Simple update.
Now that the bookie is capped on a 1b bid it seems that all forms of gambling (except poker) have a max bid. So how about a simple merit upgrade that allows you to increase your max bid on all forms of gambling by 10%.
At 10/10 this would simply mean that you can put up an additional 100% and put in 2b bids at the bookies.
Now i do know that the 1b cap for the bookies was put in to stop people from getting too rich off it but i'd have thought that a 55 merit investment to gamble an extra 1b that you may lose is fair.
Opinions?

I think you need to let this bookie update bed itself down first - based on previous experience your chances of having an update released which (partially) circumvents a new restriction that has just been pushed out probably isn't going to get far at this point in time.
I'd have a small issue with the concept itself in that it would favour older players such as ourselves, who are likely to have a spare 55 merits kicking around anyway (ie. we aren't going to have to choose between this and other "important" upgrades).
Like I said though it's probably too soon to be suggesting something like this - who knows, if bookie patronage goes down the drain then Ched might look at the cap again at some point down the track.

How about implementing the same through a point based upgrade system more like the loan shark? It would be fair then since people rich enough to put in 2bil on a game would be able to afford the points to upgrade their Bookies Bet Cap. Also it wouldn't give undue advantage to older players and obviously, only rich people would really be able to afford and would care to spend points on such a thing.
