American League East is still proving that its probably the toughest division in MLB. With 5 teams only one team has a winning percentage under .500. Yet that team is still not a team to under estimate. With Baltimore flying high and Tampa biting their ankles the two game series between the Orioles and the Bronx Bombers at Camden Yards will be a true testament of who deserves to be on top of the division.

Tigers will get there stroke going. They won today (first game of the series was a flop) and will have two easy games against the Twins. Cleveland has been surprising everyone.

The Red Sox are going to give me anxiety all year. Seems we win 5 then lose 5, I don't get it. The AL East should be the most interesting division in baseball this year... but I wonder if there is anyone who can stop Texas, in the AL at least. They look like they're on their way to a 3rd straight AL pennant.

Yeah the game looked like what the Tigers should be doing every game. Everyone clicked starting in the 6th.. and Valverde almost blew it till Dotel came in to get the final out.

I've never understood the obsession NL fans have with the pitchers hitting. They all suck, they're lucky if they hit .250 with 2 HRs all year, and most of them are instructed to not slide or try to break up double plays. So why people obsess over that is beyond me. And there is absolutely no strategy needed for the managers when dealing with the vaunted DOUBLE SWITCH or when to pull a pitcher for a pinch hitter. Any 10 year old little leaguer could tell you when it's a good idea to pull the pitcher.

Let the pitchers pitch, and the position players hit.

The Nats and Yankee series coming up is going to be fun to watch. Both teams going into it with a 6game winning streak, both sweeping two teams in the interleague play. The winner of this series I think is going to really determine which League has a tougher East division.

Some of the Pitcher's love hitting.. plus I'd like to see Verlander get his first hit or HR.. I love the Tigers, and theDH.. but Interleague play is fun.

The Tigers maybe getting it back.. there 7-3 in their last 10, and won 3 series in a row for the first time in forever, they have lost the first game of each for some odd reason. Leyland is starting to piss me of though.. he'll look for any reason to put Q. Berry as a sub, or send him back to the minors, while Ryan Raburn is still in the lineup! Raburn sucks tremendously, and the average male could have a better batting average then him.

All star break is right around the corner! Im not a huge fan of the all star game but I do looove the Home run derby! Its fun watching the pros smack em out of the ball park.

Anyone in particular any of you want to see in the HR derby this year? For the American league I want to see Ortiz, Hamilton and Granderson. Those three along with Cano can put on a good show I think

You have to throw Adam Dunn in there. He's tied for the lead in home runs. NL? Beltran won't do it, just because he'll take the All-Star break off to rest his knees. I'd love to see Braun take a few whacks at it.

Also, I'm pretty excited that the Cubs are bringing Rizzo up tomorrow. I really hope they don't f**k him up.

The MLB allstar game is the only one worth watching... the NFL, NBA, and NHL ones are pretty much jokes where they score 10x more points/goals than they do in a normal game, or it's totally irrelevant and at a time/location that no one cares about or watches.

Jose Bautista should be in the derby, he's been a pretty productive HR hitter the past few seasons. I also wish they could get Will Middlebrooks in there, but that's not going to happen. He's a rookie in Boston and in his 42 games this season he's got 9 HRs, but he's got some serious power and potential. He's one of those guys that people pay attention to in batting practice.

Am I the only one that ever gets tired of sports casters saying teams should, or may as well, concede the division to another team in JUNE? I hear this all the time lately with the Red Sox, and even some local media as well, saying the Yankees are pulling away from the division... call me insane here, but is it June 27th? A 6 game lead isn't safe in August or September, so why they feel it's necessary to say this in June is beyond me.

I knew Detroit was turning it around, but there 8-2 in their past 10 games, I'll wait til this road trip is over to see what's going on in the central as this will be a tough road trip, first up we have the Indians, followed by the Blue Jays (without Jose Bautista in the lineup I believe) and then the Red Sox who spanked us the second series we played against them.

And how about Miguel Cabrera hitting his 299th and 300th homer to help with a sweep of the White Sox..

Detroit really had no reason to be playing as poorly as they had been... and still are underachieving a lot. It's long enough into the season where we can't excuse things away as just bad luck or slumps, so I'm not sure if I buy Detroit as a serious contender...let's also not forget, you play in a pretty shitty division where you really should not have had any trouble beating up on those teams and in cruise control in your division all season long.

I think the AL is once again going to come down to the Rangers. Until someone knocks them off, there is no reason to doubt them. They have been the best team in the AL for 2+ years now, and show absolutely no signs of releasing their AL Champs title.

As for my Red Sox? Is it 2013 yet?

Have you followed at all? Injuries played a big part.. we started the season without one of our best players, and one of your best relievers, Austin Jackson was injured for over a month.. and came back and started kicking ass again.

In other news, we traded our Golden Child, Jacob Turner, and 2 other prospects to the Miami Marlins for Omar Infante, a stud 2nd basemen (alright, maybe not a stud in every since of the word, but an upgrade from Ryan Raburn, right?) and Anibal Sanchez, a solid starter despite his W/L record (He played for Miami/Florida his whole career) we're setting up for the win now.. This next road trip and home stand should determine whether or not we're to be taken seriously as contenders.

Also, how about the already stacked Yankees adding Ichiro Suzuki to their lineup, right before a series in Seattle..

I'm not even sure what you mean by "one of your best relievers, Austin Jackson was injured for a month." I assume "your" was meant to be "our," since he isn't on my team... but Jackson is a outfielder, not a pitcher so I wonder what it is that YOU have been following. Secondly, cry me a river. Every team has had injuries--they always do. But your rotation has been pretty healthy all year, with Verlander already at 20 starts and 148 IP, and your closer has not missed any time. And lastly, as I said before, your division absolutely sucks, so even with injuries (which you have not had any more than anyone else has) you should be able to have been in first all season long, and by far.

As for Ichiro, he's overrated and washed up now anyways. He's a glorified singles hitter, which has its benefits but certainly not $18m/yr worth... there are plenty other players out there who a team could get for $18m/yr that are much better than... but he's now 38 years old, coming off a career worst year, and he's hitting .261 with 4 HRs on the year... and, not to mention, during his 12 year career he has accumulated only 99 HRs 295 doubles.... which is pathetic, for any position. Suzuki wont have much of an impact on the Yankees's success this season.

I meant our, and I was talking about Al Alburquerque, not AJax... Verlander was the only guy in our rotation producing for awhile, our bullpen started producing, followed by our rotation.. the defense stepped up and now their bats are staying hot.. we have arguably the best hitter in baseball in Miguel Cabrera, we have upgraded 2nd base and have another strong rotation guy, depending on these next 3 weeks, we may run away with the division again, and might be able to make it through the playoffs, while your Sox are watching from the couch.

And all those reasons are exactly why you should never have been in this position. The Tigers have a lot of talented players, but for some reason they were chasing the White Sox and playing .500 ball for the majority of the season so far. There's a difference between not producing and just not having the bodies on the field. While the Tigers have had injuries, they have not had any more than any other team by any means, and your two star players (Verlander and Cabrera) have been healthy all year, not missing any time. So my response to you guys playing better now is: it's about damn time! You guys have 0 excuse to have been playing so poorly all year.

And your profile says you're 16, which means you have no recollection of 1999, and only remember the Colts as being a good team. Hell, I get some hazing sometimes because I'm 23 and was 12 when the Pats first won, 16 when the Red Sox won, 19 when the Celtics last won, and 22 when the Bruins last.... wait... I guess all my teams are champions luckily for me, I've got the pre-championship gear and tickets to prove my loyalty haha, and can at least remember Bledsoe and his mediocrity and somewhat vaguely recall the 96 Super Bowl he lost, as well as the 03 Red Sox heart breaker... damn, my teams have actually all been in contention for most of my life. How lucky I am to be from Boston
