This is actually a few questions re: the new stock market.

How does new stock market work? I can't find Ched's post. Does the system not buy back stocks whatsoever now, and they're only sold when a player buys them?

And is it specific to that stock, meaning if a player buys SYS, only SYS will be sold? Does the system still put up stocks for sale? And if a player buys stocks that the system puts up for sale, does that mean another player's shares of a different stock will be sold, since the money went into the stock system it can now go back out, and still be zero-sum? If the system puts up shares of a stock, like WLT for sale, and then a player puts up their shares for sale afterward, will the system's shares be sold first? Anyone know?

The seven day thing is no longer correct.

As far as the NPC buying stocks:

By Chedburn [1]
This has now been altered so it will only buy up as many shares that were sold by the system previously. This way the money entering the system is limited. But a window for profit is open. Stocks will always be injecting money in to the economy, but protected and limited.

A player might buy your stock as well, but they tend to not buy when the price is high.

I think the longest I have heard someone having stock on the market for sale was 17 days. By that time the price probably experienced significant depreciation.

Basically, if you try to sell stock when price is at its peak, you will probably end up disappointed.

While it is claimed that stock is sold on a FIFO basis, it is not. Numerous tests have shown otherwise. There is some secret algorithm or random chance that determines whether your stock will be bought. In my experience, it seems to happen more often when you are logged out and less active.
