"You have slept for 10 hours and gained 50 energy and 50 happiness." That's an example of my suggestion, a bed item. With it, you could "sleep" and gain benefits. To prevent people from taking advantage of it, there could be a limit on how long you sleep, after that it would add no extra benefits. Also, while sleeping you can't race, and when you log on, there is a screen that say " You have slept for xx:xx:xx.", with two buttons below that say "Wake up", and "Logout". You wouldn't be able to do anything else. While sleeping, you would defend like normal except for a few differences. For example, "(attacker) missed with their (weapon).
(defender)'s reflexes makes him/her fire two bullets from their (weapon), doing (amount) damage."
When hospitalized, you would basically be in a coma; when you wake up and you still have hospital time, you will be in the hospital.
Also, if needed, Education time could be delayed when you are sleeping.
Edit: I didn't make this clear, but the energy is extra, added on to the amount regenerated normally. Also, these could be given out as a prize for completing a mission for one for one of the towns (Halloween or Christmas), since I forgot to add how they would be given out.
Edit: HarshLife's post made me think about adding disadvantages while sleeping. One example was a higher % of money mugged when sleeping because you aren't awake to stop them from taking more. Another could be slightly reduced battle stats since you aren't fully aware of what you're doing.

Wait.. so you want to waste your time 'sleeping' to gain energy, right?
Why not use that time wisely and naturally gain the energy you normally would anyway?
Makes no sense, rated -

Sorry if it wasn't clear, I meant 50 extra energy to add on. So if you were gone for a while it would be 150E when you got back or if you were donator it would be 200E.

So in theory you'd use the item while you were sleeping IRL?
and as a bonus end up with 200/150 energy when you woke up.
Seems a bit too benaficial...
Could be interesting if there was some odd disadvantages..
Like everytime you get hit the person's first attack is a critical (100% likely), and if you get hit at all you would loose the 'sleeping' bonus.
Or that muggings took a significnalty higher % as you're too asleep to really notice.
Could be interesting, but i dont really see it atm.

No but seriously.. Say No to legalised scamming, Its just logical. |

Using your Diamond Bladed knife, you hit xxx in the head for 99999 damage.
xxx tried to hit you but couldnt because he was asleep.
You left xxx sleeping on the street.

It's to make it so that people don't prey on the people who are sleeping, you have to make them able to defend or else people will search for people whom are sleeping and spam kill them. It could also be something like:You wake up and start fighting. At the end you fall asleep again.

this should be given some thought
also effect of bed is directly proportional to your property's value?

I'm not sure. If the bed's effect was directly proportional, then the richer people with PI's could take advantage this. I think it's better to have one fixed rate for everyone so that it is fair.

By "I'm not sure", I meant that I wasn't sure about the suggestion to the suggestion that he brought up. I was not referring to not being sure about the suggestion itself.

ok, I'll try again.
It's your suggestion, someone suggested a change to it. somehow you should be the best person to evaluate if it fits into your original idea.
so either discard it or adjust it.

I chose to discard it and I used "I'm not sure." as a way to politely discard it. Would you rather have someone tell you that they aren't sure about your suggestion, or harshly tell you that they don't like it and won't use it?

so you think the unsure/coward type of phrasing is the best choice to clearly show what you think?
how about grow a pair and speak what you think about YOUR suggestion and how it should be implemented instead of hiding behind insecurity?
