So i was thinking, that maybe we would be able to keep the upgrades we made to our cars after we unenlist them, so as to increase the price based on number of wins and upgrades

No, then rich people could buy themselves fully upgraded cars and win without any effort at all.
Racing is supposed to be a challange.
