It's not uncommon for a beta test that they would want to know what kind of systems can run the games, or if someone has a system that cannot run it there is no reason to give them a beta key as well.
I'm an elder scrolls fan but I don't think I'll be checking this out because MMOs tend to become really boring for me no matter how many of my friends play it or my online friends play.
If and when the game goes public later this year if the price is for it is reasonable or they have a free trial or something I may check it out.

to be honest i never play MMOs
dont really like them
but since its and Elder Scrolls series, i want to have a look at it
Like every MMO cash-in, it'll be a pile of shit. What made the TES series good was the exploration. Since in every MMO you have that same level of freedom, i don't see how they're going to make it in any way interesting.
Here's my guess: a f**k load of appearances from the famous characters of the series.

Pretty standard so they can get a range of systems in their beta from awesome computers to barely above their suggested minimum specs. They want to see how it runs for a wider group of people than just the ones on super omg wtf awesome computers...

Seems like it's another PvP based MMORPG. I don't know how well it's going to hit off :/ The site just talks about the Alliance war and controlling the Empire... Nothing really talks about fighting the main evil in the game :/ Let's see how it turns out.
I know there are going to be dungeons and all, but the game doesn't say anything about them.

besides if it did take personal info it would open them up to legal shitstorm of lawsuits and investigations costing them millions and possibly jail time for some people.
so if your paranoid remember that
as for me im not gonna try and participate with the beta until after I upgrade to a six cor cpu, new motherboard and maybe 8-16 gigs of ram because my computer is nearly 6 years old and my dual core cpu is worn out

you cant advertise other games even thou its a gaming forum
that rule only applies if you or someone else is trying to advertise a game but notice how we are doing something called "discussion" rather than "advertising"....
besides that rule only applies mostly to browser based games anyway since torn can't hold a candle to most video games
