I was hosp'ed overnight and when I checked the log...I was kinda surprised:

Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the left foot for 21986 damage
Gossef hit with their Kodachi Swords in the stomach for 0 damage

Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the head for 543 damage
Gossef hit with their Enfield SA-80 in the left foot for 0 damage

Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the right arm for 124 damage
Gossef hit with their Kodachi Swords in the stomach for 0 damage

Someone reloaded their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle
Gossef hit with their BT MP9 in the left hand for 0 damage

Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the chest for 88 damage
Gossef hit with their BT MP9 in the chest for 0 damage

Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the chest for 88 damage
Gossef hit with their BT MP9 in the left thigh for 0 damage

Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the head for 533959 damage
Someone hospitalized Gossef

First of all:
Why are chest-hits doing 88 damage, when a hit to the left foot suddenly equals almost 22000 damage? Generally it's the other way around. Did I forget to put my invul-boots on or something...

But the next one is even more stunning.
The 2 hits in the head:
Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the head for 543 damage
Someone hit with their ArmaLite M-15A4 Rifle in the head for 533959 damage

A difference of a factor 1000. How is this even possible. 2 Headshots, 1 barely scratches me, and the other does over 100% of my total hp.

Whoever attacked you might have high merits on critical hit % chance. They also might have low strength.
Im sure that would result in a weird attack like this.

Note to self: Don't put Crappy Sigs here.

Chest armor?:|

That doesn't explain the difference between the chest/foot and the huge difference between the 2 headshots.

The effects of defence also tend to be rather variable (as does attack damage).

On one of those crits your defence worked, while on the other crit it pretty much didn't.

it absolutely does explain the difference. if you have chest armor (flexible or liquid armor) it won't cover your foot.

Also current the attacking system has a lot of changing variables. in one attack you can hit extremely low, then the next attack on the same person you can hit extremely high compared to the last attack. there is a bit of "luck" when attacking sometimes.

First head shot they grazed your ear, second they got you between the eyes.

I tend to find that def is pretty temperamental, attacks occasionally seem to just bypass it completely. Lost count of the amount of times I've seen multiple headshots for 0 followed by a leg/arm shot for 100s of thousands.

I've found a few def whore's who took a few hits in 3 digits before i broke them with a large crit.
