I came up with the solution but like normal it was ignored. The suggestion was to set up bogus accounts with large money transactions (stocks, bank investements, etc.....) as soon as the scripters use it on said accounts when they mug them instead of you have won XXXXXXXXXXXXXX dollars, Congratulations: you have been caught using illegal scrips, your prize will be X amount of days in fed prison, have a nice day....

Very nice idea..

Doesn't work though. What if someone got lucky and struck at the right time? Instant ban for being in the right place at the right time? Hate the idea.

Think you mean wrong time... However it wouldn't just be a player with loads of money, what would need to happen would be a very high mug then when someone insta mugs after that almost instantly you know you have some scripters.

It's not completely implausible that people would randomly blast a random account though. I've done it when I was a new player. I was trying to level up to 15. I'd just go type in random ids until I founds someone inactive and then attack/mug. If I had gotten unlucky, I coulda gotten a ban had this idea been implemented. I can't possible be the only person who's done this.

And yes, the both of you are right. I did intend to write wrong

The insta mug thing though, I have heard of people typing in attack log ids. As have others. In fact, it looks like a very lucrative option. I can't do it since my stats suck so I have no first hand experience, but I'm sure it could be done.

Dunno but what if we did like a random red warning when they attack which stated something like "mugging this target will result in a ban" Of course, that's got issues to. If someone was unlucky enough to mug the fake account and impulsive enough to just click mug, they could become a victim.

I think your missing the picture here, the "bogus" accounts would not be sitting inactive. And they would have billions on hand that came from bank investments, stock sales etc.... The script would target them because of the large cash on hand. Just for a few minutes so there would be no question to just a "random" mug. If by chance it was a "random" mugging they would have there day in court. But to have a short time frame of cash on hand, it would be pretty obvious they were using a script.

Once the set "time frame" expires the cash is put back into the bank account/stocks and the account could go inactve until used again.

Money: $858

Store your money

Points, xanax, meds, flowers etc. Spend your money on stuff you can sell fast when you want your money back.

If you are really drowning in tc play money then start buying stocks and houses to store your money they take longer to sell but are good places to store money.

Closing your bazaar is a option but kind of desperate, why have a bazaar if you dont want to sell your stuff? It is a good way of avoiding losing money to muggers but a bit sad

There's a massive difference between 'getting lucky' occasionally, and the levels of mugging success that some people are getting.

I'm sure ched can figure out quickly who those are if he really wants to.
a simple search on the database for huge changes on short periods by mugging different targets is a sure thing.

go figure why something like this isn't happening already...

It's "too much" work?

Hiring for my company 50k int=600k. Druggies are welcome if active. Paying 350k for stalemates, I will unload weapons so anyone can do it.

I like this, simple and effective. Why is this not being done?

I like this idea, especially if it came with a three strike rule. The first two hits would be warnings and the last one fed.

Why doesnt ched just ban scripting if mug scripting is that big of a deal. That is the only way to stop scripting.

But these people that know nothing about mugging and they come up with all these crap ideas need to get over themselves

Really? Because scripting is only bad if it´s used to gain an unfair advantage against other players. i.e. Using scripts to do automatic trains.

Its possible that the field that the mugging scripts were monitoring was fixed:

From the thread that we posted in Bugs, about the possible exploit using personal stats http://www.torn.com/forums.php?forumID=19&ID=15001324 :
By Davzz [323969]
There was a bug in here - you could see fields that were not public. This is now fixed.

Thanks for reporting!
