Just out of curiousity, what is everyones favorite video game this year? I'm asking cause I'm interested in investing in games of this year and possibly any games you guys might be waiting on to come out.(Price is no matter)
Play Starforge, it's what minecraft should be but sadly my computer can barely run it and no one else really can unless you sink about $1200 in a system.

I Think it is Block Op II(though the story is a little bit shorter than we expected or Assassin's Creed(though I prefer Enzio).
Borderlands 2 and FarCry 3 and Mass Effect 3 are my favourite releases of this year.
However what I believe the 'best' to be is Spec Ops, The line.
The most well made single player story I've ever played.

to be honest i dont see what people see in Spec Ops The Line
i played it through a while ago but didnt find it that good
there were some interesting places and events but overall nothing special i think
borderlands 2 was great and all but got a bit boring in the end, all that totally useless loot which you cant carry and thats useless to sell got annoying
plus the fact that most missions involved just running from one place to another and back again, and having all the enemys respawn every time you move 5 inches away from the place
farcry 3 i really liked, although i would have liked a bit longer storyline and a bit more use to hunting after getting everything maxed. its still fun to hunt while putting yourself to test, like knife against a tiger or something like that, but other then the fun of managing that, theres no point in hunting. one more thing that i didnt like was the fact that when you liberated an outpost, there were no more enemys there and they never tried to take outposts back, so basically no more enemy resistance
mass effect 3, now thats a game that i properly enjoyed. sad that there arent more games out there with such a good and long story. it did manage to get a bit hard at some points but nothing i couldnt manage. im now thinking about giving it another go
hitman absolution, pretty interesting but can get annoying when you try to get everything done the assassin style. good variety in envoierment
need for speed most wanted, not bad but it is lacking the thing i miss about need for speed series, and i mean customization. plus i didnt really like the fact that all cars were available from the start
dishonored, didnt find it too good, cant say bad too but just wasnt my taste
assassins creed 3, havent tried yet but when i will, ill update this
call of duty black ops 2, havent tried yet, but when will, ill update this
xcom enemy unknown, i played it and found it a bit annoying, mostly cos i didnt really like how they managed to put all those different things into one game, although innovative, i didnt like it
medal of honor warfighter, as crappy as a game can go, and i really liked the old MoH series
sleeping dogs, i dont like cheap GTA lookalikes so didnt like that one too
prototype 2, not much of a game story wise, but destruction was fun
max payne 3, great game, good gameplay, good everything, except the fact that it shouldnt be called max payne, since for me max payne will always be what it was in first 2 episodes, new york underground, drugs metro and all that, plus that it was about his family, now he fights in brazil, he lost his cool coat and he is fighting another mans battels, they ruined max payne for me
diablo 3, ill probably get to it when its cheaper and when i have more free time
I guess i got all the important games into one post
if i managed to miss some, let me know the name and ill post my opinion
need for speed most wanted, not bad but it is lacking the thing i miss about need for speed series, and i mean customization. plus i didnt really like the fact that all cars were available from the start
Most Wanted was definitely a let down in my opinion. Nothing about it reminded me of the original. The lack of customization did suck, but in my opinion the whole thing sucked. You don't even have to race the ranked guys or whatever to advance, you can just accumulate score and surpass them. Very lame. And running from the cops is a joke. It used to be a combination of evasion and wrecking a cop here and there, but now it seams to be mostly just wrecking the cops. No more exciting 5-15 minute chases, just wreck the first 3 or 4 cops and find a cooldown spot in under a minute or 2. The ONLY thing I found even a little bit of entertainment out of was competing with friends to see who could get the best billboard jumps.
Me- "I received a 30 day ban, then 4 days later I noticed it became a 60 day ban. Why?

i agree mostly, a letdown this game was
but about the cops part
if you didnt escape at the beginning then escaping them at 6 stars was pretty much a useless effort
and that got annoying during certain car upgrades where it was required to outrun the cops in 2 minutes or so
need for speed series should finally go back to the fun arcade style racing that was underground, underground 2, most wanted and in some places carbon, although that was the point they started going downhill in my opinion

Thats what I mean though, you HAVE TO do quick getaways exclusively now. I liked in the original where you had tasks like accumulating amounts of damage and/or running for a curtain amount of time and then getting away instead of HAVING TO get away as quick as possible. For me, I LOVED the long chases where it would actually get exciting cause you never knew if 1 wrong turn of a failed drift would get you busted and you'd lose everything you just pulled off.
And they never should have left out drag races and drifting. Undergound 2 was epic.

exactly
and yea in my opinion U2 was the best of the bunch
even had a couple of SUVs that were totally pointless except just to build a great looking car and cruise around
and you couldnt be more right, drag races and drifting should have been in the game
and since it was most wanted i expected to see toll booth races, they were quite fun

Toll booth for sure. The lack of race types was ridiculous. Sprint, circuit and outrun the cops in under _:__ sucks for a campaign mode. There's a couple more online but the whole racing system is retarded online. No starting line at all, you just get there when you get there and if you're last the race may already start... REALLY? And then stupid "races" like "drive off the ledge the most and you win, even though the computer will start you wherever the hell it wants so our bad if you somehow end up 30 blocks away....". I was extremely disappointed.

at least i did the right decision by pirating the game first to see if i like it
ended up saving a lot of cash so i cant really comment on the online part
if you have a minute re-read my original post, i have added a couple games to the list

I don't have a PS3 and don't do much PC gaming so I haven't played most of those. I seldom buy brand new games anymore because of how frequently they rush them and they end up being let downs so I wait for them to reduce prices. I just liked the original Most Wanted so much that I thought they couldn't go wrong with it but was sadly mistaken. The newest games I've played other than Most Wanted are Gears 3, Arkham City and Sniper 2 of which Sniper 2 was pretty easy and a bit repetitive, Arkham City was short but entertaining and Gears 3.... meh...
They're not even really new anymore, just the newest games I've bought sadly lol.

Yea i buy games quite rarely too. Only those that i really have been waiting. Recently ive gotten FarCry 3, Hitman Absolution and one more which name i cant remember atm
i mostly pirate games at first and when they are good and interesting i stop playing the pirated version and buy a original but since there are so many crappy and half arsed games out there, most of my ge collection stays pirated

I've no idea how to even do that, I suck at technology lol. I wish I could try them out instead of blowing money on crap. Gamefly seamed like a decent idea at first, but with so many games now making you have to buy the online pass codes I'm surprised GameFly are still in business.

Sweet, I forgot about crysis, I totally need to find a demo
I would have to say out of 2012....the best game I played that year would have to be Dark Souls....if you not a hardcore gamer then you wouldn't like it but I loved how it kept you on your toes while playing

ive got no idea what GameFly is
but thats cos i live in Estonia
Gamefly is a online video game renter buisiness. You rent a game for like a week after buying a membership then return it and rent a new one....something like that. Not worth my time as I am a huge collector but It's good for ppl who just want to play them then return and be a gamer that way
