hey guys my wife got a really really good deal on a new wii so she gave it to me as an early Christmas present. I'm really not a hardcore gamer at all and I'm not very good with computers and technology. I was wondering if anyone knew any fun mods or anything I could do to enhance the wii. I did some research and found out about home brew. the issue I have is that I have crappy satelline internet which is capped very low so I don't wanna hook it up to the net and I am weary of voiding the warranty just yet. any ideas? thanks!

not much because it has so few good games....most of which are fairly dated but here are the good ones
- Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
- Super Smash Bros Brawl
- No More Heroes 1 and 2
- Mad World - black and white stylized game that has a lot of gory crude humor.
there are a few others none of which i can remember
most Wii games are pure shovelware crap
I'm glad I never wasted money on that POS or that new WiiU that everyone is going crazy over since they're just gimmicks.

that part is right because you might find it fun for a while before you stop using it and it becomes a doorstop....then again its so light I doubt it could hold a door open

I was hoping it would be easier to load an emulator on it to play old nes or n64 games on, although i do have both on a lap top hooked up to the living room TV and a USB controller for both systems and it works fine. since the semester ended I've been logging tons of time on ocarina of time lol.

that joke sucked the day people started using it.
Overall I think the 360 is the better of the 3 just because its online features are better than the other two allowing for more fun with friends. The PS3's online features are limited and it can take a while for you to move through the menus I also hate how each PS3 game requires an "Online Pass" to play online which if you don't have a working one you have to pay to get it. The PS3 network is never that reliable for online play as it is since most games I've always had issues with lag. As for the Wii most of the good games for adults are no longer played online that much because many were smart enough to sell their Wii.
I'm just glad I have my PC for most games since I'm not limited by shitty networks, fees, slow interface, or proprietary bullshit.

Wii's are fun, I have one but don't play often, in fact, I last played on it 2 years ago! My 3 favourites are:
Wii Sports
Wii Sports Resort
Mario Kart Wii
I had Call Of Duty: World At War & Black Ops,(This was before I got my Xbox360) it was good for passing time but they didn't work on it as much as Xbox360 & PS3, so the Grapgics were ok-ish... You can't get the Zombies on W@W but Black Ops does, but only 1 Map. You cannot do Split-Screen & I don't think anyone plays Online either...

I'll never know why they bother releasing FPS games on the wii....just feels odd to play with that controller and I never liked the gun controller they tried to push on people since you can just take some coathangers and make a homeade version

Yes, I never used the gun, I just used the controller. It was pretty fun cos it's different! But you don't get the full enjoyment as you do on Xbox360 so I no longer buy FPS's for the Wii... :/

well since your not a hardcore gamer and since most Wii games are fairly cheap...I would recommend the party games for you. They are mostly boring to hardcore gamers like me but are easy to learn and most take minimal effert to play and have fun with.
