Sorry for this boring and repetitive question but do you lose nerve bar exp for getting caught whilst trying to bust?

If so, is it minor or major amounts?

Thanks in advance.

You loose experience for a red result of a failed bust. A brown you don't; however you gain far more than what you could loose from busting.

Apply here if you have over 500k stats or are extremely active.

It was admin comfirmed long ago that you lose no experience busting. The proof...have you ever heard of some one losing a NB due to busting?

Hiring for my company 50k int=600k. Druggies are welcome if active. Paying 350k for stalemates, I will unload weapons so anyone can do it.

Duckie (aka BambinaDuckie, a staff member) once said that you lose a tiny bit of experience for getting caught busting, but she said that the amount was so small as to be completely negligible. I've probably failed so many busts as to be in the top 10 in all of Torn for it if it were a HoF But it never gave my nerve bar any trouble. I also did successful busts and sensible crimes that supported and built up my nerve bar.

Of course, my info is all years old so may be drastically out of date. I've preferred bailing over busting for a long time now. Good luck to all the new busters out there though! And be sure to talk to your fellow busters and bonds(wo)men, there are some awesome people in that circle ^_^

Check my profile sig FAQ's for more info on my bails. I've gotten over 80K people out of jail and spent over $2.6B on bails!

Probably from the same people that came to the conclusion that busting gives no experience based off the self busters trying to get back there NB after trashing them even though it's been proven 1000s of times otherwise.

Not that it really matters, but she used to be a secretary. Good Lord, do you have to argue with everything?

Did you actually read what you quoted or are we having a bad day? I agreed with some one else and asked a very simple question. And no it doesn't matter either way, god what was your point again?

To be honest I also thought the same thing. Who cares if they are moderator or secretary? Why is there this assumption that staff have all this super secret inside knowledge of the inner workings of the game, as compared to non-staff members, and that every time they make a post with their opinion or whatnot that they're '100% right cause they are a staff member'?

(I'm not meaning to pick on Duckie here, it's just that she was a specific person mentioned - no offence Duckie!)

Staff members have opinions and hypotheses too.

@OP: I saw your thread earlier but did not reply to it, as no one actually knows for sure (and it would be difficult to test due to all the variables). However I believe most people are answering in a logical sense. ie. if you gain from a successful bust, then it stands to reason a fail would lose you exp - however since everyone has more successes than failures, you 'come out on top' exp wise (if you know what I mean). That is my conjecture and opinion sorry it's not very helpful!

Have seen twice someone in a failed PA OC who was 4th in rank in that team, he was hosped in those fails and he dropped his 45 (it was new and he regained it after that and failed another PA again in 4th place & hosp).

The first time I had a 45 natural nerve bar I did loose it and I had no red crime results my only red WAS from busting. They may have changed it as it was a long time ago. I've had my 45 nerve bar for well over 1000 days so yes (probably longer than 1500 but the point is the same), it may have changed since then.
