I just searched Level 2 players. Found 7 currently online at the time of posting, and 266 that are less then 10 days old.
It's been a long time, but I think it took me 2 hours to get to level 2 and 3-4 days to make level 3.
I figure at least 3/4 of the 266 level 2 players are active/semi-active.
Sorry, Zurichtorn, I guess Torn isn't about to end yet.
I actually hope that I am wrong on this,but using the advanced search engine by level seems to confirm.

Torn, will not end, when ever player in the game stops buying donator status's and clicking ads etc in other words earning the owners and developers money then torn will go into advertising mode if that faisl it'll die but I doubt this will ever happen.
I went through the advanced search and there were 8 people online. 23 lived in a PI, 11 in castle and 14 in palace. And I didn't check other properties and I do think all the lvl 1 players living in properties are semi active and active people.
So there are 300+ lvl accounts who are active so I think your thread is a fail you just check 1 criteria and didn't even noticed the other.
If you will check online players for all the lvls it won't even be more than 2k at a single time so stop whining "This is the end.".

As a slight aside, the current number of people aged 1-31 online is 51, by my advanced search.
The whole searching only for level 1 things is a little silly for reasons already expressed, but what are you going to do.
I'm just amused you believe a fairly trivial update to be driving newcomers from the game, especially when the majority of the level 1s never even logged in to even see said update to be driven away by it. .
Torns been losing popularity for a good while now, slowly but surely, nothing dramatic recently.
It's definitely worth reiterating that there is, asides level holders, no such thing as an active level 1 since you can reach level 2 within a few hours of play.
EDIT: another fact for you to consider.
According to advanced search, current level 1s in the game 82,805
67,631 of these are 100+ days old (81.6%)
Most of the people you are examining quit long before the update(s) that offended you.

You're making me want to break my hand or my computer screen.
Doing a snapshot of 'who is online, this moment' does very little. Why have you included lvl 1-100?
You say yourself: Level 100 - 0 players found active online of 4 Level 100 players These 4 players are basically the most active in the game's history. Do you think they have quit because they are not online right now?
You seem to be like the type of person who would find a feather on the pavement, then shout: "The dinosaurs are still alive!" without thinking that it could be anything else. Then spend half your life showing 'the proof' to people. Then when these people say "you do know birds also have feathers?" you'd answer "But what about the footprints?"...

I've been reading this and have been wondering the same.
Lateral thinking isn't required, Jesus, it ain't to difficult to work out, just plain ol' common sense.
Leveling example (for the stupid):
1 - With the exception of that solitary rock hard level 1 player, ALL players move exceptionally quickly from level 1 to 2.
2 - Once they have an handle of the game and a grip of the situation, the elegantly and swiftly move towards level 3.
3 - By now those with the attention span of a horse burger will start feeling the need to get back to COD or Crisis (or Farmville) and more than likely not come back, but those who do will continue to play on.
Repeat & rinse...
A bit like life's other hobbies and activities I supposes!
If OP REALLY believes the game is in such poor state than I reckon he should do the honourable thing and click the far top right button and do us all a favour. One less feckin moaner.

"Online" means someone, who did an action in last 20 minutes. Do 72 scans (one every 20 minutes) to find out the true amount of actually daily playing people.
Get over the update its a game. Dont lose so many attacks then. And btw zurich I think the title suits you nicely for making this post
People come and go in this game. There are threads like this everywhere. The downfall of torn will happen slowly and will not be noticeable by looking at daily numbers.

I personally log in for the few things I do enjoy. The social aspect, the poker, the friends I have met. It is one on-line game i have been apart of the longest. Complaining about updates doesn't get you anywhere and eventually you deal with it. Some you will love and others you will hate. It's all part of the game. You will meet all kinds of personalities. Some you will like, others you tolerate and then those you want nothing to do with. Kinda like the real world. I don't see this game disappearing anytime soon. Despite the fact that I play a lot less than I use to and I no longer donate, I still log in when I have the time. It's free entertainment and I have no right to complain
There's a large volume of people that try games, whether it be torn or any other game, and don't particularly find them interesting enough to keep playing. It's true even with the most popular games out there. I don't know the statistics but I'd assume at least half of people that buy any game are only playing it once a week, if not at all. Torn is free, so I'd figure as much.
With that being said, most of the people that break this interest barrier become hooked on the game and play it every day. Torn has 25k of those people right now and I'm one of them!

We already have plenty of regular people playing this game daily and plenty donating to it doesn't really matter if someone joins then decides not to play again and their will be people that will continue to play the game after joining
