Of course 1 absolutely lucky play that involved absolutely no skill whatsoever doesn't make him good, but what can I say... I just love terrible players. Just like that terrible QB that went 30-42 for 342 with 2 TD's and no INT's. We're just lucky this game didn't matter because we all know if it mattered he would have thrown for 101 yards and 4 INT's.....

I love Harbaugh. I remember watching him with the Bears and Colts as a kid and I loved the guy, so I was super excited when he started coaching cause I knew how much energy he had and how much he could motivate a team, but I hate what he did to Alex Smith. Alex did NOTHING to lose his job.

Hey, do you remember that time that crappy Romo guy went 10-19 for 76 yards with no TD's and a pick at halftime? Wait......

As I said, 4-6 wins for Dallas this season. I doubt they will win 8 though, they have injuries all across their team, play in the toughest division, the other teams in the division are getting better, Dallas is not getting better, Romo still can't win in December, the O-line still sucks, and the defense still sucks. At least in previous years you had some offense to play with, but, again, with the injuries this season.... I think it's a perfect storm for them to have a terrible year, on top of a moderate schedule.
Or here, I've provided you with about 5-6 strong reasons why the Cowboys will have a terrible, well below .500 year. You seem to think I'm delusional, so how about you provide me with a few concrete reasons why you think this will be a 8 or more win season? Other than "because we're the Cowboys!" You guys won 8 games last year, have not gotten any better while all three other teams in your division have gotten better. |
damn...where to start correcting this statement now....

In his defense, most of what he said I agree with, minus the win/loss. Our oline does suck, but Romo still managed... Our D as of late (because of injuries) has not played up to par... we are VERY injury prone... we do play in the toughest division and it has gotten better and tougher, minus the Eagles...
The rest was gibberish. We DID improve, we did add more talent and Romo can and has won in December even befor this year 2-0 December. Were I not drunk and enjoying this game I would actually go back and find my response to his comment but.... f**k it lol.

our D wasnt that bad last year, just our secondary (which we revamped in the offseason).
Our Offense wasnt really bad, just wasnt good. But i seen murray last year an knew we would be much better with him starting instead of felix jones.
ill agree our o-line is horrendous, but they have had some good games this year (today for instance).
ahh, your having fun watching the 24-3 niners-pats at pats game too

Maybe this patriots ugly home loss will change something. I thought the defense had turned a corner and that our offense was clicking but I'm afraid we reverted back to our 2009-2010 form. It's sad, really, but hopefully this late loss can motivate the team to play better in the playoffs. Might not get that first round bye though bcause of this. Entire team just looked lost out there today

Our LB crew was good last year but the rest was terrible. Ratliff is a good DT but has no supporting crew. Our D line sucked (and still does) and our secondary sucked. Lee, Ware, Ratliff and Spencer was all our D had.
Murray is good, but VERY injury prone. I'd give up Murray's great potential for an average healthy back that will do something every week instead of an injury prone RB doing GREAT a few games a year.
Today? Sure, SOME plays Romo had time, but numerous times he dodged 2-4 tacklers JUST to get an incomplete.
But yes, I am enjoying this game very much, though I feel the tables can quickly turn....

I was going to say the same thing. There's a whole 'nother quarter to go. Brady has the ability to pull off a comeback. Won't happen tonight though.

oh i wasnt just talking about brady - i was talking about the patriots as a team, hence y i added in defensive players, but brady has always been surrounded by talent. to prove that look at matt cassel - nuff said. as for peyton manning, i believe he is a better qb overall, manning carried that team on his back.... proved it last year when he missed the season. you see how bad they were without him. when brady went down they still turned out fine, why? because there's more to the team than brady. manning is much more valuable than brady (with the colts and the broncos). i wanna see matt cassel go off with either one of those teams like he did with the pats. As for charlie weis and crennel sucking as head coaches - i completely agree - as coordinators tho - their record says otherwise.
gunna throw in a few things about that 11-5 season u complain about... compared to the 2007 team, they basically had the same team - okay minus stallworth - but statistics dont lie
2007 season
wes welker - 111 catches for 1165 yds 3 tds
randy moss - 69 catches 1008 yds 11 tds
2 wrs over 1000 yds - id say that's legit
the running backs seem to have split time 4 of them with 7,3,4, and 5 tds (combined yds for like 1800-1900 yds...
and the defense the year mayo came in, still had bruschi, vrabel, meriweather, seymour, wilfork, harrison, hobbs at corner (guy was an interception machine in his prime - 3 picks in this season)
so you're trying to tell me that's not a good team? u gotta be shitting me.
like i said before - u can brag about them all u want, aint dont anything worthy in the postseason in a long time. going to the super bowl and losing to the same team twice is shit, the buffalo bills made it 3 or 4 times? and lost all of them - they are only remembered for losing. pats are in the same boat, dont bring up rings from the early 2000s - cant hang onto it forever. if they aint done it in the last 4-5 seasons, it dont mean shit. the regular season doesnt mean shit.

awesome qb? he sucked the entire 1st half - threw 2 picks, threw only 1 td - he had alot of yds that meant nothing for most of the game. i will give it up to the pats defense though for most of the 2nd half. talib really stepped up. danny woodhead owned it up. nice try on a comeback, but he was very far from awesome today, okay at best.

During the whole 2nd half Brady was throwing perfect passes and moved the ball down the field to come back from a 4 touchdown deficit. I think that is pretty damn awesome.

For arguments sake, I agree with this comment...
When the Cowboys lost to the Redskins, Romo had a sub par 1st half and an excellent second half yet Bosox shat on him like he was worthless.....
By bosox [278767]
This again sums up Romo's career. He threw for 441 yards an d people will say the defense let him down and he scored 31 points but still lost... Bg it will gt overlooked and ignored that he looked terrible in the beginning of the game and threw, what was it, 2 or 3 picks before digging himself a 3 score hole to climb out of, which proved to be too much. Same old romo, and I wonder when Luke and Crow will start seeing that he is not the right man for this job now, 7 years into this. |
Romo went 37 of 62 (59.7%) 441 yards with 3 TD's 2 INT's but it was ALL Romo's fault...
Brady went 36 of 65 (56.9%) 443 yards with 1 TD 2 INT's but the whole team just didn't look right..
Notice how when it's another team Bosox will shit down the QB's throat, but when his gods of the gridiron falter it's not Brady's fault, it's a team effort.
Bosox does that with EVERYTHING QB related. No QB can compare to his god, PERIOD. Had Brady been a RB and won 3 rings he would be downplaying Adrian Petersons recovery and accomplishments this year because it won't lead to a Lombardi.
When he compares Romo to Brady he brings up Rings and playoff record and say stats don't matter, then when he compares Brady to Peyton Manning rings are not as important as stats and heads up matches, then when he compares Brady to Eli rings and heads up matches don't matter it's about win/loss record and supporting cast, then when comparing to Aaron Rodgers it's all about who's doing better THIS season.
For someone that complains about people making excuses for their preferred players, Bosox sure does conveniently/selectively choose what accomplishment makes a good QB.

Crow, Brady has pretty comparable stats to Manning and the only reason they are more are simply because he has played a few more years. Couple that with the fact Brady has the playoffs and rings and head to head record then well... Sure. Keep picking manning i guess. I don't know what to say anymore. I don't know why you can't see that I use combinations of career, titles, and record to make my judgement. It's fairly straightforward.
As for the game, Brady played pretty terrible the first half, receivers were dropping passes, RBs were fumbling. The offense was a mess. But at least they came back and didnt lay down and quit, and the defense played ok for most of the game but had some pretty big let downs at critical moments. Maybe this is the first game we missed Gronkowski since his injury, but we just weren't playing well and I won't put the loss on any one guy. There was just way too many mistakes on all sides of the ball. Good comeback but it fell short. Maybe this will make us better going forward.

I NEVER said I thought Manning was better than Brady, you just assume it because I take shots at him and go out of my way to make comparisons. It's not because I don't think he's great, it's just that your selective bias irritates me.... My complaint is that EVERY time someone says a QB besides Brady is good, you trash them and downgrade their accomplishments selectively. And you use your combinations of accomplishments selectively.
You'll have 1 argument where Rings matter most, then another where stats matter most then another where win/loss record matters most. When someone brings up a category that YOU praised Brady for that someone else did well at you suddenly act like that category doesn't matter and compare their other stats. You can't let any other fan have a moment, you attempt to diminish what they've done by comparison to your favorite.
We ALL know Brady is good, but come the f**k on dude. Let someone discuss why they think Romo, Manning, Manning, Rodgers, Ryan, Stafford or ANY other QB in the league is good without you comparing them to your white Allah... The ONLY reason your opinion gets hated on is because your version of 'lets talk about something else' normally means "please bring up someone that Brady is better than so I can trash them by comparison". Call me crazy and/or diss me all you want but it's true.

Crow, I don't complain when people say other QBs are good. I just correct people when someone basically laughs at the idea that Brady is a better QB than Manning. I'm aware there are a couple great QBs in the league right now,and there are a couple guys who are going to go down as being some of the better ones to ever play the game that are still active. I don't ever switch my arguments up; I always say it's all a combination of everything. I have never said a championship ring is the end all be all, but I have said it accounts for a significant amount. It's why people overlook Marino a lot of the time. However, I don't believe simply winning a Super Bowl puts you into an elite category. Does anyone here think that Roethlisberger is a better Qb than Marino was? If you think so let me know, but I think we can both agree who is better. And I am not saying Brady is better only because of his rings and playoff success (although that accounts for a very significant portion, but you talk as if Brady's stats pale in comparison to Manning's, which isn't true. The two are still both active, so it's impossible to say who will end up with the better career stats, but Brady is keeping pace with Manning for being a few years behind, and has not some terrible stats of his own anyways, and is younger. And, of course, Brady has more or less owned Manning in head to head, and outplayed him on many big stages. I don't just use rings for the argument, and then I don't use stats for another argument. I account for everything.
if you want to talk about other good QBs, then sure, go right ahead. The only time I bring Brady into it is when someone, usually luke or spazzy, will tell me how much better Rodgers is than Brady. I have no problem saying Rodgers is great and is the future of the NFL, but I do have a problem when someone tells me Rodgers or Manning or Brees has been more impressive than Brady. The problem is that you guys just typically don't understand that's what I'm saying, and you think I am saying no other QB in the league is good. It's a little lame, and repetitive.
