I missed the first game so I'll make up for it during this 2nd game.
Looks like a good game so far. Devils provoked a call for a power play within 3 mins
devils couldn't do shit with their power play.
KINGS SCORE!! 8 mins in
I don't think the Devils have a chance. They look like rookies out there while those LA guys are playing with them.
You can't shoot the puck low against Quick, you gotta put it in the air

Halfway through the 1st period and I can see that the Devils are too sloppy while the Kings are playing almost perfectly. The Devils will resort to violence to try and get a chance.

I was expecting more violence but it hasn't happened halfway through the 2nd period. The Kings are still outclassing the Devils.
Devils get another power play, I doubt much will be gained from it, no shots so far.
Only decent shot on the goal during the devils power play was from a Kings shot on Brodeur...he gloved it \
2nd period so far is uneventful and pretty much more boring than the 1st. About 3 mins left in 2nd still 1-0

During this moment of boredom between the end of the 2nd and start of the 3rd I have a story concerning my interest in hockey.
A friend of mine who worked for an art shop met Doug Wilson (currently General Manager of the San Jose Sharks) and she got hired to do the interior decorating for his new home in Los Altos when he left the Chicago Blackhawks and joined the newly formed team in San Jose. I got to meet Doug and his wife. Very nice people.
I also carried a box of hockey pucks that at the time I wondered wtf they were for. His wife, Kathy, wanted them put up in a museum frame as a surprise for Doug. They were all his record placing pucks from when he played with the 'hawks. He was like an amazing defenceman for them and still has records that haven't been beaten.
Doug was also like the last guy ever to be allowed to play in the NHL without a helmet. I never got a chance to ask why he would want to play without a helmet.
Anyway, I've been a Sharks/hockey fan ever since.

amazing, the devils are picking up their game. they're getting more shots on goal than the last 2 periods combined...still hella sloppy tho, prolly why they aren't scoring.

Congrats to the Kings, I don't think anyone had them winning it all, not even Kings fans. While I have no interest in them, or the Devils, it's good for the sport when 8th seeded teams win. In 2009, the Canadiens and the Flyers faced off in the ECF as the 8th and 7th seeds, with the 7th seeded Flyers eventually moving on to the Cup in a losing effort. But to see an 8th seed actually win it, it should really give every team and fan hope next year. This isn't the NBA where you have no shot if you're a 5th or 4th seed, this is the NHL. Anything can happen.

The Rangers made it to the ECF last year, so I guess you could say they have already been as good as you read about, and their additions mean they will be another contender. For my Bruins, I'm still waiting to see how this Bobby Ryan situation will play out. Rumor has it that David Krejci is the centerpiece upon which a deal could be made to acquire Ryan, and it seems like it could be a good fit for both teams. I like Krejci, and he's always had the potential and talent to be a great player, as evidences in him scoring 12 goals in 25 playoff games in the Cup run as compared to his 13 goals in his 75 regular season games... but he has played about 5 full seasons with the Bruins and has never developed into what he could be, despite the fact he gets assists. Ryan, on the other hand, has proven he can score, and a scoring center is probably the Bruins' biggest need... as our power play sucks, and that is because we have a shortage of great goal scorers, rather just a collective group of 20-29 goal scorers. If the Bruins can add Ryan I think he will increase production from Lucic, who took a step back from his 2010-11 performance, and if Horton comes back healthy that will be a beautiful top line that could feature three separate 30 goals scorers.
