To be honest i think it's cause we have other stuff on and it's shared, cause currently i'm supposed to have 50mb, but 2 laptops are on, 1pc, an xbox360 and a ps3. |
2 PC's and a PS3 linked to mine

I didn't go for the full 100mb package because I would never need that kind of speed. Most I ususally get when downloading stuff is around 5mb. |
100mb is not much more expensive here, in fact it's pretty much the standard. I find I can get way over 5mb on a download, but more often from domestic than international sites.
Just checked my office connection:

This is dumb... is the test flawed or something?
Every time I test, I get significantly different results, also, I am on a 100 mbps network, with that download speed but it drops to 10-25 at the last second every time is it calculating sustained or average speed or something?
I actually know my download speed is faster then what is listed from really downloading things as well..

If you're constantly firing between 10-25 I would doubt you're on a 100mb/s. The test has margins of error (related to you and the test source), but not like that.
Either that or you have hamsters living in your PC.

its at 75 mbps most of the time, and it goes above that to nearly 100 at times, but then always falls back to the 10-25 range

Ping, I believe, is packet loss. It's the amount of packets of data that gets lost in transmission via your connection (to/from). Less than 50ms is generally acceptable.

Ping is-
"The TCP/IP service that lets you check to verify that you can reach another network node from your local host. Ping is usually a quick test to ensure that your connection is valid. The command will return the time in milliseconds that a packet takes to make the round trip from your local host to the remote host."

I'm on ADSL2+ in Australia. I have one of the best routers we could have bought, and still getting the same speeds as my old ISP where we had a modem from about 2001. :l

LOOOOL. That sir is fail on a whole new level on internet.
Ping is when you send packets to another machine, and it note the time (milliseconds) to travel from source TO destination, thus the lower the ping, the less "lag" as you call it.
Here's mine, on Virgin Media - fibre optic.

-Sinista- I notice your speeds are faster than 66% of india? That's scary. Do they pay people to run the packets back and forth on frashdrives or something?

Sometimes it refers to the round trip, there and back, rather than just one way. Depends how loosely they are using the term.
