How about you make it so that a faction doesn't have to go through all the crap factions to rise in rank?

For example, let's say Joe's faction is ranked 88, but my new faction is ranked 3500.

I know we can easily beat Joe's faction, so how about once I do, Joe gets bumped down to 89 and I get rank 88, and so on and so forth?

It is just ridiculous to think I have to battle all these inactive noob factions in the 3000s ranks to get anywhere interesting in the game... Besides, it is even more unfair to them this way, as I will be tormenting them without the chance for them to fight back, and uninteresting and somewhat resource costly for me as it poses absolutely no challenge.

Please consider.

Trust me when I say that anyone who was starting a new faction (;other than you apparently); would *want* to be grinding through all those nice weak low ranked factions and getting lots of nice respect from the resulting rank wars.

Yeah, great idea, then anyone can make a faction and be a high rank with no time or effort! The developers are obviously idiots for not thinking this through and agreeing with you!

TheDarkLegacy:;

Sarcasm aside, the developers should realize the interest factor.

It is uninteresting to some of us to battle noobs.

Also, it is unfair to them if I declare and go through their faction easily without them having the shot of fighting back. You don't understand because you're lvl 22 and 117 days old. To you, the game is new and interesting, I've been here for over 5 years. Think about it. I'm not saying the old players are the most important, of course the new players are relevant, but there should be a way to get you into where you should be rankwise without having to battle inactive lvl 10 noobs.

Butters:;
I see your point but it isn't worth the energy. Respect is and has always been meaningless to me, even with the perks. I want to declare a war because it is fun, and it is certainly not fun to declare war on people who have absolutely not shot. I'd like to war factions higher up the food chain, but there would be no noticeable reward for beating them as the rank system would not reflect I had done so.

You have to see that this can't happen though - you can't force a low ranked faction to rank up (;what if they want to fight back when someone ranked higher than them is trying to use them as non-rank filler); and you can't make ranking up after winning a rank war optional as that would just be exploited.

If you want to jump the queue, so to speak, then just buy a higher ranked faction as there are lots of them out there.

If you are going it alone it alone and starting from the bottom with a newly created faction when it apparently doesn't suit you to do so then you are making a rod for your own back - you can't expect the entire system to change just for you and screw other factions over (;or alternatively introduce a massive exploit);.

p.s. Welcome back by the way - good to see another old face walking the halls...

so you don't want to earn respect while you want to earn respect, is that it?

It's a ladder system. The current system is exactly the way a ladder system works. If you want to get to the top, it will take work and dedication.

Besides, beating up all the easy factions on the way to the top is easy respect, don't know why anyone would want to miss out on that.

Wrong, I just want to beat a faction and have it reflect that I beat them, respect does not do this currently.

Butters:; I see your point, but if you look at the high impact it would have in the game, it is even economically worth it for the developers as this would promote more activity in the users, to maintain a rank. I believe games should be challenging in order to be fun, after all, isn't that why many old timers like you and I have slowly faded away from torn? A lack of interest due to a lack of a good challenge? Now it would be more difficult and therefore more meaningful to have a high rank.

Ohadik:; Yeah, I get it. And I do appreciate your input but you missed my point. My point is, I don't like bashing noobs, it's a waste of time and energy. I'm not interested in respect. Besides, if we'd like to give it the rpg justification it makes sense, it doesn't work as you say in the crime world. There is no ladder system in a criminal world, if you can kill everyone and do, then you can take their spot, pretty much.

You don';t understand because you';re lvl 22 and 117 days old. To you, the game is new and interesting, I';ve been here for over 5 years. Think about it.

Not because I want to start a Bash fight, but my god I hate old players like you with these kinds of statements. Some of the new players, amongst TheDarkLegacy and Me, have already spend WAAAY more time on this game than you'll ever do.
In your so called 5 years you've been online for 11 days, TDL have been online for twice that long in roughly 4 months, the same as I..
Some of us so called noobs know more about the technical aspects of the game, than old players like you do.

I guess spending time in SA is fun, eh?

On-topic:;
Some kinds of changes would be nice, but the changes you described would definitely not.
There are so many problems in the face of such a change that you'd have no control over the consequences.
