Now, I know TORN is NO CALL OD DUTY but it would be nice if a person would be given the option to restart from Level 1 after reaching Level 100.
He could be given an option of keeping 3/4 things..
I know a person would not like to let go off everything he has earned and lost to reach there but wouldn't it be fun. As a reward TORN could give a status bar or a "Prestige" mode or something.
I don't like the suggestion anyway. It may as well read "I know TORN is no CALL OF DUTY" but it would be nice if it did what COD does.
Maybe in the future when there are lots of people on level 100 but right now it's not really needed and I don't think anyone would take the option. There's not exactly replay value, they fight to the top, give up everything they have and can never achieve getting to the top again.
I doubt any of the top-dogs would do this... Why would they spend years to reach the top, and then click the 'lose everything' button?
If they really think there is nothing more to achieve and therefore want to restart, they can just talk to a Secretary and have their old account deleted.
i've seen many games with the whole reborn mechanic, some set about it by offering a new character class, doesn't so much apply to torn but could in the sense of offering new merit perk choices, others also offered slightly better exp and stat gains. i thought originally that once you reached level 100, you'd still get the opportunity to level but it would just be for merits, which is a prestige mode in itself. also something that should be considered with such a suggestion, do merits carry over, does it reset but offer bonus merits along the way too. there are also many accumulative aspects like refills, drugs and the like, i guess you could lower the cost in refills for such and maybe make the character less susceptible to drug addiction or dependance on rehab. lots to consider with such, not as strait forward here as elsewhere, another part to such a mechanic too is cost, it usually costs a huge sum to embark on as well, so as to begin to address the material aspect and not just the character building aspect.
i don't mind the idea if the only thing that is reset is your level and stats. It would allow people the opportunity to play their game differently without having to have a new character ID and give up all of their account. The only difference I would suggest would be that something is prominently displayed to show that they have achieved this and going again.
It should only be an option though and not a requirement.
