Def is a counter to str, but how much def do you need to counter out str?
example, you have 500 def, what is the max amount of str you will counter (so he hits 0)

It depends on a lot of things. Mostly who is attacking. Def works much better when attacking than when defending.

I wonder these thing vary place to place as normal hits need more str to take damage than critical hits.
I just beleive 25%-30% more.

the agressor has X def and hits you for 0 damage (no crit)how much str can he have?

Well i just attacked someone with 300 mill defence and i have 266mill strength. I did (21) Damage when i hit them in the right hand. When they attacked me i couldnt do any damage (0).
Hope that gives you some idea.

I can only assume you need 750 str to make a low damage but to win you need 200%-250% more str but only if their speed and dex are exactly same.
and A/Q Karna's post he may have done some education and faction special.
Nevermind just giving a thought.

Yep that's correct. Defense is much more effective when you are the attacker. Doesn't work as well when you are defending though..

This i Lady_Wyrd attacking me! i have 10 mil def she claims to have 2.5mil str + a lot of crit and str merits.
as you can see she still did damage to me not a lot (but a 21k hit when i have 10 mil def? 4 X more then her str !)
i think the def system is broken, why would anybody max def when you dont use it do def with ?? really that is just stupid, i have been maxing out def because i want to be able to def again attacks, when you need 4 * more def then the agressor it gets a bit retarded to keep maxing it out

From what I've experienced to date
#1 as everyone should know Torn logic = defence works best when attacking
1m defence when defending can withstand damage against:
10-500kish strength, it makes little difference, someone with 10.0000 (basic start out stat) can still hit you and hit you for damage usually around 12 damage and up to about 500k strength they still hit you but it's for like 15/12 damage still nothing really, very rarely get hit for 0's.
500k/750k tends to do anywhere from 25/250 damage with the odd 12/15k chest shot (not crit) crits always end up 0 for some reason lol.
750k/1m+ tends to do regular 10k+ damage and managed to quite easily break through the 1m defence when they're attacking
1m defence when attacking can withstand damage against:
10/750k tends to be EVERY hit 0
750k/1m tends to be 0's with the odd 15k shot
1m/1.25m tends to be 10/15k shots with the odd 0
1.5m+ not much affect maybe the odd 0
