How to level:
There are several ways to level up, the fastest way is to attack other players and leave them, mugging will also give some experience (Defeating higher levels gives more experience and remember that hospitalisation will give no exp at all). Other things you do will also give level experience which will gradually level you up, this includes most things such as doing crimes, training in the gym, winning races and playing games in the casino.
How do you rank up:
To rank up you need to hit a trigger , a list of rank triggers can be found here: tcbasic.com/information/ranks Once you hit one of these points you will go up a rank. .
How to do missions:
To do missions , go to city and to the red light district (located top right) and click Missions,
If you are able to do a mission it will give you the choice to Do beside it , press it to start the mission. You will then receive a mail describing what you need to do.
How to join a faction:
There is a board specific for joining factions called 'faction recruitment'. In here you can post your details in the 'Need a faction?' sticky - http://www.torn.com/forums.php?forumID=24&ID=4443105, or browse the threads made by recruiting faction leaders. When you find a faction that is right for you you can apply on the page of that faction, when accepted you will be a member.
What faction NAP means
When 2 factions decide they don't want to war each other, they do the Non Aggressive Pact for however many days they don't want to war. So when the pact runs out, then the factions can war each other if they choose to do so. This also works for ending/surrendering a current war.
How do i get a drivers licence:
To get your drivers licence , you need to do the drivers licence education course. It's the 2nd course under General Studies.
What does happiness do:
Happiness increases your gains in the gym, improves crime success and also helps you to be more efficient in your company. You can increase your maximum happiness by moving into a better/more upgraded house or upgrading your current house.
How can you send merits :
Merits cannot be sent, traded or sold, they are rare and for your use only, as you progress through the game you will find them to be more and more useful.
How do to earn points:
There are several ways to earn points, this can be done by:
- Buying points off of the market, although these can be hard to find sometimes, demand on this market is high
- Donate to the game, a single donation of $5 USD will provide you with a donator pack item which gives 50 points when used, multiple donations of this method can yield random extra-bonus points
- Subscribe to the game, becoming a subscriber will give you 75 points either annually or monthly (Monthly subscription gives 75 points a month, annual gives 900 a year)
- Steal points in the pawn shop, succeeding the 13 nerve pawn shop crime (Side door only) will give 3-7 points
- Submitting to the newspaper, you can submit your comics and articles to the newspaper when level 10, if accepted a comic will reward 250 points and an article gives 500
- Exchanging artefacts and other collectible sets in the museum, all artefacts as well as complete flower sets and plushie sets can be exchanged in the museum for points (unlocked after completing the bachelor of history), the amount of points you can acquire ranges between 5 for a complete plushie set, to 10,000 for a single Egyptian amulet.
- Referring players to the game, if a player signs up from your referral code (found at the bottom of the city page) you will be awarded with, among other things, 250 points.
Can I be staff:
You can apply to be staff by going to the city, click on staff, scroll down to the bottom and click where it says Apply to be a helper. To do this you need to be level 15 and have a forum post count of at least 100.
How do i creates sigs:
People use programs such as photoshop , but this has nothing to do with Torncity so we cannot give details on how to make sigs.
How do you buy ammo:
To buy ammo, click Items and then click Ammo locker, its located near the top of the page, make sure your weapon is also equipped. Once clicked, click the weapon that you want ammo for, it will then say purchase ammo at the top, then will ask how many rounds of ammo you want to buy.
How do I sell Ammo/Where can I check how much Ammo I have?
Go to Items. Then go to the Ammo Locker at the top of the page. There you see a link to 'Sell Ammo'.
Here you can check what clips you have and sell them.
When I OD, do I need to rehab:
Overdosing has nothing to do with how addicted you are. OD's are random, many people visit rehab after an OD because of larger addiction gained from an OD, or to refill their happiness due to the effects of a specific drug overdose (One 250k rehabilitation refills happiness).
How do I revive people?:
You need to have reached the rank of Brain Surgeon in Medical. Then you'll see a small first aid kit symbol on their profile when they're in hospital. You can also visit the hospital and click [Revive] besides their name from there. Once you have this skill you keep it, even if you leave to work elsewhere.
How do you sell items:
Most of the items can be sold in shops located in the east side of the city, you can also sell your weapons and armour by clicking [sell] besides them (Note that both of those previous methods will contribute towards networth, any beyond this point do not). Other methods involve selling to other players, you can add items to the item market for a 3% fee, auction them off at the auction house at level 5+, set up a trade with another user and sell direct there, or sell them in a bazaar if you own one (unlocked by exchanging 250 points for a bazaar)
How to increase awareness?
There are various ways to increase your awareness, you can do any of the following things:
Increase awareness with merits
Increase awareness with education (Psychology - attention and awareness)
Increase awareness with job specials (Illumination - Three star special in candle shops/firework stands)
Increase awareness with drugs (LSD and Ecstasy both increase awareness whilst under the effects)
Married…..How do you get:
First you need a ring, you can buy these in the city - Jewellery shop.
Then go to the items page, and click [propose] next to the ring.
Next enter the ID number of the player you want to marry.
How do you divorce your spouse:
You go to city, then divorce agency and click it , you need to be married for at least 7 days before you can divorce someone though.
How can my spouse move in with me?
Your spouse will have to go to the Properties link on the sidebar and then click the move in link (small van icon) next to the house they want to live in.
What's the best weapons and armour:
The best weapons and armour can be very expensive and vary greatly from player to player, a budget beginner weapon set would be the following:
More powerful and expensive alternate weapons include:
Primary: Armalite M-15A4 Rifle/Jackhammer/Swiss Army SG550 (choose either)
Secondary: BTMP9
Melee: Nunchakas/Dual melee (Dual weapons include dual axes/hammers/scimitars/samurai swords, all are identical in power and accuracy)
What crimes should I do: For 25NB
Keep doing 7.2 crimes which are thorough robberies they give the best exp for that range, if you have a gas can and a drivers licence give the occasional arson warehouse a try.
For 30NB
Arson warehouse for best exp,
Government Building arson for best cash payout, but be warned reds can seriously harm your crime experience.
For 35NB
Once you reach your 35nb you can do Kidnapping the mayor which gives the best exp-money ratio in all the crimes.
Or else you can continue doing arson warehouses , both routes will in time take you to your 40nb
For 40NB
Same as 35nb, and if your feeling risky throw in a few arms trafficking, these are good for quick cash, however provide poor experience
For 45NB
Aim for merits and so on , be warned don't try to many hard crimes, your nerve bar can still be very easy to lose, being jailed will lose more experience than any other fail result, hospitalisation loses medium experience, and paying a fine loses minimal exp.
Stick with Kidnapping mayor in my opinion for best cash with littlest chance of exp loss.

How do you start a company:
Once you are level 10 you can buy companies via the jobs listing on the newspaper, select the company you wish to buy and there will be a link at the bottom of the page to start a company of that type. Alternatively you can join a company already made and become the director via the trade function, effectively buying ownership from the other user.
Why can't I use my Job points? (Mostly asked by people in Car Dealer Ships).
The job specials in a Car Dealer Ship don't require job points.
The specials will stat working 3 days after you join the company and will stop working when you leave or get kicked. Job specials that do not require job points are always active after 3 days of being in the company (For as long as you are in the company).
How do I find things / How do I walk though the city?

Can I take my cars out of the racing
Once a car has been enlisted it cannot be taken back, it can be removed, but you do not receive the car in your items.
How can I cancel my application to a faction/company?
Go to settings (top right), then go to Management.
There you can manage all your applications.
How do I play Russian Roulette?
You need to complete the Russian roulette mission which is Operation Prospect. Then go to Items and click [Use] behind the S&W revolver.
Enter the amount of money you want to play for and the ID of your opponent and then wait until they accept the invitation. You can accept a challenge of Russian roulette at any level but you cant challenge until the mission is done.
How do I make my aggressive faction peaceful?
The simple answer is you can't, peaceful factions no longer exist, every one has the potential for war.
What is Networth? How do I get it? What counts towards it? Can I see how much i have?
Networth is a hidden value of cash you have made from certain things in Torn. The ONLY things that contribute to networth is from selling ITEMS to the game (Either to the east side shops or clicking [sell] besides weapons/armour) or by making money from crimes.
- Note that selling houses does not count, nor does any transaction that involves selling to another player
How do I get awards/merits?
You gain awards by reaching certain achievements in Torn, such as doing a certain amount of crimes, travelling, and finding items in the city. A full list can be found here: tcbasic.com/information/awards
How to you use the Stock Market?
[Use] 20 points to get a stock ticker, then go to the Stock Market in the city, click on which stock to buy, if there are any for sale you can buy them, or go to the Stock Market forum and trade with someone directly.

How to make lots of money, fast!?:
To succeed in Torn you need to have patience. It gets easier to make money.
Doing plenty of crimes, follow the TCBASIC crimes and nerve bar guides to help you do this more successfully. You can "Slut" (lose for money), check for ads in the newspaper and Trading Post forum slutting sticky. Claim Bounties from the newspaper. Once you make a large amount of money you can try the Stock Market. Buy a Donator Pack and sell it or the points for millions of dollars!

How can I make my company 5 stars?:
It's probably is a certain amount of money but there's many things in Torn that Ched doesn't want anyone to know. So he doesn't tell us. All I can do is offer advice on running it best you can and it will happen, in time. Things like try and keep staff stars up, so encourage them to login daily and rehab when they OD or get too addicted (rehab will refill their happy fast). Use all trains daily, it seems to help EFF. Upgrade, have more employees, get good stat ones in the right positions. Compare similar companies prices. So try and keep EFF, ENV and CLEAN up and POP will just happen. Hope that helps a little.
How do I level up?
There are several aspects of the game that help you level up, attacking, training, crimes, organised crimes.
But at the lower levels of the game I wouldn’t recommend attacking so much, you need to work on your battle stats this will enable you to beat people when you’re at a higher level in the game.
When you attack you get the most experience by leaving someone this is what you use when attempting to level. You can mug players which gives you a small amount of experience and some of the user’s money on hand (approx 1 – 3%). People can ‘crit mug you’ this is when they get a large amount of cash more than a normal mug.
Hospitalising people gives no exp at all, it puts the user in hospital for a long time on average 3-6 hours.
Training in the gym also gives a small bit of levelling experience (I know this because after training I have had the level up button).
Crimes, in my opinion these are your main money source from in game your nerve bar is used with your crimes so the higher your nerve the more money you can make from harder crimes. There are plenty of crime guides arround the forums so take a look.
To participate in ‘Organised Crimes’ you need to be within a ‘Faction’ you can join a faction by posting in the ‘Looking For A Faction’ sticky in the ‘Faction Recruitment’ forum. Within a faction you make friends and sometimes gain money from being there.
Which drug should I use for training?
For training there is one of two drugs that most people use. ‘Ecstasy’ and ‘Xanax’. Ecstasy doubles your happy and the happy stays there until the happy regeneration points at xx: 00 xx: 15 xx: 30 xx: 45. Ecstasy is the cheaper of the two usually costing 40 – 50k; I’d recommend this for lower levels. Most people use ecstasy and refill straight after to get the maximum out of their double happy. The effects of ecstasy last for 200 minutes plus. When you overdose you will lose all of your happy and your friends list, so I advise tagging your friends list. Ecstasy also increases your awareness for a short amount of time.
If you have the money Xanax is the way to go. This is the best drug for training as it increases your energy by 250 and you’re happy by 60 – 75. Xanax also has a higher addiction rate so I’d recommend being level 15 or above so you can fly to rehab. You need to use this before the energy refills, which are every 10 minutes for donators or 15 minutes for non donators. The drug affects last for 360 minutes +. The overdose effects on this are severe. 5000mins in Hospital, - 50 life (permanent), Lose all energy, happy and nerve. Overdose effects are at least 1385 minutes.
How do I increase my nerve bar?
The only way of increasing your nerve bar is by doing crimes. In my opinion these are your main money source from in game your nerve bar is used with your crimes so the higher your nerve the more money you can make from harder crimes. For the lower nerve bars I’d recommend you do some nerve bar three crimes to get your nerve bar up to 15, this may take a few and you should expect some reds but do persevere.
When you have a stable 15 nerve bar you can try some harder crimes like robbing the sweet shop, for this you need a weapon equipped. Just keep on doing this until you get your nerve up to 20. I’d also recommend doing a mixture of the 5 nerve crime whilst increasing it up to 20; this is a stable crime with good crime experience gains.
When you get your 20 nerve stable it with some busts. Whilst you’re aiming for your 25 nerve you should stable your 20 nerve bar by mugging ‘Tim’ the loan shark on the five nerve crimes. You are now able to move up to the ‘Thorough Robberies’ on the seven nerve crimes, if you are failing these go back to mugging Tim, whilst trying the odd thorough robberies to see if you can do it, if you can great then use this crime to get your nerve up to thirty.
When you’re up on a thirty nerve bar ‘Arson Warehouses’ are strongly recommended, to complete this crime you will need a driving license you can obtain this from the education course ‘GEN2113 : Driving Licence’. You’ll also need a gas can which you can purchase of other players or from the points building for 100 points. (I’d recommend buying off another player.) Just continue doing warehouses until your 35 nerve bar. I know the money isn’t good but it will benefit you later on.
When you’ve done so many ware houses try kidnapping the mayor always keep $75,000 on hand in case you fail, this will prevent you going to jail. When doing warehouses you get the occasional red but don’t let that bother you too much.
When you do get a 35 nerve bar I’d recommend doing again a mixture of arsons and mayor kidnaps along with busts from the front page (higher dexterity = better bust success rate).
Just keep on doing this up until a 40 and a 45 nerve bar. Busts help a lot. Please note that the higher that your happy is the better your crime success rate is.

My happy is at 0 how do I increase it?
There are several ways of re generating your happy. Drugs, Erotic DVD’s, FHC’s, Rehab, Free ride, Xbox, Holiday Candy, Tissues.
Erotic DVD’s are from the PRN stock benefit, it takes around two months to unlock they are gave to the user on average once a week. These can be bought for 4-5m and give 1000 happy when used.
For happy I’d recommend taking an ecstasy as it doubles your happy, I wouldn’t recommend this when your happy is really low as it will not have much effect.
You can also use Feathery hotel coupon which is from the FHC stock. These are given to the shareholder on average once a week. When used the FHC increases your happy by 500 and refills your energy. These are being bought for 70-100m at the moment. A bit of a waste if you ask me.
If you are level fifteen you can travel, if you fly to Switzerland and rehab at the cost of $250,000 it fully regenerates your happy bar.
Free Rides are a company special from an ‘Amusement Park’ company; the park has to be at three stars to be able to use it. The special costs 30 job points and it increases your happy by 250. Free Rides can be bought in the forums for 250-500k each.
In order to use the Xbox and Play station’s they cost ten energy for ten happy, which isn’t worth it at all. These items are found around the city and can be bought off other players.
Holiday Candy from events like Christmas Town and Halloween town give a boost of 5-10 happy, to me this is pointless as you can just keep theme for your display if you own one.
Tissues can be bought from the ‘Bit’s and bobs’ shop within the city; however these can only give up to 25% of your happy back.
What is a Dirty Bomb? How do i create one? How much is it?
A dirty bomb is an item created by factions to drop on another faction. It takes off 25% respect when it is used. A pre request for creating a DB is having the ‘GEN2119: General Science’ course completed. The faction that wants to create a dirty bomb needs at least 20 members, a lab. During the creation process of a DB the users that are in the faction cannot leave or travel. The leader needs to have a ‘Hazmat Suit’ equipped. During the period that the dirty bomb is being created (1 week) users within the faction can fall ill with mild radiation poisoning. To create a DB you need to have 100 hundred of the item Cesium-137. The Cesium-137 is only obtained from being found in the city they then get sold on for what a faction is paying (the current price is 200-230m). In order to start the process of creating a DB a faction needs to have at least 10,000 respect, this is so they can create the lab. The lab is priced at 200m.
How can I make money?
There are several ways of making money in the game: Slutting; Bounties; Trading; Stock Market; Drug Running; Donating.
At the moment the hot way for “n00bs” to make money is by attacking and losing to people. People pay anything from 50k to 500k. If you hit the target more than 6 times in half hour (this can be done by refilling your energy, using a vicodin, owning a donator pack.). Although some people may require run aways and not pay for losses so you could lose your energy, make sure you clarify that with the person you slut for.
By claiming bounties in the newspaper this can be a decent sort of income and you can get awards of it, but I wouldn’t recommend it as you can make a lot more of slutting.
Trading this is a basic and easy way of making money if you know what you’re doing, to put it simple buy low and sell high.
The stock market isn’t as good as it used to be to make money but people are in it for the shareholder benefits, these are items or dividends that get gave out depending on what stock it is. To be able to drug run you must be at least level 15, this is so you can travel abroad and get drugs. To find out the current prices of drugs you can click chat and go into the IRC room #drugden where someone will help you to get the prices. To increase the items you can bring back there is a job special in a three star cruise line which lets you bring an extra two items back, you can have a large suitcase which is an extra four items back, also an airstrip on a pi gives you an extra 10 items. So if you have all these you can bring back a total of 21 items from a trip.
Donating with real life cash is an easy way to make money, you can make around 7.5m off selling one dp. DP’s cost $5 usd to buy but if you need the money it is well worth it. Or you could use the donator pack and sell the points for 50k each (50,000*50=2,500,000).

How do I create my own channel?
Hi there, to register and own your own channel you will need to make sure that your nick is registered and identified. First of all you need to join the channel you would like to register (it can’t be registered by anyone else) to join the channel use “/join #channel” you need to make sure that you have op there (@ sign next to your name). Now then the command to register your channel is “/cs REGISTER #channel password description” you change the #channel for the channel name. The password must be different to your irc and your torn password. The channel description is a short brief description on the channel. Here is an example “/cs register #kk randompassword998 My Room”. Now you should have your own channel and chanserv sets modes +ntr these modes can’t be taken off. I didn't say that im saying the syntax used is wrong. For exp-money ratio, mugging tim would be highest as there is very high exp yet terrible money (hence a high ratio). Kidnapping has a good combo of exp and money, although the ratio would be pretty much 1:1 (as both are high).
