Yeah everyone seems to be getting better tho doesnt it feel like? except nashville ha i think Ryan would help the bruins and i agree about what you said with krejci i havent watched too many bruins games but i remember hearing that he has more potential that what he has showed in the past.
The contenders are definitely making big moves, that's for sure.
And yeah, I've always said that Krejci has been one of the most talented players on the team, but he just lacks that killer instinct. He doesn't really ever put many shots on net, and that's ok but he is our 1st line center... he may be better suited for 2nd line, but Bergeron has that line anchored pretty well. To be honest, the Bruins basically have two 2nd lines and no real dominant first line, on offense anyway. That's why I really hope we can land a legit goal scoring threat because we desperately need it.
Oh giddy just when I was getting excited for a few preseason games. It was looking like they were going to avoid a lockout a couple of weeks ago but of course we couldn't be so lucky Now to hope they get this sorted out before the 11th so we don't have to start missing games...
Why bother with a season? So we can cram 30 games in, and/or push back the playoffs so it will also f**k up next years' schedule? I'm over it. Let them loose the season, let them refund my money for the season tickets and see of they can get their head out of their ass for next year. Or maybe they'll just let all the momentum die that they just got back from their last lockout. I don't care
If they get a deal signed this week we could have a 52 game season and the playoffs ending in late June. Anything is better than nothing as far as I'm concerned and rumor has it if they get a deal signed NHL Center Ice will be free. Making that free could possibly bring in more fans. I'm hoping they learn their damn lesson from all this lock out shit though, it is ridiculous to lose this many games.
The way I see it, these owners don't want to lose playoff revenue. That's all. They don't latte players for those games, so all profits go directly to them. That's the only reason they suddenly want an agreement. If they could have got this thing done a month or two ago, had the winter classic and missed only a few games then sure, id want it. But they did this to themselves, they're holdin hostage hundreds of my dollars that they took for my first payment for my season tickets, so I say the sooner they cancel the whole year, finally, the sooner I get my money back. They did this not even 10 years ago and they're doing it again. They're doing a great job of making sure the NHL stays far behind the other pro sports in popularity, I guess
Not really that happy, to be honest. The season is going to be a mess, probably a lot of shitty teams will get in that ordinarily would have started hot and faded away. There may also be a lot of injuries and slower paced play due to the players all probably not playing hockey that much, and certainly not NHL caliber hockey.
What I'm most concerned about is what the teams are going to do with people with season tickets and ticket packages. I have a 10 game package that they collected 1 payment for and stopped, and never got any tickets sent obviously. Now I'm sure some of the games that were part of my package were cancelled, so I wonder; will just assign 10 new games, which is kind of lame because that takes the choice away from it like I had when I first purchased them; continue wherever the package left off, so many only getting 6 or 5 games but still see the games I selected; or will they just scrap it entirely and only let full season ticket holders get their tickets.
Who knows, it's still a mess. I'm not even sure they know all the details themselves yet.
I think most teams are going to unleash their scoring. Between the very busy and compact schedule, I don't think many teams are going to be able to play very physical for long stretches. Might see a lot more games won 5-4 than usual this year, I think.
At least my Bruins are stating out good so far. The PP still looks pathetic, for whatever reason at this point lol. Just hope Horton stays healthy and Seguin continues to develop into a star, and I think we have a great shot at home-ice for the playoffs.
the rangers just look slowed down and sloppy, the defense leave lundqvist out to dry, and 2 of the other goals he gave up last nite - i really dont know how he let them past him.... he looked like a f**kin bum last night. i hope he takes his head out of his ass in a couple days
I don't think Lundqvist played any over the lock-out so I guess you have to expect some rust on his part...couple that with shit defense at times and it's not hard to see why he's letting so many goals in. Most of the games I have seen so far have been pretty sloppy but everybody should start playing at an elite level soon I imagine. Hope my Caps can have more defense than just Carlson and Alzner this next game, looked like it was Holtby vs Tampa on a few of those goals he let in.
ha ill fix the title:) the wild are doing good so far and the hawks...theyre both 2-0! Parise scored his first goal as a member of the wild in our shutout of dallas. and today i put my bookie money on STL and ANH and won both! Holla im 6/6 this season! ha
I don't think STL is going to come anywhere near repeating from last season. They didn't have really anyone that could score and weren't physical at all, and they basically relied on their two goalies to be shutting everyone out or holding them to 1 goal all year. I just don't see that happening this year, and think they are going to be forced to score goals and wont be able to.
STL Vs. CHI My pick: Chicago, hopefully but dayum STL has a 37 shots per game average? Wow thats suprising this might be a close one...
Nsh Vs. MIN My pick: MIN, The wild have played pretty solid this season if you forget about period 1 of game 1. Hopefully they will be able to find holes in Pekka Rinne. The big difference of this year compared to last is their shot count...it has always been so low but this year they are actually shooting more than their opponents which might lead to good things.
WSH Vs WPG My Pick: Washington, They have wins in their last 10 home openers but both teams are looking for their first win. I gotta believe ovetchkin will open up his scoring sooner rather than later.
DAL Vs DET: My Pick DET, Their high powered offense and supposedly good goalie should lead them to a decent amount of wins but them getting railed in the opener makes me shake my head. Dallas shou;d do good this season but its alot more spotty i feel although i was impressed with the goaltending of their rookie, Nilstrop, against MIN the other night. if you havent seen Detroits rookie Brunners shootout goal from the other night....look it up!
TAM Vs CAR: My pick TAM, Martin St. Louis is on a tear and its hard to win with him scoring multiple points against every team not to mention he has Stamkos and Lecavalier to pick up his slack if he decides to take a break. Carolina has just been flat on their face so far but i would hope Ward finds his groove and the same goes for the Staal brothers since all 3 of them are on my fantasy team.
MTL Vs FLA: My pick FLA, If Montreal wins this game i would be kinda suprised but i would say this is one of the harder games to call today.
PHI Vs NJ: wow ummm...PHI? Hard game to call since PHI has had a hard start but they are going to start winning sometime..why not tonight?
LA Vs COL: COL, another hard game to call but LA has always done pretty crappy against COL and now that colorado has a better goalie than lasst year i would say it will be close but LA losses again. hopefully kopitar will get well soon
EDM Vs SJ: I would say this is definatly one of the best games of they day even thought everyone thinks the sharks are going to win this would be the game i would wanna watch....EDM has so much young talent that they are going to be super good sooner rather than later...who knows when? i say its a toss up but id root for EDM.
Having watched both STL games I will say they are playing very well, and having a strong tandem of goalies like they do that should bode well for them this year...and yeah and they have Vladimir Tarasenko...that kid has shown great hockey sense so far so it will be interesting to see what he can do this year.
NHL games are harder to predict, I think, seeing as they can be so flukey at times. A puck off the pole or an awkward bounce in can be the difference. I'm just hoping my Bruins keep hot and ride Tuukka as far as he'll go haha. He was actually a pretty damn good goalie in the one year he was the starter for us back in 2009, led the NHL with a 1.97 GAA and, as far as I've read, was pretty lights out in his European league he was playing in (Switzerland maybe?) so.... I'm liking how things are. I just wish Julien would put Seguin on the top line with Horton and Krejci. I that that would be a VERY good scoring line and that's something we haven't really had since the days of Kessel. After that, Lucic, Brergeron and Marchand can make a pretty dynamic and solid 2nd line. I just don't think Lucic is a top line guy, and there's nothing terrible in that. I know he had that 30 goal year a few seasons ago, and is good for around 25 goals a year, but he's just too big and slow sometimes. He doesn't have to be the next Cam Neely, who can drop the gloves and put up 50 goals, I think he'd be a great 2nd line guy who's big and can muscle people off the puck and can score goals when he gets chances. Plus, I think Bergeron is a much better Center than Krejci is, so Lucic may even get some better scoring chances on the 2nd line anyways. Let the top line be our gunners and let them all shoot. Horton is big enough to provide some protection, and Chara is always big enough. We need to get just a litttttllleee bit of finesse back on this team, just on the top line anyways, because our PP is terrible and I think there's no other reason why, apart from the fact we just don't have one guy who can consistently put the puck in the damn net.
