I am wondering what other people think about how the new company updates wil effect the retention of new players. With the new demand on high stats for positions along with less positions available I think newer players will struggle finding positions within a company and will have to settle for low paying city jobs that do not provide good working Stat increases. I believe this will lead newer players to more slutting to make money and they will struggle to get out of that life because it will be harder to increase their working stats. I think this will cause a lot of new players to quit rather than work harder and come up with a strategy that works for them.

everything cant be handed to new players on a silver platter... back when i started it was a lot harder to get a donator pack even, without buying of course... it was even harder so i hear at the very start of the game... if they're not willing to work to get better then why feel sorry for them... just evolve and learn how to make money and a job isnt needed...

Companies are a small source of tc play money the desperate slut for it now (which was illegal when i started playing) and the nerds scam for it (which was also illegal when i started playing) tc play money is very easy to get.

I get my tc play money from trading and city finds mainly.

It's easy enough to make 100 mill a day using the stock market.

Companies are a distraction, not a viable money making project.

This is the route I am taking. I want to get the starter job specials/merits out of the way and build my working stats at the same time. Once I join a company I want to be able to stay loyal, not have run back to complete brain surgon or something.

When you get a bit of tc play money you should join a company who will accept payment from you to train you multiple times a day.

But like i said before there are easier faster ways of making money than your job. I could work for a high end company but i dont feel like doing it i just work for people who i feel like working for.

some of the cheapest companies only require a few thousand each, not tens of thousands.

Good, that's how it's suppose to be. You don't start at an oil rig, you gotta work in grocery while doing an education, both of which would increase your stats and eventually you'll get there.

I'm only a little over a year old and I never thought that joining a company was a good way to earn money. I know my former employer was very upset over the updates and sold his company (shame, because he was a good boss).

But for money? I mean, when I was a new player a couple of nice players gave me a few million as starter money, but I started off earning my cash by trading Bricks, Beer and Morphine, and moved on to flower running. It doesn't take long to get to level 15 so there's no real reason to worry about new players getting into companies.

As someone else mentioned, joining Education and jacking up those working stats is one strategy, or waiting until this round of upgrades settles in and employers figure out how to incorporate new, low working stat players with established, high working stat players.

If there really is a new problem with the new set up, it's going to take some time to figure out specifically what those problems are and for all to figure how to best fix them.

BabyFaceMalone - Director of CHEERS-FULL, has trained you from the company. You gained 50 END and 25 MAN.

you also get more stats per train now which should help out a little at least

nobody got rich from a company job, but the extra mil a day did come in handy...

Torn companies are dumb.

I literally only use mine for cash storage.

Torn companies don't make enough money to make it worth the time. High wages and all of the time and effort going into recruiting, mailing, firing, training. All for a little tiny bit of cash.

I don't think I'll have to waste any time recruiting any more. Torn is so boring these days I was happy for the distraction.

This. TC job salaries only seem so low in comparison to the crazy wages some pay. For a new player TC jobs are the way to go until they have enough stats to reach the highest promotion in all TC jobs imo.

There used to be a time when there were no companies, and the best job was brain surgeon. People stuck around, because of the challenge. Take up on the challenge and achieve something.

Starter jobs aren't even that bad if you factor in the specials... Army spies still sell for 1mil each, and Grocer job still gives an energy drink every 5 days.

Wages in torn are nowhere near high enough to compensate you for the rehab it takes to maintain your position.

It would take 5 mill a day at least to make me work in one.

Convos seem to be off topic.

I was expecting opinions about can prices, or profit that companies do compared to what before.

edu job is the best to get a stat so working stats could not be a problem. maybe wages have changed, but i'm not paid at all

Noobs will never get 1m a day pay, pre and post update. So nothing has changed, they are already forced to slut, in a sense if they aren't babied, because you can't flower run until level 15 and you can't revive until you have high work stats. 2 easy ways for noobs to make money and can't be done for after a while of playing the game.

Actual effects of the update
1) Companies cost less to rank up (less employees to pay and it still ranks up the same[sort of], and companies make enough to pay off a few employees)
2) companies by days old: 10-15 can go from rank 1 to 3 stars in only those 1.5 to 2 weeks time
3) companies make crappier profits for directors IE cruiselines, sweet shops and even TV and oil rigs surprisingly some people are making more with this update, the ones that ran their company into the ground can now make money but for others that ran their company correctly they are making less or nothing at all.

No other effects came from the update other than these 3 things

edit: well can price might go up, only because ched announced that xmas town and hallow town are probably done with, and with the sweet shop size nerf... so that's a possible effect, though it's mostly due to xmas town and hallow town sweet shops never generated enough to drop the price down as low as it goes during those months

Right on my man, when I started DP, and PI were extremely hard to get, I remembered moving up the housing ranks .Had and bought everyone from apartment to mansion to castle str8 to PI, through some good city finds, wise business decisions, and solid advice from a few TC elites things are looking on the up and up now .hehehe
