Hi, in this guide you will find the following:
1. the best weapons to equip
2. complete list of all weapons, sorted by classes
3. the best weapon(s) of each class
4. some facts concerning weapons that I have been carrying together.
This topic basically addresses newer members that want to have a clue on what weapon to use or want to get the weapon merits.
Therefore I didn't consider the new 2.5bill-special-weapons that are auctioned by ched or the Gold Plated Ak-47 or the Pink Mac-10. All of these weapons are definitely more powerful than the ones listed here but most of torn's citizens won't have enough money to buy them. Same with the Handbag that makes as much damage as the Yasukuni Sword while it is as accurate as a macana (but costs 16b).
Please note that this can only be a guideline. The perfect weapon for you depends on your stats (compared to your opponent's of course), your way of playing the game and your personal preference.
Upgrading this topic to a complete guide for everyone who wants to know which weapon is the best for their purpose has been done after I consulted Simone (who made the Weapon Class Guide) and she gave her OK for this.
*Thanks to Finbo(1502832) for the graphics!
*Thanks to FIN_DUDE who linked some weapons for me!
You can use the Jackhammer when defending and switch to Enfield/Armalite when attacking. Since you don't use clips when defending one of the Jackhammers biggest downsides is eliminated.
Macana has a higher accuracy than the two swords. So if your speed is lower than your opponent's dex: use the Macana (or the Nunchakas if you prefer these). Kodachi Swords have a higher damage if you have completed Japanese blade education course, but are less accurate. If you didn't complete that course, don't use it. Yasukuni Swords have highest damage and are still fairly accurate. Use this if you have a lot of speed (and a weak opponent) and you can't afford the Naval Cutlass Sword.
After the new air route to the Caymans has been established, many started to replace their Macanas by Diamond Bladed Knifes. They are said to have a higher hidden crit-hit-rate.
The the dual wield weapons are the most powerful. They are a bit less accurate than Nunchakas, Macana and DBK, though. So you may want to keep one of these in case you need a very accurate weapon.
The Naval Cutlass Sword Makes as much damage as the Yasukuni Sword and almost as much as the duals while it is as accurate as the duals. This is your weapon of choice if you have some cash at hand (but not enough for dual wield weapons) and don't need an extremely accurate weapon.
Temporary weapons work in many different ways and thus can actually not be compared properly. These maybe are the best weapons for getting finishing hits. But when you only want to distract the opponent, you should take for example a smoke grenade. Epinephrine, Melatonin Serotonin are boosters that are very useful, too, when you have unlocked them.
Use the Taser if you want high accuracy
and the Chainsaw if you have enough speed and want to do a lot of damage.

...Dual (melee) Weapons:[/b] All dual weapons have the same stats. Which one you use is just personal preference == discussion ...Japanese blade education course: The 10% bonus only counts for weapons that are available in Japan, not for all those that are meant to come originally from there. Yasukuni Sowrd users for example do not benefit from this special. ...Enfield vs. Armalite: According to bogie you are marginally more likely to hit with the Enfield because of the larger ammo capacity. The Armalite on the other hand makes slightly more damage and has a better crit hit rate. http://www.torn.com/forums.php?forumID=3&ID=13716094 ...Weapon Equipment: If you don't want to attack much and only need weapons to defend yourself, it may be useful to equip only one weapon - usually a melee weapon or a Crossbow or Jackhammer. This way you make sure that the auto defence only uses your strongest/best weapon. ...how to fire the most rounds (e.g. for Spray and Pray or Two Halves Make a Hole awards): definitely use Minigun
If anyone wants to add or comment anything: feel free to do so.
I didn't copy anybodys work. You may have noticed that this is one of the oldest of the topics like this that hang around here.
If somebody stole anybody's work then it is the newer topics that stole the results of this topic The topic was created on my personal experience, discussions in this topic and discussions in the forum of my faction.
I especially didn’t copy bogies post.
Simone’s “weapon class guide” has indeed been used for the complete weapon list. But upgrading this topic to a complete guide for everyone who want’s to know which weapon is the best for their purpose has been done after I consulted her and she gave her OK for this.
I don't see why this should be rated -. A topic like this, filled with information will prevent all of us from frequend questions like "what weapon is the best melee??" "what is the best primary weapon?" "what is the best best weapon for the pistols merit?"
But if you rather want to answer or see those questions again and again, you may of cause rate- and go away...
Finishing hits-
By bogie [148747]
Heavy artillery: Minigun (Cheaper than most and effective)
Machine guns: M249 Para LMG (TC's only machine gun)
Rifles: Armalite M-15A4 Rifle (Arguably the best rifle for its price, go for an Enfield SA80 if you're cheap)
Sub machine guns: BTMP9 (One of the best all round weapons in the game)
Shotguns: Jackhammer/Mag 7 (Best all rounder shotguns, if your speed isn't up to scratch then use the MAG7)
Pistols: Qsz-92 (Best pistol by far, often a prefered alternative secondary to a BTMP9)
Temporary weapons: HEG (Most powerful and accurate temp weapon)
Piercing weapons: Macana (A favourite of most, powerful and accurate)
Slashing weapons: Kodachi swords (Best slashing weapon for price, dual sams/scims sometimes preferred but much more expensive)
Clubbed weapons: Nunchakas (Best clubbing weapon for price, dual hammers/axes sometimes preferred but much more expensive)
Machinery: Chainsaw (Only two machinery weapons, other being taser, most prefer the chainsaw)
Heavy artillery: Minigun is probably the best but it has no style, so i would choose the rpg
Machine guns: M249 PARA LMG
Rifles: Enfield SA-80 gotta love this one its my COD gun
Sub machine guns: BT MP9
Shotguns: Jackhammer
Pistols: Qsz-92
Temporary weapons: HEG; bricks
Piercing weapons: Macana
Slashing weapons: Kodachi sword
Clubbed weapons: Nunchakas
Machinery: tazer - if you have high spd this pwns and those of you who have tried it knows how sick it is
Equipped weapons:
Primary: Enfield SA-80
Secondary: none
Melee: Macana - could never replace this weapon its took some amazing scalps
Tbh, Ak is really good as a rifle... Just to get the merit, i'm using it. So far, so good. I've also used enfield, but Ak is better.
R+ as this thread is very good and helpfull to new players and those confused with what weapons to use.
I just feel like this has been discussed a ton of times already, and anybody with half a brain can figure out what's better based on previous threads.
in light of that, rated -

Hi,
I found several topics dealing with one kind of weapon. Why not carrying all together? So: What is the best weapon in each merit-category and what weapons should be equipped?
Heavy artillery: Minigun
Machine guns: M249 PARA LMG
Rifles: Armalite M-15A4 Rifle or Enfield SA-80 (almost as effective, but cheaper)
Sub machine guns: BT MP9
Shotguns: Jackhammer

Temporary weapons: HEG; bricks
Piercing weapons: Macana
Slashing weapons: Kodachi sword
Clubbed weapons: Nunchakas
Machinery: Chainsaw

Best melee IMO is Leather Bull whip Chain Whip Or Taser depends how you like it, but i found the Blowgun to by far be the best Secondary depends if like me your a Leather Bull Whippeh the Leather vest is the best armour goes VERY well
wow, thanks for the feedback was not online at the weekend and was surprised to see this topic still being on the first page!
And, yes, since this should be hinds for newer members that on what weapon to use, I asked for the standard-tc-weapons. Of cause the duals have more power than the "normal" weapons. I also didn't consider the new 2.5bill-special-weapons that are auctioned by ched...
obviously depends on your stats
i found the chainsaw to be about 98% effective - despite its low accuracy rating on its stats page- it rarely misses and is usually a 1 hit killer- very very suprising actually - dont expect any head shots if u need crits to kill someone
the sa-80 has to be the best weapon in game, usually only needs 2-4 shots, quite possible to chain with a refill on just 1 clip !
the amalite can empty out too quickly (bit like the jackhammer), would be good with ammo management i guess
cant comment on the new super duals and golden AK47 but thier stats look good
a lot of people mention the taser- so thanks to this thread im gonna give it a go
(see this thread was useful ! -thanks to the op and all who posted thier recommendations )
