By robocop [24729] That's the point, why is he having a gun instead any other kind of defensive weapon ?
maybe because its more effective.....i carry a gun instead of a bat, knife, pepper spray, OC spray, and what not. Just because you dont like guns and are scared of a gun, doesnt mean the rest of us have to be.
I didn't said i don't like guns, i don't like people who are carrying it.
why is he having a gun instead any other kind of defensive weapon
so you rather him have any other weapon besides a gun, but your claiming to not have a problem with guns.....thats sounds contradicting really....
I don't have problem with guns, just that people should not freely own guns, like the guy owning a gun and his 7 years old niece find it in closet...
Guns for shooting range or hunters and they shouldn't own them at home.
As for the cops, bobbies in england don't own a gun and it seems it is not worst.
Polemic today is about it, in my country yesterday a cop killed a guy in the back, he got jailed for homicide. Then cops parade saying they have the right to do it just because the gangster he shot did a lot prison and was recognise as a gangster.
There is abuse a lot of it, people should not own guns.
Sure they should. There is a such thing as responsible gun ownership, believe it or not.

Point is it is a market so they sell guns and u have the biggest possible or the fastest to pull it out win.
I guess that's also a sport.

why do people always compare the U.S. to England when it comes to gun ownership. Do people not realize its a hell of alot easier to "control" guns when the general public never had them? That its easier to "control" guns when the country is about 1/50th of the size of another country?
People seem to forget just how hard it is to give everybody a gun, then a few years later say nevermind we are going to take them back. There are WAY to many guns in the U.S. at the moment to just out right ban everybody but the police and military to own a gun. You would only be taking guns away from law biding citizens, the criminals would just keep it. Yes, the U.S. has started to try and keep track of guns, we have started to get all guns sold by a dealer registered.....but that wont stop somebody from saying they sold the gun to a stranger at a gunshow even tho they didnt. The fact people are still trying to get more gun laws in the U.S. even tho the ones we have arnt enforced until somebody is killed, and dont have any effect yet on gun related crimes is incredibility stupid.

Do u realize gun is a tool, just like a knife is a tool but u don't got 6-8-9-12-36 round in a knife. It's military weapons, hell they even take two sometimes, use it on a roof on an island, it's a strenght relationship.
As for the criminals having it, it's the same law.
I mean give serial killers (don't think it's called like that) a m16 instead of a uzi or grenades, bazooka, nuclear weapon, it is technology and it is not to be in all hands, i know u're very contradictory about it or u simplify...
It' about giving example, just like they are trying to do... Don't get me wrong i'm no humanist about it but when dialogue is not possible then u call it freedom. SO dumb...

Even then it doesn't have any (positive) effect. "The ballistic 'fingerprinting' law passed in 2000 by Pataki has cost New Yorkers as much as $40 million over the last 12 years and has not helped authorities solve even one crime. In the first seven years of the program, it resulted in two 'hits' and no prosecutions."

lol, no the fact you think making a law saying somebody cant have a gun will make the OUTLAWS obey that law...that is stupid. Sorry, but if the person is planing on doing harm they will, period, so why should i be punished and put at a disadvantage for doing what im told while the outlaw gets to have a gun and because of retards like you im stuck with a knife...that seems a little unfair.
Please, dont say the police will protect me and spew that bullshit. Cops ARE NOT there to protect, all they do is investigate after that fact. Check the average response time to a B&E or to a gunshot call.....by the time they get there, the damage is done and your either dead or dying. But if i get my gun and he has his, i have a much better chance at staying live.
theres a quick history of police ad lack of protection ability.

So? If we are going to be colorblind about this, lets be colorblind about it (even though you are mentioning specifically the justifiable outrage from black leaders... somewhat telling, no?). The media is always full of shit, everyone knows that. Ignore them for a second. This dude followed and shot a high school kid (yes, a kid, even legally, at least in my state) who was unarmed? Why was he following and harassing this kid? Because he was young and had his hood up in the rain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what hoods are built for? I mean, I own a number of articles of clothing with hoods, and I don't do so to express comraderie with the criminal element or to be badass or to be able to sneak into your house and rape your wife and children without being identified. In general, I'd say that hoods are designed to keep out the weather. It isn't like he was wearing a mask.
Sorry, the simple fact is that this self-important asshole had no reason to folow and harass this kid. Sure, call 911 if you are so threatened by a single person walking alone in the early evening so they can laugh at you, but don't chase the kid down. And most certainly don't take someone being like "hey man why the f**k are you following me" as an invitation to shoot them in the f**king face and call it self defense. I obviously don't know, but seems to me like Zimmerman was the one looking for a conflict, the one that engineered that conflict by doing something that would sketch anyone out and put them on high alert (following you in the dark), and the one that shot a f**king unarmed kid.
So get off your biased media high horse and think for a goddamn second. Shit was so wrong, and people saying oh but look at all this other stuff thats happened and race and you don't see outrage over this and they said he was white and blah blah trayvon wasn't an angel like those sweet little pics of him SHUT THE f**k UP.
Dude chased down and shot an unarmed kid for suspicious hoodie-wearing and rain walking on the oh-so dangerous streets of Suburban Gated Communtiy, Florida. What the hell is wrong with you?
The media brought the case to national attention because there clearly needs to be an investigation and they let the guy free for a month, and if it hadnt been brought to national attention he still would be walking around...
The same would have (at least should have) happened if Treyvon was white, but you are kidding yourself if you think it would have gone that far before something was done about it if he was.
Hey in your little news story, did the black guy get arrested? If they let him go then you might have a point about something, but I am going to safely bet that he wasnt and that you dont.
By thebeggerpie [1585972]
My point is that a little girl was murdered, and nobody cared!
A teenager is murdered and everyone is grabbing their tissue boxes.
Why is a little girl being murdered in her front yard better then a teenager being murdered on his way home?
EDIT:
He didn't get arrested. It was a drive by shooting.
So in other words they are completely different and you have no point.
Its not "better", Treyvon got more attention because the person we know shot him was walking around free and the police were refusing to do an investigation even though there was conflicting stories of what happened.
If the guy who had shot the 9 year old was detained by the police and let go without an investigation, it probably would be a national news story. But seeing as they arent the same and they dont even know who shot her, they have nothing to do with each other.
BTW, I like how it you turned the story from "a black guy kills a 9 year old" to "a 9 year old got shot by an known assailent in a drive by". How do you know he is black if nobody knows who shot her?

Not exactly true. A petition was started about it & gained momentum to the eventual public outcry. Otherwise we'd all be clueless.

These two cases are totally different and most of America still believes she's guilty. She went into hiding...did she not? Race doesn't play a part in this. We all see her as a mom that killed her child and got off. However, there was an outcry about her during the trial.

The state of Florida's laws are f**ked.
That is exactly what I'm saying though. It's the state of Florida that is the problem, and race has little to do with it. The media, and certain people on these forums, want to muddy the waters and make this a race issue so that everyone loses their heads and can't rationally think about it, and if you support one side you're a bigot and if you support the other you're a ACLU treehugger. But the problem is not about race, it's about the ridiculous judicial/law systems in Florida where Casey Anthony can be acquitted of all charges, and where Zimmerman can be left to walk around free.
But instead, people want to make it a "black vs white" issue, which solves NOTHING and only creates more headaches and distractions.

are you a god damn idiot? the city this happened is worst then DC.....yes its a gated community, i have seen them in the "hood" also. Yall act as if a gated community means nothing but rich rich white people and shit, it doesn't i assure you of this. Matter of fact i have already posted the crime rate compared to some other well known bad areas and it was either close to or actually worst then them so that defense of it being a heavenly place goes to the shit pile. Then with the fact there have been more then average amount of crimes committed during this incident and HE DID NOT LIVE THERE gives zimmerman every damn reason to suspect a man walking down the street at night with his hood up when he doesn't live there. He had every reason to follow him (police never show up until after the crime is committed, and by that time it would have been too late)
But yes, you can cry about a good guy looking after his fellow neighbors saying he should have just let the guy who did not live there looking suspicious walk away and take the chance that he could just be a good kid walking around instead of thinking this was his suspect of the crimes there....AND you can just shut the f**k up and get over the fact this kid had just as much reason to turn and throw down with zimmerman as zimmerman had to follow him, and chase him (sorry but as they say running means your guilty)

Thanks for quoting this, i didnt see it and it goes to prove my point. The case was blown up because everybody thought Zimmerman was white, and the stars i already listed couldnt deal with a white man killing a black man. But they have no problem with a black man killing a black GIRL in HER front yard....Sorry, but thats much more news worthy IMO. A black GIRL killed in HER front yard, she isnt being called a girl to make people feel sorry they say it because she was. Then on top of that she was in HER yard, not walking around her mother/farthers/boyfriends neighborhood and running when they realize somebody is following her. She didnt go to fight the guy or anything, she was SITTING there....But nobody hears about this....

but it did indeed make a difference in the media coverage, especially when they thought he was a white man....and thats what pisses me off, the fact people want to call zimmerman a racist, and claim he was just profiling him and what not but dont mind profiling him as a white man because his skin was white and realize just how racist the media and the stars who went to bat for this case are. (yes, im talking about Obama, Jessie Jackson, Young Jeezy).
Boo-hoo, you got pissed off because people think race might have a role in the reason an unarmed black high school kid got shot by an armed adult after doing nothing but walking down the street.
Ask me if I give a shit.
lol, ignorance must be bliss....
17 year old MAN, runs away then turns around and starts throwing punches....Yes he is an angel who didnt do anything. He was just walking in a neighborhood he didnt live in at night with his hood up, and zimmerman was on watch and he seen him and thought him to be the suspect of recent crimes committed in the community and calls the police then follows him to make sure he doesnt get away....But zimmerman is the bad guy......your logic is more twisted then a screw....
there's right and there's wrong, you gotta do one or the other If you do the one and your living you do the other you might be walking around but your dead as a beaver hat

Yet that same week, a black 9 year old was shot in her front yard by a black man and there was no outcry about that!
Of course you are too dumb to understand the difference...
Did they arrest the killer and let him go without an investigation?
What's that? No?
Would the story have gotten national news if the cops had done their job and conducted an actual investigation into Treyvon's death?
What's that? No?
Oh, that's right they arent the same situation so you have no point...
