hi!
My and my boyfriend use the same computer and i sent him an item and got a warning saying that since we use the same ip address its suspicious and we might get banned. I just don't want to get our accounts banned. Any suggestions?

Play this game on your own. Your boyfriend doesnt play this game. If you try to interact with him on the same IP you are both going to get banned.

But seriously, hasn't anyone ever had this problem before? there's lots of people that share a computer. Is there really nothing we can do?

lots of people have had that problem. some of them are 2 different people. most of them are multies and they get banned for interacting with each other

Sloff, thanks for giving a helpful answer without being rude.
Dunmugmeh, if I wanted to know why they don't want people to use the same ip address I would have asked why. But I didn't, I asked if there was anything we could do so that we can both use the same computer without getting our accounts banned.
Honestly, I was hoping for some interaction with the staff, or at least some users that had something informative to say.
It's ok though, I'll settle this off forum.

Problem:
Two, or more, accounts share the same IP
Symptoms:
Cannot send items to each other

Can do very little to each other

Solutions:

Actually, I just got that same answer from one of the staff too...
Looks like we're going to have to get divorced. (never thought I would be this calm about saying those words) lmao
I'm wondering if it would change things if we both bought monthly subscriptions though. I'll keep you all updated as I find out more about the situation.

Ok, so after going over the Terms of Service I found a few things that might help.
Under the Terms of Service, item 4 states:
4) You are only allowed to have one account per individual. Players found to have multiple accounts also known as "multis" will have the main account jailed and all other accounts deleted.

6) Every player must respect every other player and individual in society. You must not discriminate against someone because of his or her age, gender, skin color, sexual preference, religion or personal beliefs. Any player found to be actively discriminating against another player or member of society in any way, will have their accounts terminated and further action may be taken. This includes, without limitation, character name, message board posts and chat rooms. Account sharing is also against the game rules.

There's nothing that mentions two people sharing an ip address so (and this is where administrator help would be useful), is the set of rules that was posted above in this topic just the unwritten "acceptable" way of doing things or is it written somewhere?
The reason I ask is that in item 11 it mentions additional rules and regulations. I honestly wasn't sure where to even begin looking for those, and I haven't had any luck so far.

Having to prove that some snot-nosed little **** really is cheating every time some snot-nosed little **** cheats would suck. The rules are kept very vague and are analysed on a case-by-case basis.
One prime example of why this is needed:
The system has reported nine accounts all using the same IP, and trying to share items with each other.
The staff talk to the accounts, and find they are all saying "We're family, brothers/sisters etc".
Staff have to decide whether this is true, or the accounts are multis.
Generally though, if you stick to the rules, you're fine

We can tell the difference between multis and 'boyfriends/girlfriends' on the same IP. Playing on the same IP is fine as long as you are two different people. We can tell, we don't just take it on faith.
