It's the same thing, you get them randomly.

Got this today

02/06/13
11:14:21 PM You found the item Gold Noble Coin while walking around the city!

Didn't find it 4 days ago. If I found something before the rollback and then I don't log in for the next week, will I still find it again? No.. it's RANDOM

Just found a pack of cuban cigars, which I did not find in the previous 4 days.

If the theory is right and everyone has a set items that they will eventually find around the city, awareness just speeds up the time you find them in.

Not that it finds you better items.

Which means it is a completely worthless upgrade.

I thought it was a well established fact that upgrading awareness didn't raise the chance of finding better items, it just increases the frequency you find things at. So nothing has changed whatsoever there.

Ya, That's how I remember it. Unless at some point Chedburn has changed the way awareness plays. I've always known it as, an increase in the likelihood of finding an item. It's never been about the "value" of the item.

I overdosed on ketamine before the rollback, then when the rollback happened and all my ketamine was refunded, I overdosed again.

It is probably just random. However it is very interesting too think that maybe exactly when you overdose or find item's is all predetermined.

^ I got 5 Ketamine OD's out of 50, so one OD isn't too unusual.

Really? That means Torn's random functions is user dependent. Makes some sense I guess, rather than wasting proc cycles on every user's action to generate a new rand() to search for items etc. It's statically implemented. Probably the reason why high awareness is thus so useless.

I also ODed before and after (with same rehab price, so the same xanax in succession)

I think it's just coincidence though...

Ditto.... however, I went to rehab to make sure I was clean before taking another xanax after the reset, it said i was clean, Didn't have to rehab at all. But I OD'd when i took a xanax. Either this is all one BIG coincidence, or there must be some underlining factor here, we're just not seeing....

I could be incredibly wrong but I think that some drugs have a chance to make you OD regardless of addiction level, I took an ecstasy once with no addiction at all and I OD'd. First one I'd taken in months too (My addiction level was definitely zero, I couldn't use my job points to decrease it)

You are right. I od'd today and then rehabed. Flew baxk took a xtc and od'd again.

Makes paying for your rehab sonnd a bit pointless.

I overdosed 2 Xanax in before the roll back.. And after two Xanax I OD'd

So there could be slight truth in this
