Well, after some years my current pc is starting to have some problems with the newer games, which is normal imo.. anyway i'm thinking on building a new one, and i'd like to hear your suggestions or remarks..

as for now, i have this offer ;

Processor: Intel Core i5 4670K
Memory: DDR3 16GB
HD 1: 128GB SSD (as startup disk)
HD 2: 1TB
Graphics : nVidia GeForce GTX760 2GB
Optical Drive: DVD-Writer
OS : none
Garanty: 2 Jaar

This one goes for roughly 900 tax free, so that's about 1100 here in Belgium that i pay.
May i remind you this shop puts the pc together for you, so i don't have to do nothing but pay..

If i take an OS with it (win 7 vs win 8? i tend to go win 8) that will take about 100 more.
Maybe office and an AV, and lets say i'll pay about 1250 (about 1700$) for this one.

Imo, this is kinda the max of my budget, and i'm wondering if this is a good deal.

Please, share your thoughts

If it was me I would get win7 and spend the extra on a blu ray optical drive instead

That CPU is an awesome one for gaming; 16GB is overkill if you are just gaming; HDD, only you can know if you really need that much storage. I personally need more; The graphics, I would wait for the AMD R5/7/9 series to come out before landing on NVidia.

id drop the 760, and go with a 680 gtx, better bang for your buck, and will still run all games on ultra

Edit: ill add, if you go with a higher end 680 for the same $$ as (what im assuming) is a mid-range 760, you will get the same longevity.

me personally, i was looking at somthing like the MSI 760GTX 4GB, but decided on the Gigabyte 680GTX SOC, around the same price, but the 680 was a much better performer, with more "perks" and it looks cool as hell

16GB RAM?! You could play like 3 1080p games at the same time, and still run smooth as f**k!

What OS are you running now? You may not need the start-up drive. Just transfer your current hdd to the new tower.

You don't need an installed AV, just dl MalwareBytes and Avast, both free. And not bloated.

Do you really need Office? Notepad works for me and there is freeware that is just as good as Office.

I just upgraded my pc graphics from an Nvidia 9600GT (8 years and 3 pc's later. I still have it in case my new card breaks) to a GTX660 OC and it's very nice! I think it's cheaper than the 700 series.

With the money you save definitely get a blu-ray. Make sure you can upgrade the ram and have at least 3 PCI E slots for future g card upgrades. You'll also need at least an 850 watt power supply to start with.

I'm looking for a custom pc myself and will have 2k USD to spend. I'm torn between building my own or have one built for me.

Woah! You just upgraded from a 9600 to something current?!?
o_O

I still have a old ATI AGP card laying around somewhere

850 watt PSU? Not needed unless he is doing SLI/Crossfire or OCing (stick with one card)
