Just came across this ridiculously funny one called Is This a Zombie?

it has a lot of perverted humor along with zombies, necromancers, magical girls and a vampire ninja ......oh and the main character has to cross dress to fight evil which as weird as that sounds makes for some of the funniest moments.

I may have to watch this! You said Zombies and Vampires in the description- that's enough for my attention Dx

Oh god, I remember this...
It was my first anime, and I'm shocked how it didn't scare me off seeing as how it's like what many people who have never seen anime think what anime is.

The World God Only Knows. Watch it.

watched it and it was better than i expected ... having played a few bishojo games myself made it all the more fun and easier to get some of the jokes ...

i read somewhere that a season 3 is in the works and should be out sometime this year

These are the few awesome animes I have watched and would advise people to watch:

Slam Dunk - it's an anime worth watching

Gensomaden Saiyuki - lots of action, comedy and stuff.

Shadow Skill

Samurai Champloo (i believe someone already mentioned this)

Hayao Miyazaki anime movies (ie Spirited Away, My neighbor totoro, etc) are good

GTO (great teacher onizuka)

iMagi: The Labyrinth of Magic (currently airing the last episodes of season 1)

strange name for the anime because for the manga its just called Magi

I will probably skip the anime for a long time until after the manga nears the end because by then I will have partially forgotten some early parts of the story.

btw just finished Baccano recently, shame they aren't doingg a second season because the characters are so unique and the finale kind of felt unfinished.

well the anime covers roughly 1/2 of the manga chapters right now and a second season is most likely in the works based upon the fact that the final episode(spoiler warning) covers the Zagan dungeon and That prince character(i forget his name) getting his own djinn(cant remember what they're called) and after that later on the story(in the manga s far) becomes very political and morally interesting regarding the characters and the other nations.(end spoiler). the series is very popular on a lot of manga sites so i wouldn't be surprised if a second season is done considering the current manga arc is almost done.

So is anyone watching any currently airing anime from this season?

I'm watching

Date A Live - (Another harem show. If you hate haremshit, avoid it).

Never before has more crap taken place during a harem than since Infinite Stratos. Good Lord the first episode was an awful 20 minutes. Episode 2 was an improvement. Hopefully by the third it becomes glorious and stays that way.

Ore no Imto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai 2 - (Second season of Oreimo.)

Labelled as a harem by some. Others refuse to call it as such since the main focus is the relationship between the MC and his sister... and the fact they want an incest end. The sick bastards. (I call it a harem, because I want Kuroneko to win.)

First episode was slow, but looks promising in terms of Kuroneko winning. Which is all I care about. Bound to improve over time before turning to utter shit if they don't go with an anime original end.

Hataraku Maou-sama! - (aka: Devil works at McDonalds)

God Devil-Tier Comedy. The Devil accidentallies his whole magic and ends up on Earth. Where he has to quickly adapt to survive in this new world without magic.

First episode was brilliant. Likeable characters, good comedy, lots of potential. Possibility of it going downhill, due to going down the Harem route.

Hopefully it avoids becoming a full blown romcom and Maou-sama doesn't let big tits and Hero vagina distract him from becoming the king of McDonalds.

Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san - (Comedy/SoL)

An innocent boy catches a Mermaid while fishing. They chat, and shit gets crazy... and lewd.

Most enjoyable first episode. Unexpectedly lewd. Although I've no idea why I wasn't expecting it considering JAPAN. If your brain isn't happy watching it, your dick might be.

Suisei no Gargantia - (Action/Mecha/Sci-Fi)

Lieutenant Redo and his overpowered as f**k mobile suit Chamber accidentally discover the long lost Earth when they enter a time space distortion during the opening battle for the survival of the human race. The Earth is completely flooded, and is now one giant sea where everyone lives on ships and salvages what they can from the depths.

Two episodes so far, and it's damn good. And not just because they have a H artist doing all the character designs. A nice amount of action, interesting characters, and an overpowered mech that eradicates everything. Most enjoyable.

Only show I regret starting so far is Date a Live. God knows what I was thinking. Hopefully it improves. Somehow.

i've watched some pretty bad ones in the past as well ... and i may end up watching the 2nd season of Hyakka Ryouran : samurai girls despite all indications that it will be another fluffy, superficial, harem comedy .. so, no apology needed

it seems there's a lot of positive hype floating around the net about a new show called Flowers of Evil ... has anyone checked it out ?

Does Boku wa Tomodachi classify as 'bad'? Or did you enjoy the second season? Because I thought it was a bit slow going and ultimately disappointing.

I was tempted to quickly marathon the first season of Hyakka Ryran Samurai Girls, just so I could follow it this season. But it really did just look like a show heavy on fan service with little else to offer.

I'll probably end up picking up a couple more shows today. Tempted to give Karneval a chance because it looks nice on the eyes, and apparently has a strong 'mystery' element. And boy do I love me some mystery.

Other picks are possibly 'My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected' - (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru). I-I don't think it's a harem. And hopefully it'll be a nice romantic comedy.

Aku no Hana? Positive? Really? As far as I'm aware it's the most hated show this season so far.

Apparently they completely butchered the manga they're supposed to be adapting, rotoscoped the entire anime, and made countless innocents ears bleed with the worst ending song known by mortal man.

Granted, I've not tortured myself with it personally. But I hear only terrible things.

A big name this season with some positive hype is 'Attack on Titan' - (Shingeki no Kyojin)
I've not watched the full first episode of it myself as of yet. But visually it looks really promising. I'll end up watching it if reviews stay consistently good.

imo the 1st season was better mainly because there was a flow to it ... character intros, relationship development and conclusion ... that's what i though season 2 lacked , especially the ending which had a pretty big build up but ended in an emotional cliff-hanger without any real closure
however i wouldn't call it bad ... just sort of average

examples i'd classify as "bad" would include both seasons of Sekirei, Maken Ki or Maburaho

it is quite heavy on fanservice and the plot is pretty basic ... the reason i watched it and will probably watch season 2 is because i like the graphics... they used dirty, grunge look that sort of reminds of some of the french comic book artists like bilal or moebius
obviously, its not the same as those 2 but there's something to it, tbh it's hard to explain ... to put it simply i find it visually appealing

wow .. that's harsh
i read 7 or 8 different reviews about it and the reviewers made it seem quite promising (after the rotoscope shock wears off), that's why i was wondering ...here's a few excerpts by different reviewers :

(...)Sometimes something comes along that even though you don't like it, even though it may make you uncomfortable, it is difficult to say that it isn't well done. Flowers of Evil, based on a manga that also made me uncomfortable to the point where I couldn't get through volume one, is just such a show.(...)

(...)the uneasy atmosphere sets it apart from anything else this season. Flowers of Evil stands out because of the way it shrinks into a corner: the slow, almost timid pacing; the students' utterly mundane behavior; even the quiet, minimalist soundtrack (the long silences in this episode leave an even stronger impression than the mournful piano fragments)(...)

(..)It's the rarest of rare events. A feeling a fan gets but a few times in their life, more rarely the older and more jaded they grow. It could betray you. Sometimes it does. It's only been one episode, so anything could still happen. Self-destruction. Degradation of quality. Novelty wearing off, narrative overreaching anything. But the feeling is unmistakable, undeniable. It was there as Berserk raged, as NANA broke hearts, as Kare Kano rekindled the magic of young love. And it's here too, in the first beautiful, unsettling episode of Hiroshi Nagahama's Flowers of Evil: the realization that you're watching a masterpiece unfold.(...)

Fixed

Bleach originally was a good series but was dragged on for too long and is now so convoluted that its just boring. The manga should've ended with Ichigo defeating Aizen and him losing his powers through that fight the series would've had a good enough ending without all the 2 extra arcs about him regaining his powers...losing them....regaining them etc.

I can only agree. The second season really was a step down. But then I probably shouldn't expect too much from a harem in the first place I guess.

I thought the OP and ED for the first season were better too.

I can't really complain I suppose. Having been fortunate enough to have not seen or heard much of the ones you've called bad.

I can't say it looks like an unfolding masterpiece. And I still won't be giving it a chance. But feel free to let me know if I'm wrong. It's still getting a lot of shit from a lot of people, if not everyone. Not to mention all the clips and screenshots I'm seeing just make it look like an absolute eye killer.

I wouldn't mind giving it an episode to see if I could warm to it. As unlikely as that is. But I suffer from being one of those people that can't bring myself to drop a show once I start watching it. Meaning I'd have to force myself to watch every last episode no matter how horrific it is.

Watched any of Attack on Titan yet? Only I've not got around to it. And I believe it's up to episode 3 now.

And I can't say I have watched the live action series of xxxHolic

attack on titan ... watched the 3 eps released and it's intense, heavy (kind'a like highschool of the dead was but without the fanservice)... i'm not sure about it yet but i'll keep at it

the xxxHolic live action ... i watched the 8 episodes in one go and enjoyed it a lot

also watched the Date Alive eps ... also not sure about it, it will depend on where they take he story but i'll keep watching

i stumbled on another new one that seems promising ... The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat ... only watched the 1st ep but it seems light and terribly funny
