I'm not sure if this is supposed to be how it is but I am stuck in a rectangular area of Christmas town. My current coordinate is 28/1 and for the last two days I have not been able to find a way out of the rectangle. I am also unable to send myself to the hospital thereby resetting my progress. If someone can assist me, I would be most grateful.

Have you tried looking at the map in the top left hand corner might help you navigate out of there

i have tried clicking in every direction on every accessible tile that i can reach and i can not proceed in any direction that would lead me out.

some tiles need to be walked on more then once to trigger.

Take a peek at the GD walkthrough to figure out which tile you need.
Then walk on/off it till it triggers.

if all else fails and i have somehow was able to access a part that i was not supposed to be able to access then what would i do to get out?
