I've had to keep in touch with 10-15 people at a time setting up a recent graphics auction, and it gets cumbersome trying to update everyone when you have to individually mail each person the same copy + paste memos over and over.

Grouping mail recipients would reduce repetitive tasks for anyone in a similar situation.

The idea is to have a "bank" of recipients that you can delete individually after adding.

Dunno, but the recent facebook update suggested a grouping system for online/offline people (its a screenie of ched's profile with "staff" listed as 9 people online) which might already incorporate this.

Would fit in nicely with this suggestion: http://www.torn.com/forums.php?forumID=4&ID=15060801&start=0#15357936

Made a thread aboot this one a while back, good to see yours!

Surely its as simple as passing an array instead of a string to the mail api.
Or is it truely a mess under there?

If its not possible it would be good to hear as to why.

If its on the way , then fair do's ched.

Well if you look at it this way:

If the mail api is waiting for a message + recipient and you send it a message + recipient then everything is fine.

If you then send it a message + a recipient + a recipient + a recipient then it won't know what to do and it won't work.

So it wouldn't be hard for them to do, but it isn't just as simple as passing an array

Of course it depends on how they programmed it though.

It would need a limit.

I didnt mention it but absolutley would need a limit.
Maybe dependant on friends list or faction members.

But so bloody integral, chat is unreliable at best. IRC is difficult to bring in new people. (IRC is cool as but there is that curve for the nub)

I hate to use facebook as an example but there group messaging would be perfect for faction / job interraction.

I expect torn code is a bubblin unwieldy beast.
I am speaking from an idealistic stand point with string to array I am aware.
an teasin a bit
;)

But would be handy!

I send same mails to various people by copying and pasting. So, I like this suggestion. But as bogie stated, a limit will definitely be needed. Maybe something like 10 or based on something else.

If this was ever something brought forward for discussion it would also need a high limit on WHO could send mass mails. Certainly not any new player for reasons of spammers/phishers, let's not make their lives easier.

I'd say this ability needs to have a reasonably high level limit AND restriction to donators only for the above reasons.

Will the time delay between messages stack when selecting multiple people too? Currently it's 1 message per 10 seconds for donators, 1 message per 60 seconds for non donators and 1 message per 120 seconds for non-donator level 1s. If I send 10 messages at once will I have a 10x delay (100 seconds)?
