Hey.

I am bored as **** right now. I am pretty decent at Excel and I want to keep my knowledge alive. So if you have anything you want done in Excel then just ask me and I'll see what I can do. As an example of what to do is that I just made a spreadsheet on Google Docs for my faction that counts the hits done in a war. This way you could have a competition for your faction.

Excel is wonderful and most things regarding calculations can be made with it.

I know it sounds werid as hell to most people, but I really like Excel. So if you want anything done then I might be able to help you. Only thing that I probably would say no to even try would be HUGE tasks as well as doing free work for your real life company.

If this service is appriciated then I might start a thread the same way as graphics has it. But for now I'll do it for free in my sparetime.

Take care everyone! (^.^)

Hello.

I'd suggest you look on freelancing sites like peopleperhour.com etc and see if you can pick up bits and pieces there - should find interesting real world problems to solve and potentially get a bit of money for your time.

Also if you like Excel you should consider getting into programming (if you aren't already!)

Create an account there and make your portfolio. Why do it for free if you're gonna work hard on something? You'll get a hell lot of work there because there's tons of Excel/Excel related jobs! You can also mail me if you face any problem creating your portfolio as I already got an account there and already earning good $$

If you can't blow them away with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullshit.

Well I don't really consider myself a proffesional even though my skills are way beyond the average person. That is why I don't like to charge. But seeing people on that website who doesn't seem to know much charging 100 dollars makes me feel quite comfortable with my knowledge. So maybe I should do that. Also, I have done some Java,Matlab and "Spagetti" programming in the past, but that is just at a hobby-level. Spagetti-programming is what my Java-teacher used to call it, the type of programming where it is not just top-down but you can use labels to go anywhere in the code...

I don't really have any portfolio. How do I create one of thoose? Painting and stuff like that is easy to create a portfolio, but if I create a spreadsheet for a company then that spreadsheet is the property of the company and not mine to use as I like...

I thought that I wouldn't be able to find any jobs on there that I would be able to do. But looking at some of the stuff makes me cringe a bit that people don't know how to do. I found one work that pays 6 dollars. It doesn't sound much, but considering what he asks for litteraly takes seconds to do it becomes quite a sweet hourly wage...

Just simply go there and create an account first. Then create your portfolio by giving info bout your work, you level of expertise, aim and yada yada. You can just semi-leave the portfolio. Work through your path for the time being at the beginning. You do good work, your client will give +ve feedback. And your portfolio will have greater value.
Good luck and again, if you need any help just drop me a mail.

You're worth what people are prepared to pay (within reason), as long as you think you can do the job then go for it, you don't have anything to lose.

Haha I'm not sure spaghetti code is too much of a compliment - but you should keep at programming!

I totally agree with you, hopefully I will find projects that people will be happy with my work. I'll probably give it a try.

No ofcourse not!

I didn't take it as a compliment either. I did that type of programming on my old TI-83 "back in the days". I will probably do some programming, but more as a hobby. Excel though is what I find fun and what I hope to work with in the near future. I am self-taught in Excel and I really like learning it as well since it is so extensive as well as it is so widespread in worklife.

Even though I really like doing Excel and I am willing to do it for free, I am not going to chase down people for things to do. I am willing to help out, but they have to contact me. I put this thread up and if they need help then they can send me PM/write here, not the other way around.

I don't see how that is funny...

Some people find it hard, I find it easy. If I can help someone with excel maybe they can help me next time?
