Ok, so we obviously know the race is between Suarez, RVP and Bale.. But really, if you think about it, this is about the whole season we are judging them here. Not the last 5 games, not the first 10, as its the case with Van Persie and Bale.

Van Persie had a really good start to the season and is second in the goal scoring chart, but in his last 9 games he's scored q
1 goal and he just hasn't been the same..

And then there's Bale, who only turned up a few months back and has had a few good games were people are now comparing him to Ronaldo and Messi which is totally f**king wrong and innacurate as he's very overrated it just shows what happens when he's defended and marked out of a game, just like he was against Liverpool... Although he was involved in both Spurs goals

Whereas Suarez don't even get me started on this guy.. I know I may be a bit biased here but it's mostly facts and you're entitled to your opinion too. And saying he's a "cheat" or a "diver" has nothing to do with his football ability so shushhh. He's been so important for Liverpool this season, being apart of 50 odd goals out of 70 so far, which Is incredible. And he's showed his class so many times even when he's being booed off the field.. And the countless times I've seen that Suarez is moving in the Summer is crazy. How many times does he have to say he wants to stay? He loves Liverpool?

Anyway..

tldr;

Who will be Player of the Year?

Discuss. Let's not take some banter too far or else this will get locked

Man Utd fan here, I would've said RVP comfortably if it wasn't for his recent dry spell of goals. For me, it has to be Suarez, although I'm fairly certain Bale will probably get it, just for being a British fella that's hit some pretty special form, despite it being for only a couple months.

I think it will be Torres.

His remarkable ability to disappear from games is something even Heskey would be proud off. How can he not win it this year!

Suarez should win it, even in liverpool which is honestly not the best of teams he shines. That being said, bale will probably win it. Massively overrated although he is one of the best

Robin Van persie, He actually passes unlike Suarez and bale, also doesn't fall at the slightest touch unlike those two, he's just moved to a new club and performs like that it takes most players a season or two to settle in.

need i say more?

Bale wins both PFA Player & Young Player of the Year. Suarez should've won imo, but I'm not surprised that Bale has won.

I wouldn't rate Bale in my top 10 premier league players.

The man runs very quickly and hits the ball very hard at the goal. Yup, there's no denying that it works, but it's simply playing the man to his strengths.

When you consider that the likes of Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch are condemned for being 'one dimensional,' it can be hard to avoid putting Bale into that category too. They're big guys who can head the ball, he's a fast guy who can strike the ball. I see no major difference. That's probably not going to go down very well, but I'm just basing it on what I see. It's very hard to get excited watching him play.

Everything else he does on the pitch is no better than anybody else. For example, he put in a standard cross last weekend, and the commentators nearly lost their poop with excitement.

He is a decent player, but he's so massively overrated, that trying to enjoy a Tottenham game (which is pretty hard as it is, considering their unique brand of kick and rush football (ie, they just run really quickly, and rely on this to win games; which undeniably works for them)), just becomes a sycophantic display of nincompoopery.
NB: I'm not saying that Tottenham's style of play is wrong, I'm just saying that I don't enjoy watching it. I much prefer a strong, pass-oriented game.

Suarez, meanwhile, could have scored 500 goals, gained 200 assists, completed 5000 passes, and done it all with his shoe laces tied together, and he still wouldn't have won. It's a popularity contest, and how could the PFA award a man who a lot of people hate? So instead of going for ol' Sharky Suarez, they go for the clean cut, children's idol, Super Bale.

And I don't think you'll find the likes of RVP really give a damn. Legions of new fans, League title, probable golden boot. It's been a good season for the Dutchman.

I still believe that Sergio Aguero is probably the best player in the EPL. Has more ball skills than you can shake a stick at.

And Benteke being overlooked as Young Player of the Year is scandalous.
