All these wars had plenty of hits the first day, some of them 100's of hits, yet two days later they expired. This part of stacking hits so that you can take a break doesn't seem to work either.

I can't imagine you were making enough hits. I'm not hearing of any other problems from anyone else - perhaps you simply didn't make the 25+ hits (or whatever) required PER DAY during those two days?

If it was one or two wars I may agree, but every war ended two days later.

Next time we chain, I will keep track of hits made.

Actually, I have all the hits saved in a spreadsheet. I can cross reference it.

Here's one example, Island of Hunks:
22 members, 64 hits made.

How do you restrain yourself Ched. I would ban IP addresses if addressed like that in my own creation. Guess this is what makes you more professional than I am currently. Members in my faction, was around 85. Shouldn't be relative though, since the other factions all had around 20 members. Everything else is listed, but I can consolidate it for you...

All war lengths are approx. 5 days and 15 hours.

Going by the algorithm as I understand it, half of the lower factions members per day, these wars should have stayed around for weeks. Just looking at the Retro war, where we would need 10.5 hits per day (21/2), and made 298 hits, that war should have stuck around for 28 days. I think the lowest would be the Water war, 20 members means 10 hits per day, we made 180 so it should have been around for 18 days.

It seems to me, that wars time out after 3 days of no hits. We stopped chaining at 1am on the 3rd, wars ended on the 6th. If this is the way it's designed then that's cool. I personally would prefer that, although smaller factions that don't chain daily may not. That is not the way it's been explained though.

I realize this might be a misplaced comment in bugs & issues but you slightly opened the door with the question mark above...lol.

The tricky part here is what is an "active warring situation"? It is a very different thing to the casual player than it is to a HoF faction. JJ's crew can obviously adapt to hitting each crew at least once every three days now that he knows this additional requirement. However, these restrictions are especially tough on casual players. A faction of casual players is lucky if they have a few players that can put together one chain a week. That is an active warring situation for them. For a casual faction it is near impossible for them to keep up with the requirements and it starts to feel like a job rather than a game. I might add, of the roughly 25,000 people that log in per day, probably 80% of those are casual players (and they don't post on the message boards).

As a side note, I have noticed factions are choosing to declare on small, weak, low respect factions as their war base fillers now. The reasons are that you can run through the war fairly quick before it auto-NAPs out and if you are behind on the hit count, it is much easier to catch up when it is a 10 man faction (needing 5 hits) than a 60 man faction (needing 30 hits). Also, if one auto-NAPs out, it is not much of an impact to the war base versus a 60 man crew auto-NAPing out.

However, maybe the master plan is to make things difficult for the small, weak and casual, thus forcing them into larger factions. I dunno. Just wanted to add how I was seeing the changes play out and how a rule written for the top factions affects everyone else.

If that's how it is, okay. That's not how it was explained by several staff at the time. That was all I was getting at.

When we war, we go until we reach our goal, 3 days, 7 day, whatever, doesn't matter to our faction.. But less active ones this may be an issue for, but penicillin explained that well enough.

I fixed a bug which was making the rules twice as strict as they were supposed to be.

Please remember not to be aggressive when making bug reports, or type/swear in capital letters. Really no need for it.


You still havn't fixed the error of a shit update.

Actually the update was completely backed by the committee and I can see it being really successful. It was also planned after about three months of discussion. Also I should note, the change isn't completed yet. We're still waiting to move the 300 limit to 500, and playing with the algorithm (both very simple changes).


If they're simple changes, what's the hold up?



I believe we're sitting on things for a bit, to see how well this works as it is.


Simply put it does not at all - single member factions cant war all we can do is keep accounts of single hits on each warring faction each day using all our energy for this instead of warring single factions for greater gains, this is pathetic...and if the targets dont hit back (WHICH THEY ALL DO - THEN THE WAR ENDS)
