I think Torn should find a way to code in a way to put in an associate's degree and a master's degree

any ideas?

It's more or less for the good of directors of a company. The higher the level of education, the better the pay could be. It all amounts to how much education the person has. Compare the education with the two people. Tell them to copy and paste their education on the application as well.
