Noticed something interesting with regard to the Mailbox/message system and lag.
If someone sends me a message with html tags in the subject field, when I attempt to view the message by clicking it, there is an 3-5 sec delay before the message is displayed.
This happened once before, about 2-3 weeks ago, the message came from a different person and I can't remember what tags were used but I dismissed it as a one-off.
Since this happened again today, I thought I should post.
This message is still in my mail box and the tags in the subject line are:
Note, there is no other text in the subject line, just the tags.
I tested this a few times now and the results are consistent. If I click any message with regular/non-tag subject text the message is display instantly. Every time I click the one with tags, there is a delay before the message is displayed.
I do remember previously there was lag in the mailbox and only on certain messages (seemingly random?) but Davzz marked that as fixed here, however the lag/delay there on those messages was ~ 15-20 seconds.
Hmm, this is odd. Link's first screenshot '24wwyee.png' is what I'm seeing and the issue is still occurring for me.
So here's some more data:
Using Firefox v18, I clicked on the message several times and each time the message took no less than 12 secs to open (I never bothered to time it before so my original time quote was a guesstimate). I then ran the same test scenario, same system, but using MSIE v9 and two of the 3 tests took no less than 12 secs however one occasion it took ~20 secs.
I then tried recreating the issue; first I tried forwarding the 'affected' msg to myself but it worked fine (with or without the "FWD:" included in the subj line), then I tried recreating the msg by copying the subj line text from the affected msg into a new msg - in all cases the new msgs open fine; no lag. Thinking about this a little further I guessing this is a "company msg" meaning it was created using a different script than what's used to create regular user msgs so I'm thinking it may has something to do with the company msg generating script. That's about all I've got.
In case you need it, the message XID=170773062
And the following are my systems specs, hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else.

Yep, glad to help relieve the lag anyway I can. I actually did a lot of SQL development, admin work, and testing on a consumer web app for a fairly major higher ed publisher a few years ago so I feel your folks pain.
btw, I did just receive an event stating "Your bug posted in Bugs & Issues requires more details or information, please respond by clicking here." but it looks like you have things handled. Let me know if that is not the case and what you nee, again I'm happy to help.
