I just logged in and my faction chat is not showing and I had two private chats open (which I didn't start) with FOSTER07 and LoseControl.
Edit: Just went to change it all back and my faction chat has disappeared:

My company chat box popped up with a message so I replied and aparrently I'm now "TheHenchBoss" as my username !

Following on from my earlier post (Thu Jan 03, 2013 - 19:08:46)
Thursday 03 Jan - Actual name - Ozzy123 (1651224), but Displayed name - TheDreadKinght (1313275).
Friday 04 Jan - Actual name - Ozzy123 (1651224), but Displayed name - HORICA (69307). Note - spent most of the day with multiple bounties on me! Where they really for me though?
Today, Saturday 05 Jan - Actual name - Ozzy123 (1651224), but Displayed name now 'BLACK_MAMBA' (1195082).
FYI - I have carried out the instructions to delete the 'delete browsing history' etc at the beginning of this topic, but that does not resolve the issue - it just continues.
I am concerned as yesterday (Thursday) I received multiple bounties on me (10 of them), which potentially would have kept me offline for 30+ hours, if I hadn't had decided to use my own morphine to get out quicker.
Maybe these bounties were legitimitely for me, but I seem to think that someone else had my Username in the chat forums and was using it inappropriately, which resulted in bounties being set up against me. This can't be proven though, just a comment that a wise-colleague of mine on TC suggested.
Who knows, but anyway, please can this be investigated further good TC friends.

So apparently the person whose name it was and I were both autlogged into chat, her faction chat, under her name this time.
It now happens any time I use chat where I log in I always have someone elses name and can see whatever chat they have access too, beit faction, NPC, etc

He was typing about a lotto or something & when I went to write my reply it came up under his name also.
Update: Seems to be working okay again, after following the OP instructions.

The real Dark_Fantasy works for me and I've confirmed with him that he did not say that.
Surely when it reaches the stage that people are f**king about with other players games that this needs some sort of communication from staff? Or the chat boxes turned off until this ongoing problem is fixed?
If I hadn't checked if he was online, I could have fired him and he lost all those job points etc.
Surely from the lol of appearing in a different faction's chat box, to this sort of behaviour and people getting chat banned for spamming trade etc. this needs sorting now?

maybe we should disable all chat boxes, except trade. there would be a lot of people angry if you closed trade

My faction chatbox has me saying inappropriate things when i wasn't logged on at the time. Obviously its amusing for the small minded players that actually made the comments but this has the capacity to be really damaging to one's position in the game. Chat should be shut down till the problem is resolved.

I'm now KuteKitty (465500).
FYI - I was my old self (Ozzy123) for a brief moment yesterday (Saturday) evening.
Following my previous post, in addition to having usernames for THEDDREADKNIGHT on Thursday, HORICA on Friday, and BLACK_MAMBA for some of yesterday; I have also had 'betouchpad' (1578792), and 'dnchadora' (1565237) usernames appearing for myself during the afternoon & evening of Saturday (UK time).
Only one sensible option I believe, and that is to close ALL chat boxes IMMEDIATELY to cause any further issues until this problem is resolved. Please do this and send out a message to everyone on TC.
Unless of course, this is a deliberate attack by the TC staff on the players, and will be under the banner shortly of a 'New War' or something?...
Regardless, please follow up quickly, and take an action to communicate something out to everyone shortly. Thank you.

seems it changed my name to Biggles266 [1665757] no biggie. cleared cache resolved the problem... even managed to not send out any offensive messages as another person.

I now have players from the Players Committee posting negative, offensive comments as my faction members.
This is how Torn lets its "Players in Charge" act? I thought they were supposed to be setting an example for the other players of Torn.
Not the case with this player.
Why has Chat not been turned off until you can get it fixed?

I just experienced the issue where the wrong Faction chat poped up and I posted as the wrong user. I was posting as Vulgarian in the Deadly Silence chat box. Cleared the cache and reopened the browser fixed the issue for now.
