To be honest i hunted for 1-2 years as i was inactive (still pretty much am)

However with hunting you will have nothing to blow your cash on therefore all you need to do is fly back every 14-20 days and bank then go again.

Thanks to hunting i know own a oil rig, 8 (3700 happy) pi's and about 3.5 bil in cash.

I used to make around 15 mil a day + money made from banking.

Over a year i guess i made about 5-6 bil just from hunting! not including renting out pi's and banking etc

Edit - please note hunting gets boring unless you change your only goal in TC to making a lot of cash!

My hunting skill is around 99%. Not planning on taking it to 100% since I would have to spend more than a whole month in Africa. I don't advise hunting to anyone and for no reason. You should spend your energy the right way... Building up your stats! I will never get back all that energy I wasted in hunting, but I don't quite regret it, 'cause, at that time, hunting was the only thing that kept me from quiting this game.
So, in conclusion hunting = a waste of massive amounts of energy = BAD

Paying... $200k per loss & $350k per successful runaway

Just read this and thought i would reply as i am going for the hunting merit

This is where i am up to:
Total up to now 95.3049%
each hunt i do gets between 27-100k
also an increase of 0.0013%
so going forward i have only 4.6951% left which is Excellent as a percentage left for the merit but behold

to gain that last percentage (only if my increase stays the same)i have to hunt 3611.6 ish times which will take 241 trips at 3.5hr travel time each way unless i just stayed but that would bore me so i am so close yet still so far away from the merit .....

98% hunting skill and still a long way to the end :)

I wouldn't fly to SA to hunt alone but i usually fly there each night before bed. When i wake in the morning i log on and buy Xanax or Violets, hunt (i'm at 83 skill and earn 6 or 7 hundred thousand of 150 energy i also have the general studies course that gives 15% bonus to hunting). I then fly back. log off and go to real life work. By the time i log back on i'm usually home with a full energy bar and some items to sell. The money isn't worth the trip without running the items but it's pretty much using my downtime to make about 2.5 million with about 3 minutes clicking. Once i get the 3rd merit i'll probably never fly to SA again.

I do hunting only as sidequest.
When I start from Torn with zero Energy, I have about 120 when I arrive in SA. I spend 100E on hunting, buy Xanax or African Violet, then return to Torn. On Arrival I have nearly full E, and none wasted.
I would never just travel to SA for hunting alone (let aside when its for the Endurance Challenge).

ok for someone whom has done hunting up until the max level, i can say that the money is low, but its better if you have the bonuses from the company and education... i stuck out to hunting when i started to become inactive when you hit the 98HS mark it alone is 3months constant in SA to gain the last 2 points which is a pain in the ass,

the money itself is fine where it is now, with the amount of multi's etc it would screw the economy even further if the gains increased, Cheds trying to take money out and you want more back in, shouldn't happen. as for overseas crimes NO!! been suggested for years and is still not on the list of updates due to its a side feature and if you want to travel well them travel don't expect to do most of Torn's main features in a side part of the game.

I would love to do overseas crimes but it shouldn't happen to make the newbies happier or give them a better start. Lets start thinking of the long term players inactive or not and ways to improve their wellbeing.

You can make as much money from the nerve you can't use by doing crimes instead, you can make more money mugging low lvls with that energy, take your pick.

I hunt when I'm in South Africa, which is about three times a week.

I travel to UAE, or South Africa, China whatever before leaving for work then check in at lunch and return. Since I have a 4+ hour gap due to work between arriving in SA and getting back to Torn it makes sense to hunt.

My hunting skill is above 99% so I average around $85-100K per hunt, which is much better than I could average with muggings, 5 hunts = $425-500K guaranteed whereas a mugging can return zero.

I started hunting before the bookie and the flower boom. Although it did get me a palace and P.I, if I could go back, Id rather had spend all that e on my stats.

Just like everything else in this game Ched has nerfed every possible decent way to make money so that we'll hopefully b forced to purchase dp's and put more money in his pocket.

From what i'v heard there used to b good ways of making money, stock market, hunting, even gambling....but he continues to screw up every good way to make money so that the high level older players are super freaking rich and newer players like myself can't make shit w/out spending real cash.

Hunting rewards/cash definitely needs to b amped up.

For me, It's not really about the money.

I started to hunt when I was running Violets. I could not be *rsed to mug anyone - so I hunted.

!!!Laziness Initiated!!!

Then I figured - hey - I can get my cash back without looking through lists or profiles with a low chance of success!

So I hunt - and I want that 100 merit

BTW - I am on 75%'ish.

I think that it is worthwhile to spend the time and E's just to get the first level 50 merit. I got that. Sure the money sucks, but so what? You can bring back 10+ violets and that sort of makes the trip worthwhile.

I probably will not hunt anymore unless i break both legs and spend 4 months in a RT hospital, in traction, flat on my back, with a laptop on my chest and a nurse on my laptop.
