About 1/5 of page loads fail from mobile.

Screeners galore.

Unresolved but closed without follow up so reposting.

If its just a case of its broke and staying that way at least comment to that effect so I can stop hoping that invariably the right person will see it and have a clue.

From the developer:

"Its super hard to troubleshoot because of this proxy, and my gut reaction is that some of our slow pages (that I had to hack overrides in to our loadbalancers which are basically proxies the same as these guys ISP are using) are just too slow for these proxies to accept."

Do these problems appear on certain pages? Or any/all?

this was the reply to your other report. does that mean anything, the developer claims that its down to the proxy?

Both myself and an other poster replied to it specifying pages and frequency.

It's been really bad the last couple days, seemingly getting worse.

If its nothing that can be fixed, so be it, but it makes the game tedious when you're getting twenty plus page fails per session.

The original thread (closed for?) had the most detail.

a) Are you on mobile Torn?
b) I assume you're using a mobile device, are pages slow when they do load?
c) What error actually appears when they fail to load?

A)Yeah it's always on mobile torn
B) The page fails almost instantly
C) I get one of two errors:
-proxy error (502)
-service unavailable (503)

I'm stuck on mobile device as I'm in transit, but the errors have occurred across a very wide geographical area (about 4k Km's) but all on the same network.

I have a lot of screeners that are akin to the o Ed posted in the original thread. Hard to upload from mobile.

Thanks for your time and any insight/advice. It just shuts you down when you're attempting even the most basic game play.

I got two PMs last night from Davzz :

Davzz says: In fact, I just checked that post. The error is coming from your ISP. We do not run Apache - yoru ISP is running some sort of transparant proxy which is clearly not working well with TORN. Can you use a ISP that gives you a normal IP connection (or just proxy through it?)

Try using https://; that might work better for you.

11:32:47 PM Davzz says: What is your IP address? I cant imagine you get 25% 502s, that just makes no sense. We log every 502. There are a tiny number except in the period just after midnight TC time when a load of background stuff runs.

Just for context, I question it being an issue on my provider end simply because torn is the only site I'm having issues with (and as this is currently my only means of Internet access, I'm browsing extensively across hundreds of pages per day).

Did you try with HTTPS? Please report success with that, as generally ISPs cant MITM that. This 100% has to be your ISP. We do not run Apache anywhere on Torn. There is simply no way we could serve up that error even if we wanted to.

Its possible that somehow we have a setting that isnt getting along with your ISP's proxy setting, but its really difficult to figure that out. The easiest thing to do is to avoid your ISP's man-in-the-middle, hence HTTPS and/or some sort of VPN through (or ask your ISP to leave your web traffic alone).

Thanks!

-Alex
