+1

The total votes was a bogus stats. The only thing that determined the winners was the average score. There was no scaling whatsoever. I'm not sure if the admins were just lazy or biased but its pretty stupid.

biased obviously, Ched has to appeal to the masses and the masses are 13 year old boys that use their mothers credit cards to buy DP's so to appeal to them he will make the winner be the one that shows the most cleavage. It is just economics on his part, the top 3 girls in votes were never going to win because he couldn't let that happen because he knew what effect it would have

To be fair the girl who came first had lots of votes and the highest score. In terms of fairness I think that was perfectly fine.

I feel second and third didn't deserve their placings though. They only had (correct me if I'm wrong) around 1500 votes each and only about a 6.1 score. My wife had a 5.9 with almost 5000 votes (I think) and yet no scaling was given. Heck if they gave an entry an extra measely 0.1 for every 1000 votes she would have got second or third place no problem.

They should have just set it up so all entries had to be in by a certain time and THEN the voting can start. Level playing field. I guess thats just asking too much though.

She didn't have the highest amount of votes nor did she even qualify under the rules (To quote Ched "Torn related" how are tits "Torn related" unless he is admitting that Torn is full of nothing but a bunch of tits? ) and she also didn't have the highest score, she had the highest average which is a totally different thing since, as I previously said, someone could enter a pic just at the deadline and get scored three ten's and their average would be ten so should they win just because their average is higher than someone who's picture was being voted on 7000+ times from the start? moral of this comp is submit a pic as late as possible because the less votes you have obviously the better especially if you show some knockers and give Ched some wank fodder.

Just to point out, 'total votes' has no and has never had any effect on the result. It is based on average score given - I thought everyone knew this. Just because you got your entry in as soon as the competition opened shouldn't give you an advantage. And if you read the announcement would see that entries closed 7 days before the end of the competition - to stop people getting an average of 10 from their friends.
I don't particularly like the competition and don't get too involved, but just because your personal favourite didn't win doesn't mean you should kick up a stink.

Nobody said she had the highest amount of votes. And Phanta's example shows that your understanding of the voting is wrong.

I assume you are responding to Phanta, because of the last line, but I think it's a better response to Jeno, as she is the one who has repeatedly stated that total votes is significant to determining the winner.
Phanta is saying it should be, while Jeno is stating it as if it were fact that it is that way already.

Mainly to Jeno... but in general to anyone else. Phanta has a reasonable approach, perhaps next year it could work like that - although it would potentially leave the first couple of weeks with nothing for people to do (nothing to vote on). But that's a separate suggestion.

Actually the competition said the winners would be the people with the highest score not the people with the highest average, by your definition whats the point in any voting before the final 7 days? I mean why not just keep all voting closed until the time for submitting a picture closes and then open ALL pics to the same criteria. As it is it just punished people who got their pics in earlier because some twat could come along at the end, flash their tits, get a lot less votes but still win based on an average. Like I said it was like Kuwait losing the world war, it wasn't based on actual numbers it was based on an arbitary caculation that had no real baring on the votes being cast.

If anything one would think that you would all be a bit more pissed off since ALL your votes those first 3 weeks meant nothing, they may as well have just blanked them all as irrelevant just like they blanked all the voters as irrelevant.
