Problem: Whilst playing poker there is an option to "kick" somebody from the table, for what ever reason it may be. However, when you do kick them they can just rejoin the table and be a nuiscence again and you have to repeat kicking before you start the hands etc.

Solution: After you kick somebody from the table it automatically bans them from that table for an hour, this isn't as annoying. If they have been kicked it will also prevent them from speaking from outside the table.

I don't really think screenshots are needed.

Feedback?

An hour? That's a bit bloody excessive don't you think?

Na, just have an exponential ban system where a player is banned for 5 mins, then 10, then 15, then 30, then 1 hour, then 2 hours then 3 hours then 5 hours then 10 hours then 24 hours.

Afterwards a probationary period for players who have been banned would also be needed. This would be relative to their offence of a factor of X / 0.2
So if they were banned for 5 mins they would serve 5 mins and then (5 / 0.2 25 mins after their ban ends their offence would be forgotten by the system.

I think this would be much better than a 1 hour ban no matter what, and considerably more effective as though players can come back, their bans and forgiveness periods would spiral up and up and up.

Rated + as the idea is a step in the right direction.

You also should be able to kick them in the middle of you playing instead of having to wait until the hand is over

That could be abused, big time.

You could either steal money off of someone by kicking them, or someone with money to lose who thinks they will lose, could be kicked in order to keep it.

Either way you program this one, it coul be abused.
End of the round would still be best.

Instant ban is too extreme, I like the proportional idea though I think the first kick should be 0 min ban in case of mishaps and it should cap out much lower at something like 15 minutes. At 24 hours no table owner will last that long, and its doubtful many if any tables themselves will. Anything past 15 minutes and it could just discourage disliked players from even playing well, I'd even go so far as to say 5 minutes.

no... reason being people don't always have a real reason to kick someone... if they are kicked and come back simply kick them again and mug them or bounty them up(depending on how much $ the table is)...
if you cant afford to bounty people your prob not to great at poker (might as well just leave if they bug you that much and save your money)

people that do stuff like keep coming back and getting kicked probably have something wrong with there head... this means there going to gambel horribly and i simply don't mind taking peoples money

Why would we bounty, if I don't want someone at my table, I don't want them there simple, regardless of the reason.

I used to play poker nightly. I hosted my own room and it was filled nightly. I ran a tight table, if you banked after being warned you got booted, if you got caught cheating, you got booted (playing as a tag team), any disruption you got booted. I was very fair and gave everyone a chance by warning them.

But what you are suggesting, it is too easy for abuse. Everyone should be warned once and if then they continue the owner should boot them. If they keep disrupting the table a player report should be submitted and any proof and/or screenshots sent in.

How is it easy to abuse? You kick them they go for an hour.

I feel like cartman is on to something here. I agree with him in that it is fairly annoying when you kick someone for banking and they just keep showing up...A couple methods of solving the problems:

1) create a system in which torn remembers how much money a person leaves the table with, stores that in memory for 30 minutes. If the person tries to rejoin within that 30 minutes with less money, they will not be able to join.

This might only work for tables where there is not a table limit and time outs may have to be coded differently

2) Install an ignore feature, a lot of players are kicked because they are a nuisance. Applying an ignore feature would greatly reduce kicks, and hostile environments.

3)Allow the kick feature to be used against anyone who is not in the hand.

4)Install a time delay, where anyone kicked from a table may not join for 5 minutes.

If you don't want someone at your table, use the password feature that's already enabled. Terrible suggestion, poorly thought out.
