- Do not post in here unless it is an application

- Do not post more than once, if you want to change an application, edit it.

This has been placed in suggestions forum to get it out of the way. Applications only here please.

Factors required
Game Activity - We can view the players activity, recruiting very active players is important.
IRC Activity - It is important for members to have IRC and be online several hours per day as discussions will be held here.
Forum Activity - Members will need to address and communicate with other players on the Forums. Discussions will also be made on updates in a special hidden forum.
Subscriber status - Having subscriber status reassures us that users have the best intentions and that they want to make decisions for the good of the game - and they're willing to make a sacrifice for it.

Rules
Members are not allowed to talk about certain updates and ideas with the public unless authorised or announced to the public by us or until a committee vote' is made public. (We do not want updates or changes made public until they are a real possibility).
Members cannot quote admins or developers directly while speaking to the public unless authorised. (We want the ability to freely speak with the committee without checking every word. Also quotes can be out of context.)

Answer the following questions, we will let you now if you're accepted. Try to be detailed.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

What is your in-game age?

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

Tell us a bit about yourself

What is your general play style in Torn?

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Please lay out your application like Jimmy (2 posts below). Using underlines for the question, and your response below each one.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I am very active in game, IRC, and forum but I am not a subscriber because I have 180 days of donator status saved up. I will subscribe when these run out.

What is your in-game age?

1232 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I would be a good member of the player committee because I can foresee long term problems that can and will happen, and also am somewhat intelligent and can find alternate solutions to problems that would work for the long term and short term.

Tell us a bit about yourself

Well, I'm 34 years old, live in the US, have a son... not sure if this what you mean

What is your general play style in Torn?

I would guess my play style is to strive to be the best I can be.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

Aside from the social aspects of Torn, my favorite game element would have to be factions and warring.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Obviously there's been some updates I don't agree with, but for the most part I am for them. Even though some updates set me back personally, I do see the necessity for them, and agree they're good for the game.

I am a subscriber, quite active, and am somewhat active in forums. I don't spend much time on IRC but am familiar with it's workings.

What is your in-game age?

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I enjoy challenging ideas and problem solving.

I am 23 years old living in Canada. I enjoy hockey, hiking, and other stereotypical Canadian things!

What is your general play style in Torn?
I love to mug people, and am a fan of most of the competitions.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
It's a fun game. Even all of the controversy is fun. You might not always agree with what is going on but it is interesting to read and participate in the debate.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
I have found many of the updates to have obvious negative effects, but am able to see the reason for them. Obviously all of the problems in the game that are trying to be resolved don't have an easy and simple solution (or everything would be perfect). What I like about updates in general is that it shows an effort is being made to understand the issues.

My player style would be Outgoing/fun. I do a little bit of everything.

My favorite part of Torn would be Factions. This is, because of all the people i have meet and became friends with. Networking never really hurts right?

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

For the most part i'm for the updates. There has been a few i just don't agree with, but you can't keep everybody happy with them all. So i got used to them and learned to play the game with them.

What is your in-game age?
Age: 212 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
It depends on the updates, The donation thing was good and bad. Was good for the reason of taking the easy money people were making, Bad because there is no way for us to donate for others.
The Halloween/Xmas cool down was kinda bad. But for the drugs/fhc yea
The new tool bar.. YEA!! Though id like to be able to customize it

hehehe

I laugh at those who opposed the thread in GD.

1)
Do you meet all of the factors required?
No...

I am active, and I almost live in the forums, mainly suggestions. You can simply look though and you'll see me soon enough. (Just to prove I am active... its 5 am in the UK... don't look at me like that, you live in the UK too)

I don't really like IRC because... most of the time I just see no benefit to going on it and talking about random crap. However I have used it before and if part of this, I'd use it... most likely for the committee only.

I am a student at college, therefore poor. My family also isn't well off. I have donated in the past and also it was all my (parents) money. Now-er days I am forced to spend my money on useful things... and there are almost no decent jobs in Herefordshire >.> If it becomes a colossal issue then I could subscribe... if I decided not to go out at all for a month... (Which I would do if it got me a place).

2)
What is your in-game age?
1098 days old
Not ancient, although according to that mission I am

3)
Why would I be good?

I am a good natural critic of anything. I have grown up analysing and reviewing my own writing (see below***) and I can look at things and can see the potential of them and predict their effect on the game.

I have stayed in suggestions... well roughly since I was 67 or 63 days old when I suggested something along the lines of "Dragons Den" company investment idea and then a "Torn City Charity Organisation" idea... which I then carried though for a while, until scamming was made legal and I dropped it in fear people would assume it was a scam. But I digress.

I make very few suggestions but I haven't made a "half-arsed" one since my original two.

Most recent would be this:
http://www.torn.com/forums.php?forumID=4&ID=12655076
Please just respond to it

Another was my suggestion on a way to reform the voting system in order to encourage people to use it. You then removed Voting all together without telling anyone why. You (considerably) later reviled in my suggestion that the reason it was removed and therefore why my suggestion was sadly void was due to the fact it did not benefit Torn from new people joining the site by seeing it on the sites, but instead the sites themselves with us gracing them with our presence

Finally just look at suggestions in general. I am mostly swearing, heckling and piss-taking but when I am not, I am giving constructive criticism or dissecting a suggestion to prove that it would not really work.

4)
Tell us a bit about yourself
My real name is Jamie, I am 17 at college.
I am studying: Economics, Government and Politics, Chemistry and Computing.
In my January modular exams I got an A for Economics, B in Chemistry and a U in Gov & Pol because I was a div and mis-labelled one of my answers. I didn't have one in computing >.>
I am dyslexic and heavily rely on spell checking, although my word processing is infinitely superior to my appalling hand written work. It means i often write slowely but it does mean*** I tend to re-read everything I write and have analysed my own work before I post... although there is often one little damn error left in >.>

5)
What is your general play style in Torn?
Do the basics, go to suggestions, have a look at them and have some banter with in-game friends.

I do other things but that is the primary thing. Recently I have began to flower run to stock up for the museum. I am in a faction with a "world ranking" of #111 so I do give a some concern to that aspect of the game

6)
What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
Suggestions. It is new, it is every changing, it gives me a chance to look at things and also banter with friends a tad.

...

To be perfectly honest I don't know why I still play but its just a game where you keep on coming back no matter what And Suggestions is the thing I return to and return for.

7)
Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past?
Generally for.............

I see the methods you are trying to achieve but hell I really disagree with some of the ways you have gone to achieve it

First off, factions, I don't really care so your updates are neutral
Graphical additions are just improvements made over time. Unless you spent a year on that side bar no one can really complain.
The additions to gambling like graphical poker and roulette... personally I think its a waste, however I agree that it is general progression with the advance of computing and the internet standards so... fair enough... I guess.
I liked the improvement to dog tags, you can check your thread yourself
The new rewards for referring players, I am cool with that. Its a good feature which encourages long term activity... and the delay in levelling also gives you lot time to catch any multies

Now... Points... and donator status. I would say don't get me started normally but, you asked

Well firstly I think the massive rise of points prices(the very first one, I was there - 86K was what it got to when I last saw, before the cap was added) was set to be a catastrophe. You put that cap and unlimited supply out of sheer bloody panic! It was a blunt crude solution that would stop the immediate increase. I agree with that. From there on however there needed to be another solution... and... well... you were was lazy or content for lack of foresight...

The cap and infinite supply worked in the market at the time so you kept it. This in my opinion was the wrong thing to do. It would have been fine to keep it for a few months but it was there for about a year.

What we needed there and then was a cap on the amount of points both a player and a person could own. This would stop the ridiculous increases in prices to be possible. Someone would only be able to have a certain amount on you at a time, and if you had any more then you could not buy any more. (DP's activating could add to your total but thats of no real consequence)
If that was added at the time then... that its! Points would not be a viable bank. As soon as the infinite supply was removed then points would have continued to be bought and sold, there would be times of market emptiness but as there was not an atrociously high demand price rises couldn't of continued.

However with points being of infinite supply COMBINED with the constantly increasing prices of DP's lead to points being a viable alternative to get Donator Status (With respect... what the f**k were you thinking? ), and then... for some reason you tampered with the points market first!
Why? I'll never know but you ruined the market because the demand for points had risen so so so so much because it was a bank AND now gave away free donator status.

Finally you bit the bullet and removed donator status for 100 points, which... should have done first...

However, the damage was done and all you could do with DP's was what he has done to them. You made it so everyone must buy their own... sad but it was the only real option left as the excessive prices of DP's meant very few people would buy them. It was that or mass suppliers buying tones of DP's and get seriously large amounts of money at the age of <10.

That said... you haven't done everything you could do, see my suggestion:
http://www.torn.com/forums.php?forumID=4&ID=12655076

I digressed severely there but, hopefully you see that I have potential for the committee

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Yes I read the forums just don't usually post but i will be more active if i get involved with this committee.

What is your in-game age?
1887

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I think i would be a good member because i like to think whats better for torn not myself. I want this game to be fun and not fall. If i had somewhat of a say i feel i could help make torn better and more fun than ever before. This will be a good idea to listen to others and give positive criticism to torn and its new updates and the future of the game

Tell us a bit about yourself
Well im a 20 year old guy been running an online gaming community for a year now. I work college all that fun stuff

What is your general play style in Torn?
Train, fight wars, chain and have fun

What is your favorite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I play torn basically because you can do lots of things like make money do crime and have fun. It is a game where you don't have to be on all day but if you want to you can. Torn is a game where you can make your own path and do what you think will make you better than your opponent. I like you also can do things you would go to jail for in real life. Overall great game that's why i have been playing many years.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past?

I agree with most of the updates. But some are not all great. I feel i could help weed out the good from the bad. I feel Torn is going in a better direction with some updates but with some going backwards. With this committee this could help out Torn to be better than ever before.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Yes and if selected for the committee I will increase my forum and IRC activity.

What is your in-game age?
1649 Days.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I think that I would be a good committee member because I play Torn daily and have always been active supporter of it. I also know what it takes to create new something from the planning stages to the release stage.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm a 20 year Canadian and am currently a student studying computer engineering. I like to spend time outdoors camping and biking as well as hanging out with my friends.

In my spare time I am a freelance web and software designer as well as operating a computer repair business for local companies.

What is your general play style in Torn?
My play style is whatever the current situation requires but I am generally peaceful. Although during a faction war I will be right in their with my fellow members fighting for our faction.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
My favourite part of Torn would have to be all the recent faction changes, especially to the warring system. With the warring system the addition of the faction ranks has made it easier to see your current staining among other factions as well as gives you better strategic options. It has also made it a lot more fair and a fun.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
I have always been for the updates that have been made especially the ones that have been implemented to bring the economy under control.

Casino - I have liked the poker one and play it every now and than and I really enjoy it.
Chess - I have been looking forward to this as I am an avid player.
Faction - I have been thoroughly enjoying the new warring system and the faction ranks brings a new calibre of challenge.
Racing - The new system was a much needed improvement from the old system and has been a lot more fun.
Aesthetic - The new sidebar looks good and the fill timer is nice.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Yes, i'm on torn as much as possible during the day and night, I am also in various irc channels active as well in there, i try to be as active as possible in the forums, while I may not post the most constructive things I'm more then happy to change that. Lastly I am a subscriber, and very happy to be one.

What is your in-game age?

925 days old

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I'd like to think of myself as one of the little guys, one who doesn't have necessarily the in-game stats and cash, which mean some updates effect or don't effect me compared to others. I like this game and i would love to see it continue strong and would like to help in this cause. I am also a decent problem solver and I work well with others.

Tell us a bit about yourself

19 year old male from the US, I go to community college, play lacrosse for the school as well as in a local dart league.

What is your general play style in Torn?

I'd say helping, as i like bailing people out when i have spare cash, i give out things in irc, try to help young players, also every decision i make is focused around the betterment of my faction, as its my pride of this tour around torn since i returned in July.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I enjoy running a company, but by far my favourate thing is factions. I love warring and chaining, so much so I'm now having to play catch up with my stats, but its still fun. Getting on irc with the boys and running a chain down to the last drop of E is what its all about.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

As i have become more active in the game and community, i found that some updates i either liked before or had no opinion on are now a hindrance to myself and the community, though for the most part its 50/50 on what i positively like and what I don't.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
I am active and registered on IRC, Teamspeak, Talk/browse in forums. I also jumped at the chance to become a subscriber the moment it was available. I hoped the funds would help the game go forward.

What is your in-game age?
Age: 1485 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I have played Torn for a long time and have seen many changes in Torn throughout the time I have spent. The game is very different from when I started, and a lot of the updates have been exciting. I would love to have a seat in helping shape the future of Torn and its direction going forward. I have a lot of opinions and will always have something to say about an update or feature for the game, and I am not afraid to voice my opinion whenever there is something needing to be discussed.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am 23 years old (24 in a week) and from South Dakota, US. I have a wonderful girlfriend and love spending time with friends (whenever I venture away from my PC that is). In my spare time I like to play Torn, talk on IRC and Teamspeak, and just relax and have a good time.

What is your general play style in Torn?
Economic. I am a fan of games involving economics and strategy. I try to play torn in a similar play style. Maximizing profits and collecting display items are my main interests in Torn.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
My favorite part of torn is the community and the people in it. Games are not only just words on a screen, but are comprised of real people from all over the world. That is by far the most exciting part of Torn, meeting new people.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
For the most part, I have been okay with a lot of the updates, some of the updates have been quite upsetting however. In the end most worked out for the best, but some seem to be very un-welcomed by the playing community.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Yes I meet all the required factors. I am VERY active. Over 2000 logins since Jan/11

What is your in-game age?
1712 days old I have been here for a very long time. back when we had the dogs hint hint

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I am not sure I can say why I would be a good member of the player committee, i think it best some of my friends tell you why I would be good for it. Since others are a better judge then ones self. You can just go through my mail and pick names at random.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a gamer. I love games and computers. I like learning anything I can and giving idea where granted. I would just love to be apart of something to help Torn to be a better place and funner for new members.

What is your general play style in Torn?
I am a war munger. I love attacking. I have over 2000 attacks since Jan/11. I am also a trader. I buy and sell items as much as I can.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
Torn when I started was alot like my life at the time. I mean almost every single part of TC. I got into and just stuck with it. I can't say I like all the updates that have been made. But I like most of them. I have an idea or two to help put even more money into Torn.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? In truth that question is no good. Because I do like most of the updates. But not every single one.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I meet 3 out of the 4 factors. I'm very active in the game in many aspects, but sadly IRC is not one of them. Never really had a reason to get on, but I am familiar with the layout of IRC and know how to use it.

What is your in-game age?

Being as this is not my first account, it's close to 1400 days minus a year of being away so close to 1000 of day to day playing.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I have a very neutral standpoint on any and all arguments so I'd be able to weigh in on new updates, both the negative and positive sides of it.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm 21 years old. I'm a full time college student in the morning and I build birdhouses in the evening to pay for school.

What is your general play style in Torn?

I use the forums a lot to interact with other players and like to advance my only game play through watching how others play theirs.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I've touched on this a bit earlier in the post but I'd have to say the forums 9 times out of 10. Being as I frequent them so much I have grown accustomed to interacting with others on an almost day to day basis. The 1 time out of the 10 would have to go to the game in general. The way it changes over time and never stays the same for too long intrigues me and I'd love to see myself helping in the process.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

No person is going to like all the updates, but there are occasions where I've been against and for some. I've never been dead set negatively against any update so I'd say I've been happy a majority of the time with them.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Yes though my Subscriber Status is from using Donator Packs

What is your in-game age?

942 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I can look at another persons side of the story and I do not take this game seriously. Life or death event.

Its just a game and as such I can treat it with ways to make it fun

Tell us a bit about yourself

Im 17. Live in New Zealand and refuse to leave my pc unless I need to go to work.

What is your general play style in Torn?

To be rich and sucessful yet to have fun

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I love talking to other people on IRC and giving free things away, I do this because it is both fun for me and fun for the person recieving.

The things dont even have to be worth much to be fun. Still. Value is the most appreciated thing in the game

If you are not rich. Most people do not bother talking to you.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I like some of the updates and changes such as the Roulette change and Rare weaponry/Housing auction.

The Roulette gives more choices and the auctions put money back into the game. The richer you are. The more you bid. Then the poorer you are and the more you need to earn.

However I dont approve of the future upgrade for the stock market, the donactor packs and points.

I think the ideas should have been thought about and a agreement reached between the players and the staff.

Not just take them away all together with the players having no say in the matter which directly effects only them.

I do not meet IRC and Forum Activity requirements, however that can be changed easily if needed.

What is your in-game age?

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
That's not up to me to decide if really. However, I noticed Torn undergoing some bad changes, I hope this committee can change something.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
Too much time spent to quit it...

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Game Activity - I am online all day long (whenever my job permits me to be)
IRC Activity - I have used IRC quite a lot a few years back, now I only use it to chain together with my faction. Since we've got the in-game chat, I don't see the benefit for IRC anymore. Of course, with the player committee, that would change!
Forum Activity - I try to be active in the faction & company forums. I read the general discussion forums as well, but I don't post that much.
Subscriber status - I am a subscriber

What is your in-game age?
1770 days at this moment

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I'm an unbiased player, been here since nearly the beginning of Torn.
I can easily see 'the whole picture' and really want the game to grow even further.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm 25 years old, live in Belgium.
I have a full-time job, which luckily enables me to be online @ Torn a lot. (I'm an IT-support engineer)

What is your general play style in Torn?
I take pride in honesty and strive to be the best player I can be. I'm a very loyal faction member, and my employees will be able to tell you I'm very dedicated to my company.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
The community in general.
I love being a director and watching my company grow & get more productive.
I love chaining & helping fellow faction members.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past?
Obviously there were some updates I liked (new missions for example), and some updates I didn't like (the booster cooldown for example).
Also some updates I think that aren't quite finished yet : the sidebar 2.0 looks nice, but it makes the rest of the game look old.
Some updates I didn't like at first (the DP change), but when looking at the greater picture it actually makes sense.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

i am very active i dont use IRC allthough i could if need be

What is your in-game age?

i think your lazy for asking but 1361 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

i am very passionet about my opinions and i can understand long and short term problems and i am never one to be scarred of voicing my opinions in reality or in game

Tell us a bit about yourself

well in reality im 17 i whent to colege but i droped out as i dident find the work chalenging enough unfortunatly im in a catch 22 as when i moved house and transfered schools i dident have enough time to do any GCSE's so any colege i go to will probabley be one filled with morons or perhapse thats what the average person is like but they rearly just seamed to be a bunch of brainless chavs

in game i started up very badly my first year i was attacked and later bountied constantly by a high level player who was bored of the game and to keep himself interested in the game he tried to get people to quit i managed to last a year untill i amassed enough cash to finaly tell him to go **** himself and that i was not going to quit i had enough morphine to neve rhave to see white for more than 5 minutes and he left me alone

later on there wasent rearly much done a few friends made here enemies there etc it wasent untill feb last year that anything interesting happend my bank cam eout with 2.4bill and i reinvested 2bill and i spent 400mill on HRG GRN and TCHS benifits

with my benifits skims and my bank coming out a few mroe times and buying and selling things i managed to get TCB TMI and IOU

then after that i started buying and selling stock buy TCHS at 10% sell at 15% for example and soon enough i whent from just a few benifits to 20 allthough it did take 3 months of god damn constant work my mails sent when up from about 2000 to 3000 to 15000 because of the amount of people i had to deal with

then after i got all the ebnifits i wanted i started to just sell skims of and i have started buying stock back for long term investments but now the new update looks to be destroying the player to player expirience that people had loved the carefull balence of % it was truly a game made by the players with rules we made and now it will be a generic bs selling to the system system

What is your general play style in Torn?

earn cash put all other things aside and then when i have enough cash start trying to up my stats

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

the stock market for now soon it will be a ghost town like the points market

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

yes i disagree with many of them but many of the past ons needed to be done but the recent ones seam to make no sense what so ever first the points market being broken and you just left it you never whent of to fix it

the donator packs why not work under the old system where newbies brought extra ons and sold to other players now only a few people have it and wtf is up with the 365+ doantor days

or the recent stock amrketi dont think you know anything about the current stock market exept its fiqures how much cash it pumps out in % etc you dont undertsand how organic and awsome it is having to trade with people making friends new contacts working out a deal with people etc now that comunity will be dead

in a closing statment i dont think you will add me into the team as you probably will uphold that no filthy none subscriber part above any other requirment integrity being open voiced etc

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Sadly, due to RL constraints, my IRC time is limited.

What is your in-game age?

2230 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I am an veteran player who has seen the game develop, as well as the developer. I've always tried to argue from the macro-perspective (allthough this wasn't always interpreted that way, sadly). I tend to think further than the average person, bringing up issues and risks not many have thought of before.
I am also a critical person, who can be a PITA. So get me in the committee, convince me, and you got a strong advocate for changes.

Tell us a bit about yourself

31 years old, finance professional working for an educational organization. Passion for sustainability. Love to read. Dutch (which sometimes leads to culture clashes, because the Dutch are a bit more direct in their communications than English are, so native English speakers sometimes interpret something as an attack or complaint, while it is simply a nice little chat).

What is your general play style in Torn?

I used to be addicted, wanting to be the best of everything. Sleepless nights trying to get my faction through the war and forgetting to do my homework. Thank god, I now have a bit more balanced gamestyle, where the game is for fun, and RL is my priority

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

I stuck around for the people. Recent changes (to factions) have managed to grab my interest again. I like the warring, but also the relationships which can develop from unexpected sides. As a whole, I like the fact that the game and community can often suprise you (both positively and negatively).
What I do like a lot less, is the inability to get a long term strategy working. I am sure you (Chedburn) remember what I am referring to.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Most times I spoke out was about updates which were not favourable. Let's just say I got a direct connection with the Vaseline factory. However, I see changes in the way changes are made, and most recent changes have been quite positive (allthough they have hurt me, such as the loss of peaceful status, after I spent a few 1000 respectpoints on increase the amount of peaceful days).

I am worried about the stock market update (as I might lose a few billion, and I didn't skim), but I recognize something needs to be done.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
Game Activity, Forum activity and IRC definitely, YES.
Subscriber status: No I don't, reason being I don't have my own credit card nor does my dad believe in e-payments due to frauds taking place, though I really plan to have it once I do part-time jobs.

What is your in-game age?

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I play this game for the 70% time of my day, which comes around as 10 hours or more, I have dedicated this game a lot, I have also played this game till 3 a.m., not once but several times, so there has to be something that keeps me attracted to it, Torn is one of a kind and when you play with heart and spend more time, the more interest you get and better you become. So it would surely be great to help this game become more interesting and be the best game. Since I have player the game for such a long time, I do now where the game needs improvements and which ones have been ignored.

I have recently cleared my IGCSE International Exams.
What is your general play style in Torn?
I am not much of a attacker but I do play with money and test the new updates on my own, even if it means to losing money. Currently, I re-sell several items
What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
Money making, meeting new people, of different countries, origins which expands my knowledge and interests me in knowing about other people's lifestyle. Some things, like making strategies to do business in Torn which will definitely help me some time in my RL.
Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
Some updates such as the current new sidebar added is not appealing, it puts some links below my screen and is little confusing to use, probably because new and yes, it is still not completely done, such as customization, so I also think it should have been completely designed and than put up.

Do you meet all of the factors required?
3 of 4, though I will make a decision whether to donate on a regular basis once my donator days run out

What is your in-game age?
2024

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?
I have a good eye for detail, so I'm able to look at all implications of an idea from different angles. I am a former staff member, and I think having experience will give me the insight to consider changes both from the view of those implementing them and those who it effects. I have a deep knowledge of the game, having been very active for over 5 years and seeing many of the changes it has gone through

I also have some specific experience in my real job which I think will help here. I have been involved in developing various systems, where my role has been to produce the design and specification documents for the developers. I therefore understand what information developers/coders are looking for from an initial idea.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm 26, I work full time, enjoy my sports(watching and playing) and have a good sense of humour(wait, this is sounding like an ad in a dating column...I think I should just leave the rest to intrigue!)

My job involves managing a few people but I am predominantly in charge of a number of important surveys, my job being to perform analysis using a variety of tools. I've also done a fair bit of development work(see previous question), and I enjoy the challenges all this brings.

What is your general play style in Torn?
Fight hard, play hard, gamble hard!!
I've been in Hall of Fame factions most of my time here, so have seen all that has changed there. I trade alot(have you seen my car collection!) and I gamble a little too but I like to dip in to most areas of the game at some stage during my time online

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?
Still has to be factions and more specifically warfare. It is still the single best thing that can bring together groups of people in this game. I've made lots of friends that way. Also a big fan of the bookie(when I win)

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)
Generally, I am.....indifferent.
Some of the so-called 'smaller' updates are what I consider the best. It's the little things that can sometimes make the whole experience more fun. Some of the bigger ones, though with some faults, are well thought out and so I try not to be too against an update unless I really think it's to the detriment of a certain group of players.

I am active in game once again, and IRC active again. I post in forums when I feel I have something to contribute, I dont post simply for the sake of posting. I am not a subscriber because I have a few donator packs still that I was planning on using before subscribing otherwise they would effectively become useless.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I think I would be a good member of the player committee as I have always had the best overall interest of the game at heart, not simply what is best for my own gameplay.

My perspective from being an Admin of the game for so long has assisted in helping me develop a wide reaching perspective to try to incorporate ideals that benefit all aspects of players, not merely those who may be more vocal.

I still play and enjoy this game and want to assist in enhancing it far in to the future.

What is your general play style in Torn?

Totally drug free and do things my own way, incorporating various tactics to enhance my gameplay. I play poker, invest, race, etc., but the most interesting part is the personal interactions whether via forums, mail or IRC..

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

There are many aspects of torn I enjoy, the social aspects, forums, the changing styles, factions and warring (yes I know I haven't done much of it lately, but I still enjoy it), companies. Competitions are always fun. What I enjoy is constantly changing depending on what my focus is at that moment.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

Mostly for. there have been a number opf updates I have been against, however I have also understood the necessity to attempt new things. . Even if something does not affect myself, I do understand the need for constant improvements and can see the overall benefits for the game for the long term as opposed to the benifits for the few for the short term.

No, I don't have subscriber status, but I'm active.

What is your in-game age?

710 days.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

Because I'm just a normal player who plays this game for pure fun and social reasons. So I'll be really objective if a new update is released.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

Definitely the IRC part, it's a really good way of socializing and meeting new people around the world. Other than that, the whole faction stuff is good for learning both how to lead and how to become a member.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I'm mostly against them as I think they're helping new players too much and neglecting old players.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

Yes, I meet each of the listed requirements. I am active in the game as much as my busy schedule allows. I am also heavily active on IRC, I have been for some time. I am not a stranger to IRC, Torn's IRC server or mIRC. My IRC nickname is Onions. Also, I meet the subscription requirement.
With the forum requirement, even though it may not look it, I actually do use the forums quite a bit. I watch General Discussion the most, and read all of the announcements. Even though I do not post all the time I read a thread, I still read use the forums, just don't post often.

What is your in-game age?

My in game age is 489 days, and I have been an active player from the start of these 489 days.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I think Id be a good member of the player committee for several reasons.
One of these reasons is the way I found the game. I found Torn, over a year ago, by hearing about it mentioned by a few of my friends at the time. When I got home, I remembered the name and was curious. I decided to Google Torn and clicked the first link I saw - which brought me here. I want other people to also have this experience; I feel that Torn should have advertising by mouth - from people to people, and not just only on the internet. The only way for this to actually happen is for people to enjoy the game enough to want to introduce their friends and family.

Another reason is simply because I enjoy the game, and want to see it improve - a game that stays the same is simply boring, and quickly falls to the bottom.

The final reason I believe I would be a good member of the player committee is because I want to push this opportunity of a select bunch of players in Torn having a say in Torn as far as I can, being a part of it myself.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I was born in Melbourne, Australia, and live there now, going to school Mondays to Friday. I love playing music; I play the flute, and have done so for nearly 5 years, and have also played the piano for just over a year now.

What is your general play style in Torn?

My general play style is to make investments for my future Torn account, and to have as much fun/enjoyment as I can while doing so.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

My favourite part of Torn is the community. The community is one of the most vital parts of the whole game. Without the community, I would have quit a long time ago, and wouldnt have looked back.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

This entirely depends on the update. I am not usually the one, sitting down, ranting about how This update was useless, whats the point? or This update is unfair!
However, as a generalization, I, of course, do not like some of the updates, but on most cases, I usually either agree with the update or see why the update was a necessity/benefits the game.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I am very active in game, IRC, and somewhat on forums....i read it daily but don't make worthless comments and try to make ones that mean something. I'm not presently a subscriber because I do have 99 days left of donator status

What is your in-game age?

2124 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

Well I'm one of the oldest players left in TC...I was here in the very beginning. I can see why changes need to be made even if they don't give me an advantage.

Tell us a bit about yourself

37 years old, live in Hawaii and play torn 16 hours a day

What is your general play style in Torn?

Always trying to be a top notch player and just hate to lose..always want to win

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

Has to be contests, chaining, gambling and training...kinda sounds like 90% of the game. Its almost by habit that I play...I mean I have made some RL friends as well as tons of online friends from Torn.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

All in all I'm for changes...not that I always agree on them or when there's no advance warning but a game that always stayed the same would be just mundane and get boring pretty quick. BTW gambling was by far my favorite change in TC while stock market was my least favorite, probably because I didnt get in till way too late and went from one of the richest in TC down to middle class in just a few short months.

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I'm active daily.
I have IRC, but don't use it. If I'm chosen, I will use it. Several hours each day might not be 100% plausible, but I will dedicate a reasonable amount of time and will idle so I don't miss anything.
I believe I can communicate well enough on the forums to be understood.
I do not have subscriber status because I have 1,000+ days of donator status left.

What is your in-game age?

2144 days as of this writing.

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I've been here long enough to see all of the changes this game has gone through. In my time, I've also played every route this game has to offer (wars, stocks, casino, hunting, banking, bounties, properties, companies, etc). Some I did longer than others, but I've done it all before. I think the longevity and experience allow me to have a greater understanding of the ins and outs of Torn than others.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm a 24 year old full time student living in Florida and working on a Bachelor's in Technical/Professional Writing.

What is your general play style in Torn?

Generally, everything I do is working towards a personal goal. Currently, I'm just working towards breaking into the HoF for Crimes while browsing the forums.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

All of it. Every portion for me is about a long-term goal. I wanted the max hunting skill, so I got it. I wanted to win over a billion in Blackjack (before the update), so I eventually did. Currently, it's searching for cash for a spot in the Most Wanted.

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I am 99.99% for.

The only update I've ever been pissed off about was the introduction of drugs. The only change that really upset me was when you told us that hunting earnings could be recovered from the 2007 crash, but that they would not be recovered. I also felt dog owners were under-compensated. I've been totally fine with the rest of the updates and I'm one of the few that absolutely loved the recent DP update (it brought me back to my younger days).

Do you meet all of the factors required?

I am a rather active player. I took a leave from some aspects of Torn (mostly IRC) for a while due to personal reasons, but I have come back strong. I am now active on IRC and keep up with the forums. I am currently not a subscriber due to having a few DP's left over.

What is your in-game age?

1,387 days

Why do you think you'd be a good member of the player committee?

I thoroughly enjoy playing Torn and would like to see its continued growth. I have a tendency to analyze situations from both the good and bad aspects and weigh the pros and cons. I understand that there is no possible way to make every player happy, but I'd like to be part of the team to assist in Torn's growth while keeping the players best interest in mind.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm a 26 years old computer technician from the US. I thrive on technology and basically spend all of my time on computers. I studied computer technology and web development in college. I have a rather laid back attitude, but still know how to get things done. In my spare time I enjoy skateboarding and I'm currently teaching myself to surf.

I enjoy long walks on the beach oh nevermind, that's a whole other thing

What is your general play style in Torn?

I tend to spend more time trying to make myself a stronger player than I do being aggressive in attacking. Stats and money bills is where it's at.

What is your favourite part of Torn, why do you play it?

My absolute favorite part of Torn is the community. I have gained quite a few friends throughout my time playing, and I honestly never thought that was possible in online gaming. I was the faction leader for JFR for quite a while (before the reviving changes) and the interactions I've had with faction members is what has kept me around. Now it's time for me to start warring!

Generally, are you for or against updates and changes that have been made in the past? (To help us pick a mixed range of people)

I generally have gone with the flow and just wait to see how everything pans out in the end after the changes take effect. Then just see how to make adjustments with the changes in my play style. There were definitely some changes that I was not very fond of, but as always, we all find a way to adjust.
