IMO there should be this done:
Scale things up + add other respect incomes
By this i mean: everything costs (lets say) 10 times more, and winning a attack will bring you 10 respect, why? So other actions bring respect
too: one 5-9 nerve crime = 1 respect, 10-14 2 and 15-19 would be 4,
Maybe a streak reward, like every 10 Kill Streak is extra 10 respect, 50 KS would be 50 respect (along with 10) 100 would be 100 (along with others) and 250 would be 250 (all of these stack)
By making money: Respect made with money should come only from networth (crimes and selling items)
every 100,000$ = 1
500,000$ = 5
1,000,000$ = 10
10,000,000$ = 100
100,000,000$ = 1000
(I am not sure if everything is balanced, but i hope Eaglewing gets the point)

one question, so would it start from zero for everyone if it gets introduced, to give a level playing field, or just with current respect( I can see a hell of a lot of noobs botching about how unfair it is, compared to the hard earned respect for high ups)

One of the best suggestions around.
I am not so sure about the things you can spend respect on......Possibly it would be better to be able to spend your personal respect on upgrades, as with the faction respect, as opposed to items.
A few ideas-
Personal Steadfast.
Increase the amount of items you can bid on in auction house.
Decrease the waiting time for stock benefits to kick in.
Increase the likelihood of getting a dividend/item from a benefit.
Decrease the city bank investment time.
Flying times reduced.
Busting success increased.
The idea behind all of the above being that you, as a respected faction member, hold the fear, the more respect you have earnt to get those things. You are intimidating enough to be able to get the auctioneer to let you bid on more things, intimidate the bosses of companies you invest with, city bank manager, airline bosses, prison guards etc.....into letting you get away with more than the average player.
I love the idea of being able to spend personal respect but Im not sure spending it on items you can get anywhere is the best idea.
Personal steadfast is just a greeedy thought really......theres not really any way you can use your respect to intimidate yourself into tranging better in the gym lol.......But it would be popular Im sure
Also....I love the idea of saving up personal respect for a dirty bomb......not enough of them get dropped.........if the threshold is high enough (Which it is in this suggestion) I think its a great option to have.
