Can someone explain to me how exactly the stat cap works?

I read in TCBasic and Torn wiki, but they both don't seem to say the same thing.

For example in an Oil rig with stat cap of 25,000 (Manual as primary and endurance as secondary stat) and I have someone with 43k manual and 21k endurance.

Does this person contribute already 150% (so the maximum) since 43k + 21k/2 > 50k (TCBasic says this) or do we calculate 66% * 43k + 21k*33% = 35.6k --> 120% (I think torn wiki says this)?

Any help is much appreciated

i may not be a director but i equally own and ran the company my husband is a director of, we have owned this company for a long time now and in the process of running it we have come across a lot of cases which TCBasic or torn wiki's explanations on an employees efficiency and stats do not explain.

take one example of an employee we have right now:

Employee A:
extremely active (this rules out the activity factor)
does not use drugs (this rules out the drug factor)
working stats are: M:2k E:5k I:8k

if we put him as a cleaner: 4 star employee
if we put him as a salesperson: 5 star employee

our company is a furniture shop and the stats needed for these positions are:
Rank: Cleaner Primary stat: manual Secondary stat: endurance Stat cap: 2,000
Rank: Salesperson Primary stat: intel Secondary stat: endurance Stat cap: 15,000

if we believe TCBasic then Employee A is:
as a Cleaner: 2k + 5k/2 = 4.5k stats --> he should be 150% and should be 5 stars, not 4 stars
as a Salesperson: 8k + 5k/2 = 10.5k stats --> he should be 70% and should be 3 or 4 stars, not 5 stars

if we believe torn wiki then Employee A is:
as a Cleaner: 2k*66% + 4.5k*33% = 2.8k --> he should be 140% and should be 5 stars, not 4 stars
as a Salesperson: 8k*66% + 5k*33% = 6.9k --> he should be 46% and should be 2 or 3 stars, not 5 stars

i am giving this example just to show that i don't think both sites (TCBasic and torn wiki) have a full grasp on how the efficiency, stats and cap stats are related so i don't think anyone can explain how exactly they work, unless the coders are the ones responding.

having said that, for choosing between the explanations of TCBasic and torn wiki, i'd go with TCBasic, their explanation makes more sense to me and is easier to calc

In simpler words.
Someone with 25k Man, and someone with 50k Man have the same effectiveness in a company and they have reached the stat cap.

not if they have reached the stat cap but if they have reached 2x the stat cap, so if the stat cap is 25k then the one with 50k will still have a better efficiency even if both have reached the stat cap as he will be 150% efficient vs 100% for the one with the 25k.

Simpler words needed for you, that's entirely untrue.

Someone with 50k man will be 50% more effective than someone with 25k man.

The stat caps work as follows

Anything below the stat cap is '100% effective'. Anything above the stat cap is 50% as effective. Anything past couple the cap no longer effects the company.

So someone with 50k and 100k manual would have the same effect.

Let's take oil rigs again, cap is 25k manual.

(We're assuming 0 secondary stat for now)

Player A has 25k manual. They are considered '100% efficient'
Player B has 35k manual. That 25k manual makes up for the 100% efficiency, but they have another 10k. However, this 10k is half as effective. So makes up a further 20%. This player is 120% efficient.
Player C has 50k manual. First 25k makes up the 100% efficiency. The additional 25k is half as effective, making a further 50%. This player is 150% efficient.

Secondary stats apply in exactly the same way, but the calculation is halved again.

Sticking with oil rigs, for example 50k endurance (secondary)= 25k manual labour. This is added to the calculation, but a player still cannot exceed 150% efficiency.

So. To answer OP's question. Someone with 43k manual and 21k endurance.

Simple terms, if we assume that someone with 50k manual is maximum efficiency. Just add half of what their secondary stat is to their primary. It exceeds 50k, so they're optimally efficient.
