Not to get all socio-political, but in the modern day, where people are calling for a complete ban on smoking and drinking, who the f**k wants to be the guy who legalises weed? Jesus Christ, the country nearly shat a brick when they heard that David Cameron had smoked pot once at university.

After you at least look for one, look at all the stories and webpages online that speak of people dying from alcohol.
Cannabis is obviously a safer choice. It doesn't damage your liver like alcohol does, does it? It's all about creating a safe environment, not drinking ourselves to death.

here's my thought:
you legalize caffeine, alcohol, and marijuana, but ONLY in naturally occurring forms.
so coffee, tea, etc are legal but red bull/monster would have to remove the concentrations of caffeine they hold.
beer, wine, kambucha, etc would be legal but spirits would not be (or maybe they would be, i haven't really thought that part out yet throughly)
marijuana would be legal but hash/kif etc would not be.
obviously it'll never even come close to happening, but what do you think the cultural effect of its implementation would have?

Well, regardless of the fact that alcohol, in small doses, and even in occasionally large doses, should have no lasting damage to your liver (hence why most people who drink in moderation aren't subject to liver failure), I wasn't trying to make that point.
I was simply saying that it gives me the titters that you think there can be an exchange of legalities between alcohol and cannabis. It's absurd!
