eyes of a templar his/her experience with the memories of connor's grandfather persuades him to become an assassin and then out of nowhere Desmond somehow comes back and recruits them setting up for a 5th game set in modern day where you can have all kinds of technology at your disposal.

Have to admit its a long shot that the story may be that but it would make things interesting.

I can already see it. Blackbeards beard comb is an artifact.

They never explained where the pseudo apple in AC3 that Connor touches to talk to a precursor comes from so most likely its something the tribe found in the cave or something his father Haythan(spelling?} inherited from his father for which he left with the tribe.

Haytham. Possibly.

I'd like to see the modern day depiction of earth. Apocalypse failed so Maybe It's not so bad.

Then again being ruled by a goddess with a fetish for submission would suck.

That Sounds amazing!

Oh my mind just exploded with ideas for modern assassin weapons and game mechanics

my concern is that automatic weapons would ruin the gameplay.

It would. That's Why it wouldn't be implemented. Maybe some bolt action Pneumatics or slow firing energy weapons.

A semi auto silenced pistol or dart gun could be a good implement but energy weapons would create light and possibly alert enemies if you are in a dark area

Very True. Maybe an assortment of bows would fit as an armoury filler.

Hey what about melee? The ones who came before must've had cool stuff to incapacitate close range hostiles!
