I see plenty of companies where there is only type of employee[say agents in cruises, producers in TV corporations, drillers in rigs] filling in 99% of the positions.

I don't understand why they don't need a reasonable amount of the other employees.[say at least 10% of the positions]

For example: A TV corporation would require at least a few programmers and a few directors right?

Because they are the bread and butter of the company. Would you even imagine a sports team with 50% of its employees being waterboys?

Because it is the most profitable way to do it.

You can't really use logic or how it is in real life when it comes to this stuff.
