Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I would be a good member because I have witnessed this game evolve almost from the start to the monster it is today. I work with game developers frequently and understand how game mechanics have to work with all players (Not just a select few). I also ensure I fully understand any situation/update before I make any arguments, objections, recommendations or celebrations.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm a 26 year old Canadian. I'm a 3D artist whose on the computer anywhere between 8-18 hours a day. I use Torncity as a frequent break when I need to get my head out of my work and get my head on straight. I also like to teach myself new things. I'm currently learning how to speak Spanish, Japanese and play Guitar!

What is your general play style in Torn?

I keep a low-key attitude towards attacking and usually focus on battle stat building and making money in the game. However most of my money usually ends up being given away in the forms of prizes and gifts to the lower levels in my faction or any friends I make along the way.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I love how Torn has become it's own country in a way. When I look at the world around me, then login to Torn I can witness the same global effects within a game. We have thousands of different mindsets and playing styles all of which contribute to make this a fantastic game! So really my favorite part of Torn is all of the other players.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I have almost always agreed with the updates and changes and can only think of two I was against.
The first was the removal of Dogs, but after losing the mutts for a month I noticed how little I really did care about them and agreed it wasn't worth having them in the game.
The second change I didn't agree with was the merit/life reset. I had been planning on saving up my medical points to eventually have a high life total and I didn't see the value in resetting all of the merits that had been used. Again though, after seeing how the new merits worked in the game system and how broken the life gain would of been, the change made sense.
Honestly, I likely would of agreed with these changes from the start had I known the full reasoning behind it (and in the case of the merit reset, the new merits available to make up for the change).

Do you meet all of the factors required?

No, I am not a subscriber. If I was picked for this committee and that was a requirement then I could be. I do not see the benefits to being a subscriber. I am fine with 100 energy.

What is your in-game age?

938

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

In general I like this game. The potential for this player committee is limitless and history making. If I am picked for this committee this will bring players together to make the game better. I want to be a part of that. I think that most of updates could have been conceived better if the players had more input. I play Torn City and Xbox and I have always wanted the opportunity to have an impact on a game to make it better. I see this as an huge opportunity.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am 30 years old and a father of 3. I play Torn City as often as I can. My job has taught me to be a leader and find a compromise even if it doesnt seem like there is one. I deal with the public which gives me great communication skills. I am not a yes man. I voice my opinion even if it is unpopular with everyone else.

What is your general play style in Torn?

I see myself as a ordinary citizen in the game. I train my stats mainly for self defense but I am working towards a financial empire.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I play torn city because it is a very challenging game. There is so many different ways you can play the game. You can be the guy that is always in the forums trolling, the anonymous attacker, or the hall of fame player just to name a few. My favorite part of the game is the game itself. Day to day you can jump on and train, do a few crimes and not be all that involved. The next day you are looking for that next great deal in the market or commenting in the forum. Sometimes I feel like Torn City is a real city. This player committee should be a great thing for Torn.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I have been for all the updates that fix errors in the game.

I have been against some of the biggest changes in the game, for example I did not like the points price cap, the cap on bank interest, or taking donator pack out of the game as items. I think these updates could have been discussed and a reasonable compromise achieved.

I liked the changed to racing, the new side bar, the bookie and betting addition to the casino, and the cool downs to enhancers.
These updates were well thought out and release with enough information for people to understand.

I look at the recent announcement and will use that as an example, this annoucement should have been postponed until the details of how many stocks would be need to reaquire the benefit. All of us can agree that it is unusual to invest into a stock market that has benefits and you are able to skim stocks and get your money back, even if it is partial or in full.

I think the backlash has been so strong because not enough information was released and the general impression is that we all have played the game with the rules and parameters we are given, this new update "punishes" us for playing the game as is.This is something the player committee, ched and the developers could have discussed and a reasonable solution achieved. After all that, then a detail announcement could have been made.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
I currently do not use the IRC channel; but I am usually on Pidgin so I'll set it up now.
Not a subscriber as I still have about 3 years of membership.
Generally I make forum comments / topics on recent changes [including suggestions on how to make more money]

What is your in-game age?
1940 days. I've been a player for about 2030, but due to the sweep up of multis back then, I was caught up in that as I'd introduced a bunch of people to Torn at college.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I have a logical mindset and care about the good of Torn. I think in great detail and try to think beyond just my own interests.
I know that what is good for the players is good for Ched's pocket, as happy players bring more players. More players mean more people to pay Ched.
Also, I have been computer programming for the past 10 years and made my first text based adventure when I was 14 thus I have a deeper insight into what's possible and how to make it possible than many players.

Tell us a bit about yourself
As a communist at heart, I spend a lot of time trying to understand and look at the consequences of money, and how to make it. I have worked in the heart of the financial system (as a "regulatory risk" manager) and as such I have had to understand the inner workings of the financial system, and one its largest banks. And also, I have a very objective approach to people, possessions and money.

I am currently studying a degree in Engineering and Computer Science and am a member of the department committee, have contributed towards a number of entirely free text based adventures (a version of Legend of the Black Dragon (~2 years) [dead], Elvenworlds (~4 years) [dead], and as I've seen their demise through an unwillingness to accept donations, I would be saddened to see this one go down.

Also, I love debating and philosophy.

What is your general play style in Torn?
I sign on, train, and make money. I'm not into role play, and use the game to exercise my brain a little. I've been a consistent player for 6 years.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
TC gives me a small world to focus my mind on. It's interesting to see how small changes have large and unforeseen effects (such as preventing the system from buying shares resulting in large numbers of people splitting and selling "skims" and allowing large numbers of people to be able to buy bonuses far below the stock price and resulting in the latest change... to undo the change). Also, having lots of properties and moneys. I don't like to have material wealth in the world, so I have it in TC instead.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
I've been mixed. If it makes things more fun (i.e. a new feature) then I'm all for it. If it's a change that as a programmer myself, I know should have been implemented at the start (such as proper testing, implementing back ups, etc.) or that should have been easy to implement but is released as a huge update, or is something that has the opposite effect to the stated one (such as when the stock price shifts, and people either cannot buy a stock bonus any more because the price has gone up 1,000%, or goes down and everyone can cheaply buy the bonus for 10% of the original price, and then the bonus has to be changed like HRG was), or is removing features then I'll probably be against it.

But also, I love playing devil's advocate, so I'll often take the opposing side regardless of how I feel about something because it's more productive that way and makes others think more.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
I am extremely active logging on numerous times during the day to train, and enjoy all areas of the game. I was a subsriber however money problems in real life which are due to be rectified soon will enable me to continue this. I use IRC frequently ranging from competitions to trade and general fun. I tend to read the forums to see the updates and try to see the postives in all of them.

What is your in-game age?
342 days old

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?o
I believe i am a very understanding person, can communicate well and can view points of view from different sides. I believe these qualities will be essential within the committee to ensure the high level of team work maintained can bring the best possible service to the torn community. Out of these qualities i believe communication is mandatory. Liasing not only for fellow players but to admins to will require a good leel of english furthermore a strong knowledge of the game, which i believe i have gained through maintaining my activity.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am 19yrs old, currently studying BA Hons Buisness Management, with the view to start up my own company. I am devoted to any task given, strive for the better of myself and others and can apply myself to new challanges fully.

What is your general play style in Torn?
I relish the oppertunity to sign in and train my stats however my style is not limited to this. I train to become stronger, and aim to be able to beat that player that i never could. I enjoy all areas of the casino and talking with friends through the IRC and also mesaging system.

What is your favorite part of Torn, why do you play it?
For me it would have to be the casino. Despite some heavy losses, i have also had some big wins. The new Roulette system was a brilliant update which has provided me with much enjoyment, giving me not only the prospect of making a few millions, but also something to converse to friends on forums, IRC, or chat.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people) I absolutely love the new warring system, best update i have seen. I can honestly say there has not been an update i was heavily ranting about, due to understanding why these updates were n place. If given the oppertunity to be apart of this community i would try to help others understand that the positves outweigh the negatives rather than purely focusing on the bad.

Thank you for consideration.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Game Activity - Yes, I am on 5-7 times a day, 1-8hrs a day.
IRC Activity - I want to be on more.
Forum Activity - at least 45% of my time on is forums
Subscriber status - Still have 77 dp days, then plan on getting more dps, or subscribing.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Yes, although I can probably spend more time on IRC, and I do not have subscriber status, rather donator.

What is your in-game age?
716 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I would be a good member of the player committee, because I have experience working on other committees such as the United Nations Security Council. Also, from an in game perspective, my knowledge of the game exceeds most. I am not afraid to ask questions, but with that said, I am more than happy to answer questions as well.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am 19 years old, and currently attending Harvard Medical School. You may think my time is limited, but it is not. I am on anywhere from 1hr a day to 8hrs a day I would make a good leader, and/or advisor, because I work with a film company as a side job. (I can give links if interested)

What is your general play style in Torn?
I would consider my general play style in Torn is a leader. I have started my own faction, which I believe is going quite well if i do say so myself. I know how to manage a team, give directions, and take directions. People see me as a leader, and so do I. I have the confidence and charisma to continue working, and succeeding.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
My favorite part(s) of Torn is/are, The factions. The factions have brought me so much entertainment throughout my career here. Wether it is seeing a faction get destroyed, or seeing a faction prosper to become great, it was all my favorite. Another reason why I like the factions so much is that I become closer to people in the game, and I can meet new people.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
Change can be difficult, no matter how you put it. Some people react fine with changes, some people don't. Personally, the changes have had a direct effect, or close to it, on my Torn life. With that said, some were positive, some not so much. Overall, I am pretty happy with the changes made. If I wasn't at first, I got used to them, and at the end of the day, it was for the best of us.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

No, not all of them. Nearly all of the requirements except for the subscriber one. Currently, I have more than 300 days of donator status left from purchasing donator packs in bulk in the past, thus, I am not worried about it at the moment. Although, I do plan on getting subscriber status once my donator status runs out. I do not mind spending cash on this game.

What is your in-game age?

At the time of putting in an application, 911 days old.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I am a good team player willing to respect other people's opinions. My closest friends have expressed to me verbally or through written notes I tolerate many things in real life, thus, they feel I have been someone who is a good listener without too many biases. I like to communicate many good and bad ideas. I enjoy working with others with some of my interpersonal skills. I am also a problem solver. I am a quick thinker. I have some empathy.

Tell us a bit about yourself

In real life, am 22 years old, college student, does not drive/own a car, work part time at a restaurant as a chef and as a waiter. I play games on the PC, Nintendo DS and Playstation 2 quite a bit. I enjoy camping, going to museums, jogging, playing football in real life, playing soccer in real life, and pulling computers apart and putting them back together the most when I have free time.

What is your general play style in Torn?

I tend to stay in the forums quite a bit but I may not say much because I want to know the trends for current active players in torn. On top of that, I like to stay in touch with some people and make friends. I also like to train my battle stats. Although, I like to chat with faction members most. I enjoy being generous to players that are in need with little items or some advice when it is necessary. I enjoy going to irc and idle in channels because it is fun to see the interactions between players. I also enjoy being updated on news at torn quickly.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

In my opinion, I like to go over to the casino and make bets because I enjoy taking risks when I am in the mood to do so because I am slightly greedy in hopes of increasing my profits.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

In my opinion, I am against 2/5 of the updates but I do see them as necessary. There are some changes I believe that needs to be done away with because they are rhetorical. There are 2/5 of the updates that I firmly agree with that needs to stay.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
Ive been in the wars, have the stocks, so i have a view of what could be done with them to make them better if that's seen as the main problem areas. After each update always look at it as this is pretty cool but if they would have also added this or that in with it could of been a lot better.

Tell us a bit about yourself
26 years old, male, living in eastern usa, going to school for computer science degree. Used to be beta tester for malasian company my friends there would send me a key for their new games they were coming out with and have me try them out give back the input find the bugs etc

What is your general play style in Torn?
Train stats to do better in wars, self supported with all my stocks to buy stuff for my stats

What is your favorite part of Torn, why do you play it?
The wars although not as much as i used to like it before that pesky 100% bar came out

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
Normally I reserve judgment for them to come out and try to not panic when you do the announcement before they are out. Lately i've liked them but felt more could have been done with the updates to make them more fun

For example racing, kind of boring as is you join and do absolutely nothing aside from pick your car and upgrade it. Could of made a series type league with like 10 races and always same racers and do 1 race a day or something and give them bonus driving skill and points since they would only be doing 1 a day and make it longer then 3 laps.

War system was said leaders would be talked to, so a better system could be made and this was completely skipped over. Was a very good player input post in suggestions forum with a lot of the communities best ideas that could of been looked at and used.

Stock market really disagree with this one as hyper pointed out in his post there's always going to be a way to get stock for next to nothing if you change to shares required then you can still get the benefits dirt cheap when stock prices fall and if the npc is resupplying the market there will be stock available at the low times. Unless you program in some sort of minimum stock value which would allow you to set the very cheapest a stock could go.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Yeah, I'm on the game multiple times daily, I have mIRC and use it frequently. I haven't been on TC's IRC lately, but could be for hours on end.

What is your in-game age?
Age: 2,076

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
Well, I've been a player on this game for several years, I was staff at one point and I have been staff on 3 major games since. I understand life as both a player and as a developer. I am now going to school for Computer Science, so I also understand the requirements that a programmer needs to meet.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm 19, live in the US. I am going to school in New Hampshire for Computer Science. I play the guitar and work in a research laboratory on campus controlling the "Stereo Satellites"

What is your general play style in Torn?
Greedy! I am always investing, gambling. I look for ways to invest my money that presents a return. I like factions for their wars but also for the crimes that they do. Anything that makes money, I'm there.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
It's like crack. I can't stop. I've been trying to for years. I enjoy the criminal aspect and earning wealth. The people here are also pretty awesome (if you can see past the trolls)

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
To be honest, I am not generally one way or the other. I often like the idea but would tweak it slightly if I could. I am actually for the current stock update and I was for the Faction update but when it came to things such as user bars or chess... I was somewhat opposed.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
yes, i am very active. on for several hours daily, this can easily be transferred to IRC which i have access to at any time. my forum activity is very high, although i dont feel the need to post unless it is absolutely necessary... i dont waste my time spamming, i dont have subscriber status, but this just shows that i know that game well, as i predicted your updates and so bought myself alot of dps before they were removed. I imagine though that when my donator status runs out i will probably invest the 3 pounds a month.

What is your in-game age?

Age: 1,815 i have been here a while, although not aslong as other i admit.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

i think it would be good to give back to the community, i have played since i was 15, and i know pretty much everything there is to about the game. when updates come out, i dont tend to think about how it will affect short terms, but how it will affect long term. I am easy to get along with and would make sure i didnt show any bias at all.

Tell us a bit about yourself

in RL, i am a 20 year old medical student, studying in england, this shows i can analyse ideas well, and that i am intelligent. I play sports etc, as well as enjoying playing torn

What is your general play style in Torn?

i like to chain, i am part of 39th street killers, who are currently ranked 2nd, and have had some humungus chains very recently, before the HoF was reset. i also like trying to make my stats competitive, and the obvious with making money.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

my favourite area in torn, is probably the forums, when all my energy and nerve is gone, its good to be able to see what people are discussing and maybe try and put a few people right who have got the wrong end of the stick. i also like the faction community, as it gets people working together and gives you a purpose for training your stats etc.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

i am usually for the recent updates in one form or another, some of the updates had what i considered obvious flaws, for example the new chaining system, where you can just make sure the #10 #25 #50 bonuses were hit on a 1 man slutting faction and make stupid respect of one hit... but i like the fact that it is a change, and most updates seem to go down well with the majority, its just a shame people enjoying the updates never make threads ranting about how good they are.

Hope you consider me
Dave

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Game activity - I log on several times per day
IRC activity - I am logged onto IRC most of the time
Forum activity - I do not post often, but I check them regularly
Subscriber status - Annual subscription

What is your in-game age?

1,096 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I am a good troubleshooter and have an analytical approach to most situations.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am 27 years old and from Ireland. I have been an Electrician for the last 8 years but currently not working due to recession.

What is your general play style in Torn?

My play style is very mixed, it all depends what mood I'm in. I mostly train or help out faction members and people on IRC.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

It would have to be Factions and IRC. I enjoy watching my faction grow, making money in game and then giving it away to players on IRC.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I would say mostly for the updates, although a few have not had enough thought put into them before release.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Game Activity: I log in daily, numerous times and almost always have it open in a tab somewhere on one of my computers (if not both(Not that it works that way...)).
IRC Activity: I used to be on there all the time, but as I've been finishing school I've devoted more time to actual schoolwork.
Forum Activity: I usually read them day in and day out, I just don't post as much as some.
Subscriber Status: I don't have this mainly because I still have donator days/packs and don't see the need to pay money yet for something I can already have.

What is your in-game age?
Currently: 2,311 Days.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I've been a part of this game for a very long time and have seen changes come and go. I feel that I have a fairly good sense of the game and can provide insightful feedback.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I'm a 22 year old college student, nearing the end of my Bachelors Degree in Application and Game Development. I already have a job lined up as a part-time PHP developer for which I will work from home. I also have another part-time job working for Target.

What is your general play style in Torn?
I'm generally an easy going, helpful player who doesn't get offended easily.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
My favorite part of Torn is the socializing atmosphere. I play it for friends and fun. I'm a person who just trains and does crimes because I'm on here, as well as the occasional warring and chains.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
"Generally", I'm for the updates. It'd be a lie to say that I agree with all of them, but for the most part the game seems to be going in the right general direction.

Thank you for your time.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
I meet all the factors required. I am active several times a day for extended periods. (30 - 40mins at a time). I am on IRC regularly with my faction and would love to expand this to help with the committee and provide my honest opinion. I am really active on the forums, and read alot of threads each day, I also have quite a high post count in relation to my in-game age. I don't have subscriber status, only because I don't use a credit card. I would definitely do so though if I could transfer the money through mobile!

What is your in-game age?
My in-game age is currently 157 days.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
Because I know a heck of a lot about Torn for only 157 days old. In my opinion, I would say I know more than 95-96% of the Torn players. I also would love, like many others to give my honest opinion on new updates.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm from Ireland, currently a student, also have a part time job and I am hoping to get a degree in computer science when I leave school, if all goes well.

What is your general play style in Torn?
This is a hard question to answer, I don't really have a play style. But my main goal in this game is to achieve stats higher than my Real-Life friends who play this game and other users my level and age!

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
My favorite part of Torn has definitely got to be the factions system and attacking, I love the thrill of winning! But Torn has something addictive about it, not sure what it is though.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
I've agreed with many, and i've disagreed with more. An update I have agreed with is the booster cool-down update and an update I have disagreed with is the removal of DPs as items.

Thanks for reading and hope you consider my application

Edit: made the titles bold to make for easier reading.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Honestly in order to have a fair representation of the Torn Community and Citizenship, it is my belief that the subscriber requirement be null and void. I have sacrificed many hours a night when I should have been clocked in at my job, luckily what I do for employment allows for me to play as much as I do. But, sadly no, I do not meet the subscriber requirement as I do not own a Credit Card. I do however, meet all other requirements. I am active Daily, having multiple logins per day with a minimum time spent of an hour to 5hours sometimes more. During that time I read the forums, talk to people on both ingame chat and IRC, I participate in the lottos both as a prize donator and recipient and have considered applying for op, however, I am not at this point shall we say fluent in scripting and I feel I need to learn a bit more there before applying to that level.

What is your in-game age?

93Days and counting

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I am by nature an observer/mediator, I tend to look at and listen objectively to the many sides any given scenario offers. That being said, the main influence that I bring to the table is that of a first year Torn player (currently the lowest level player to apply) who admits his newb status; this is my first MMO experience, having mostly played consoles offline. To put it bluntly, I am the face of your target. What makes me tick? What keeps me playing? How can you get me to not only Donate but Subscribe? What better player could you find to help sketch out and implement the needs of the city for the long-term good.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am from a very rural community in Idaho, one of the north western states of the US. Right after High school I served several years in the Army at Ft. Bragg 82nd Airborne Div. I served as a Cannon Crew-member, Fire Direction Control, and as Forward Observer at different times during my enlistment. After my time served I sought out even more adventure by buying a guitar and hopping the first rail car I was able to catch. Many years, songs, and stories went by and I found myself back in Idaho about two years ago. I currently play multiple instruments and like to read books, write music, and have recently regained an interest in Long-range shooting as well as Fly-fishing and Falconry.

What is your general play style in Torn?

Social-Strategic meaning the goal of Torn is to be the best you can at everything you do, same as with Real Life. In order to implement this style of play into Torn I have begun building a network of players that I deem trustworthy and that have a wide range of levels and influence among other players. I am slowly building friendships on a cross-faction level. My personal goals character wise, are to build my stats to a level where I am able to place BC-before my name and _MD_ after, in essence signifying that I truly am a peoples player. Though I have not busted many, I find that I enjoy the challenge even though I receive little gratitude from those I bust. However there a few who thank me, and those I try to help as much as possible. Of course to benefit in building my social network within the game I tend to pay out for busting me when I have failed on a bust.

What is your favorite part of Torn, why do you play it?

The people, the challenge, and the heart. I love the experience of meeting and interacting with such a diverse group of people, getting to know who they are, where they live, and sharing their life experiences. I like the challenge of building my own faction (for lack of a better description) across and beyond faction lines. The heart of the game in my opinion is like my style of playSocial-Strategic, everybody wants to get to the top, but you cant do it alone. Meet people, treat them well, and rise to the top, thats the heart of the game.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

To be honest the updates and changes that have been made in the past have not affected me or my game, because I am living in them now, I know nothing else. As far as the starter missions go, they certainly helped in understanding how to get by and live in the city properly. The new Faction and Warring updates again Ive had no warring experience other than RL, I joined a faction a week before the changes went active and we immediately went to war. What I found was I spent most of my time in the hospital (as expected), however, a problem we encountered that I noticed was that one faction kicked all members except the top four leveled players and the other Faction kicked all but them self bringing it down to a one person faction then refused to fight. We search the forums but couldnt find a ruling about battling one person factions. Dps I missed that change too, Stock market, I dont own a ticker yet so Ive never played the market. I hope to one day, I am curious to see how everything turns out.

I anticipate and look forward to many discussions about the future of Torn with all of you. Thank you for reviewing my application.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I stay in touch with the public through my in-game and chat activities.

I am DrTy, 34yrs old, have a wonderful girlfriend and 5-kids in rl. I own a software company and am a member of the Secret Service. I enjoy boating and bank mainframe hacking crimes.
What is your general play style in Torn?
Get 'er done I run scammerhunt and the IRC casino channels. I enjoy helping others including new players and those with irc bot scripting questions.
What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
I'm a huge fan of faction life and gambling. The historic memories of destroying factions as the purpose of war warms my belly.
Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
I have had mixed feelings on updates. Here's a few of my thoughts:
1.Points/Donator Packs: The ability to further your game by spending cash was destructive for players but nice for the pocketbook and to further torn's development. The cap on the points value seems pointless and misguided.
2. Faction Ranking system: A great system in my opinion; I haven't heard a lot of grumbling and it seems to cure a lot of long standing problems. I will always suggest the ability to destroy factions via war and company specials.
3. Gambling updates have been awesome! Raising the limits on Blackjack and the new Roulette are fun to play. I could personally care less about chess, although I may try it once or twice.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
No. However my reason for not being a subscriber is simple, When I looked the lowest monthly subscription cost was 12months, As was the lowest annual one (of 1 year) And I do not have that much cash is one go, If there was other options e.g. 3,6,9 months as well then I would subscribe (as I said, this was the last time I looked, which was about a month ago)

What is your in-game age?
1127 days- On the day this post was made

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
Because I have been playing for a while I will have a general idea of what the people who play torn will want. I can also help improve on idea, or point out where something is maybe a little too ambitious. I generally get on well with most players.

Tell us a bit about yourself
Im 16 (on day of posting) However will probably be 17 by time this is even read. Im studying Motor Mechanics in college. Interests are Rugby, Cars(the mechanical side) and generally having a laugh.

What is your general play style in Torn?
Warring. I am an active war..er. However I also take a laid back attitude towards some aspects, for example, money, stats e.c.t. Although warring is a large part of the game, its the people that keep me logging in

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
As I have said in the above post its the people who play, and the talk in the forums and IRC that keep me coming

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past?
Some of the changes I have been against, and I made my opinion quite public on the matter.. (My warnings are all as a result) One of the changes I was against was the faction scamming change. However I quite like the new stock market reform proposal.

Do you meet all of the factors required? - yes, im very active (at least 1-2 hours aday as of now) i used to own an IRC channel and use if some times, i would use it far more if picked.
i do not have a sub status right now has i have over a year of donator status left however i have donated to this site in my past and by over Ł40 and with out a doubt im forum active

What is your in-game age? - 922 days as of posting

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee? - I myself would say Im a well known player, I talk to a lot of the players of torn and because I personally feel I would offer them a voice for others to speak through none of them really have a problem talking to me and if they ask some questions which arent dumb I will answer it quite fast and with as much detail as possible to help. I would make an ideal person to join this player committee. I also know about what most players what, the type of updates they'd find useful and beneficial. I know a lot about this game, Ive played it for a long time and Ive used my features in it, I know most things about the game and there really is nothing new to me (bar for a few things and of course the updates that come). I think I because of all this I would make a great member of the team, Im very active as well as the fact I love the idea of this system, I think that youre making a great opportunity for torn players to let you know how they feel and this will allow a better relationship with player/admin.

Tell us a bit about yourself My name is Matthew, as you may have worked out from my user name. I do a lot of gaming be it Xbox to computer games or in this case text based. Currently Im in education soon to move on to university to study Gaming and software development. I think im a loveable character once you get to know me and enthusiastic .

What is your general play style in Torn? My style of torn? Id say I am more of a player who likes to talk to other, I use the forums a lot as well as the chats that would be the main thing I use in torn, I also enjoy factions and being a team player.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it? my favourite part of torn has to be the fourms, I love being able to talk to other players and talk about subjects, torn related or not, I like being able to have fun with them and making friends.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people) I would say im against most of the recent changes however I do see why you did it.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
I am very active on both torn and IRC. I try as much as possible to make new forum posts, and I always reply to new announcements. I don't yet have a suscriber status, but I will soon be one, donating every 6 months.

What is your in-game age?
705 days.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I will be able to give my advice and opinions on various topics, and I can help solve any problems that may evolve. I love torn and its one of my favourite games, so I want to see it progress, and I would love to contribute to all updates that may appear. I have many ideas already.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am 15 years old, and I was born in and still live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am a very musical person, and I love computer games.

What is your general play style in Torn?
I like to try every option that is available. I mainly try to compete against other users and become as successful as possible. And of course I love making new friends!

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
I love the community and social aspects of the game. I like to help out other people. I also like to be successful with different things (e.g. running a successful company/faction, winning in the casino)

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
As for most people, there are both updates I like and dislike, but out of all the recent updates, there is only 1 that I still don't have thoughts on. The majority of updates are great and have benefited me. The game needs updates to keep it the best, so whether I like them or not, I still want them.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Yes, I am active in Torn City roughly 11 hours a day, though not a major forum spamer I do cruse the forums and post when I have something useful to contribute. My down time in Torn is often spent on IRC (Name: SlaveGirl)

What is your in-game age?
Age: 138 days of dodging dirty bombs, ruthless muggers & Bounty hunters lol

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
Though I am new to Torn City I am not new to games in general. I approach all issues with an open mind and in an analytical way, from a strategic standpoint as well as a source of entertainment. through all of this I keep one thing in mind; This is a game and how you play is a style that is unique to each user and so should be respected.
I feel I can offer a point of view with an open mind as well as accept constructive criticism. Sadly the early attempts to form this committee on IRC were unsuccessful and I would be honored be part of a more structured approach to forming a solid team.

Tell us a bit about yourself
Hmmm.... Im a multi-tasking type of person normally dividing my time between my bio-chem. classes and working with the volunteer fire and ambulance companies. Im outgoing and often called a smartass.

What is your general play style in Torn?
I have tried several styles of game-play here in Torn, I think my style is a combination of several. I started off as a level holder with a focus on promoting my Bazaar, in doing so it allowed me the opportunity to be in the hospital often thus increasing traffic and profit to my bazaar, recent changes in Torn (faction war method) have recently nudged me from level holder to drug using hard core stat trainer to become more aggressive.

What is your favorite part of Torn, why do you play it?
Torn, as I stated above offers a unique diversity of people, players from different cultures, and diverse forms of game play so I would have to say I like the people watching the most followed by the sense of true community, with as much to learn as truly moving to a new city.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past?
As with all changes I was apprehensive at first but some degree of trust must be given to the development team in that they are working to improve the overall game play (and in doing so ensuring job security )

Tell us a bit about yourself

i am a person who can give my own opinions, i also have many suggestions / minor tweaks that can be added into the game without any hassle, and i'm a normal guy, who does normal stuff, like the rest of us, unless you can call torn citizens normal! oh yeah and im addicted to this game! #:)

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Yes, I am very active in game. I can be available on IRC all evening (Torn time), I am very active in the forums as you can see by my forum posts. I shall be a subscriber when my donator days run out. (I bought donator days with real cash)

What is your in-game age?

Age: 849 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I think I would be a good member of the committee because I can both listen to other peoples opinions but also give my own opinion and stand up for something I believe in, If I really feel it will benefit a lot of people. Do you meet all of the factors required?

Well kind of everything especially the irc part but im being a bit less active due to exams; except the subscriber part.

What is your in-game age?

1256 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

Well because i view most updates and other changes to the game in a different view than most players and seem to understand the long-term benefit.
Tell us a bit about yourself

Well i am a bit of Torn addict , im currently studying and will major in electrical energy and computer science.

What is your general play style in Torn?

Well basically, its trade, gambling and chaining.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

My favorite part is gambling and chaining. Gambling because its not real money, i can get it back easily, its fun, and helps circulate money

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Well i was against the Dp and the points update since it put me back, but i understand that because before anyone could get a dp easily with just 100 points, and getting 100 points is pretty easy because as you play the game, you tend to stumble across at least something worth a 5million or some things that add up to 5 million and can get a dp easily. But now you have to actually buy one using Real money that contributes towards the development of the game and also does not make it very common which now makes it a bit more unique when being a donator. I was also against the the BJ update as it is taking all my money away but it is also a good update because i also won a lot of money. My most favorite updates yet are the faction rankings, the new sidebar and the some of the gambling changes. Oh yeah, the new layout of the news paper and the Hof is pretty sick too!

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I'm very active in game being online normally 4 times a day, I however don't use the forums or IRC a great deal because I don't really have a great need, if something comes up such as an issue or I need to sell something then I will happily take part. And if brought onto the committee I would definitely be on the forums as much as required. I'm not currently a subscriber as I'm now a student and have to pay for things like food, however in the past I was a donator for quite some time.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I would be a good member of the player committee because I am on a committee that decides regulations for a racing series so i know a lot about making decisions as a group and i'm a very active member of their forums explainingdecisions etc. secondly I have in the past constructed an online game for my own enjoyment so know a reasonable amount about coding and planing required to implement updates etc.

I'm a 19 year old engineering student in London, I have a great interest in cars and computing.

What is your general play style in Torn?

I guess I just try and have fun, I don't have any real targets or anything I just do what I do for enjoyment

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

My favourite part would have to be the companies. I was very exited when it was released and very much enjoyed trying my hand at being a director.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I don't think there has been an update I've not agreed with I understand why they are brought in and in the main I think it has been done well, the only problem being i think is the current lack of points.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
As im a trader it would have to be trading! I enjoy to merch (buy and sell) and it also is a social game to talk to nice people. I enjoy every aspect really.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
Im a bit of both, i have not agreed with some updates along with probably everyone but i enjoy the eagerness of a new update and to see what it can offer. And after any update if you dont like it or like it you build and adjust around it.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

A) Game Activity - Very active.
B) IRC Activity - Have IRC, can use it as needed
C) Forum Activity - 781 posts, +135 score
D) Subscriber status - Subscriber (yearly)

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

Because I own my own business and know the rigors of leadership, work on two national committees, and am often elected to represent the views of others. I'm also 33, so I would guess I'm on the older side for a player, which would add some perspective/diversity to the panel. I also have a sense of finance, so I could cut right through a lot of the odd discussion that goes on that misuses and abuses words like 'inflation' and 'economy.' I am also in no way connected to the developers or staff of the game, and do not know them, which is super important if positive change is the goal -- I am more interested in making the game fun for prospective players and non-gamers.

Tell us a bit about yourself

33, live in Brooklyn, NY, USA, am a successful professional, am not a programmer but have designed websites an iPhone apps as part of other projects. I play sports, cards (especially poker, not the kind on Torn -- have had an ESPN ranking for years), and music (bunch of instruments, singer too, even rap on stage at a club around here occasionally). Life's pretty good, frankly.

What is your general play style in Torn?

I set goals and then complete them, goals that are usually independent of the guides. While I read tcbasic and other guides, I usually set them for myself -- currently, I am just finishing the 100 finishing hits and in the middle of 1000 assassinations -- I don't really strive for experience, nerve bar, or other things in the guides -- the one exception is getting stock benefits, which has made the game easier, not having to worry about money. I like to have as many different types of awards and merits as possible. When it comes to attacking, I have gotten over being afraid of the whitescreen -- I think the attacking system is an important part of the game.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I like that the game does not require real-time vigilance or any arcade-type action. You play, you run out of energy, nerve, money, etc., then you come back later. I like changes that add features to the game and give citizens more to do. I think, beyond basic chat, the IRC and real-time elements of the game diminish its quality and value -- it is just hard to get mass buy-in to a game with three different communication systems -- it is only worth having 'addicts' of a game if they can spend money and increase the universe for everyone else in my estimation.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Almost every change has had real positives and negatives:

A) I think it was nice to reset the racing system, but I also think you could have just let veteran players buy into that system if they really wanted to instead of just a rest.

B) The competitions and holiday events are usually pretty fun, but not a lot of proofreading went into the text (Word would have picked up 90% of the errors).

C) The Sidebar 2.0 is nice and adds something, but City Watch was an odd use of time by the programmers, as it didn't really affect game play because of the type of game this is.

D) Stock splitting made good sense in order to simulate a stock market, but getting rid of donator packs without warning caused a lot of veteran players to stop playing because the economy was just getting set with that.

E) Changes in the censoring and fedding system are probably the most confusing. Someone got fedded "for pissing me off," some repeat offenders are hardly punished, and there are tons of swears, middle fingers, and X-rated pictures on profiles. This is a game about crime -- I wish the moderators were a lot less sensitive. Graveyarding discussions is just arbitrary at this point, and stickies are never announced, so it adds to a pretty irregular experience there.

Noob who is reformed and now works FOR the prison system. That's me, love it or leave it. I'll marry you if you're rich, but I ain't never gonna be.... I'll take you out for Big Macs or whatever, but find someone else to keep you icy.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I am online alot during the day and sometimes the night and am almost always in IRC, I am a subscriber but my forum posts are fairly low.

What is your in-game age?

1158 days young

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I am a member of of several commitees in RL, and am used to dealing with controversial issues in a reasonable and confidential manner, I can look ahead and see the good in updates even if I dont always like the immediate effect, and id like to have more involvement in the torn community.

Tell us a bit about yourself

Im 28, live in the UK, im married (which is the worst commitee to be on), with 2 kids, and I work in retail.

What is your general play style in Torn?

Im not really sure I usually, until recently i was a very quiet player who simply logged in to train and do crimes, I guess im striving to be moderate in stats and wealthy in assets

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

My favourite part of torn is probably the fact that it is ever changing there is always new things like halloween town and awards to go after, I guess at the moment im focusing on stats as mine are incredibly low.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Generally I have been for updates the only one that paniced me was probably the latest one announced, however the update to the announcement helped to put it a little more into perspective, and although I will lose benefits im fairly sure that I will be able to regain them at some stage in the near future.
