It may be a bit oldfashioned, but... I use RSS to keep informed about the news.
I would like to add some RSS feeds to the big game developers, but to be honest, I don't know many. I also notice many developers seem to make it extra hard to find their feeds (for instance, I cannot find any on the EA site).

I haven't seen anyone using RSS feeds since Twitter started making it big-time.
I think you'll probably find the majority of game developers just tweet about news articles related to their products now, being essentially the modern equivalent of an RSS feed.

RSS still has nice functionalities which twitter, sadly, cannot provide.
